Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →If a GrabzIt screenshot is missing a font or image, first check whether the capture can reach the asset at the URL your HTML or page actually uses. A longer wait can help with content that loads late, but it cannot fix a broken, private, blocked, or incorrectly resolved asset URL. Then choose a wait signal that matches the page, and compare the result with Chrome at the same viewport.
First identify how GrabzIt receives the page
The fix depends on the capture input. GrabzIt documents URL captures, HTML supplied as a string, and a JavaScript ConvertPage flow. Each has different implications for relative paths and resource access. Its screenshot API describes support for web fonts and lazy-loaded images, but assets still have to be correctly referenced and available to the capture process (GrabzIt Website Screenshot API).

- Public URL: Check the asset request made by the page at that URL. Make sure the image or font can load without a login, local-only path, or browser state that the capture does not have.
- Supplied HTML: Relative URLs may not resolve as they do in your local project. GrabzIt advises using absolute URLs for CSS, background images, and web fonts, or embedding assets as Base64 data URLs where appropriate (GrabzIt HTML to Image API).
- JavaScript
ConvertPage: The resources needed by the captured page must be publicly available to the screenshot flow (GrabzIt JavaScript screenshot guidance).
For supplied HTML, absolute URLs keep the markup smaller but require the assets to be reachable. Embedding image data removes the external image request, at the cost of a larger HTML payload. Neither approach makes a private or inaccessible remote resource available.
Check the failing asset before changing timing
Open the page in browser developer tools and inspect the specific font or image request. Record the complete URL and request status. Look for a 404, a failed redirect, an authorization requirement, a blocked request, an invalid path, or a resource available only on localhost or a private network. A successful request in your own browser does not by itself establish that the capture flow can access it.

- A BETTER READING EXPERIENCE: For busy office workers, EasyRead mode provides a more paper-like experience for when viewing lengthy documents
- Find the exact request URL for the missing asset in the browser’s Network panel.
- Check whether the request succeeds and whether it redirects to a different location.
- For supplied HTML or CSS, replace project-relative asset paths with absolute URLs, or embed an image as a data URL if that fits your use case.
- Resolve access restrictions or path errors before testing longer waits.
Separate the symptoms: a failed asset request points to reachability or URL construction; a successful request that finishes after the capture points to timing; an asset that loads but appears misplaced or clipped points to layout or viewport differences.
Choose a wait method that reflects page readiness
GrabzIt documents two useful approaches for late-loading content: wait for a CSS-selected element to become visible, or add a fixed delay. A selector is the more targeted signal when the page has a dependable element that appears only after the relevant content is inserted. A delay is useful when readiness cannot be represented by a stable selector. The methods can be combined when the target element appears before its font or image has finished loading.

| Method | Use it when | Limit or trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Visible-element wait | A specific element reliably appears when the target content is ready. | The selector must identify the right element; if several elements match, the wait may finish when one is visible. The REST API documents a maximum of 25 seconds for waitfor. |
| Fixed delay | There is no reliable visible element to use as a readiness signal. | It adds waiting even when the page loads quickly, and cannot repair inaccessible assets. The REST API documents a maximum delay of 30,000 ms. |
| Selector wait plus delay | The element appears before a dependent image or font is fully ready. | Use the smallest additional delay that reliably covers the remaining load time. |
Limits vary by interface: the REST API reference lists a 30,000 ms maximum for delay and up to 25 seconds for waitfor, while GrabzIt’s support guidance describes a maximum 30-second wait for its techniques. Verify the setting and limit for the exact interface you use. GrabzIt also documents “Accelerated Delay,” in which the browser simulates elapsed time in compressed real time for supported capture types. See GrabzIt’s wait and delay guidance and its REST API reference.
Use a specific selector
Choose a selector for the content or container that matters, not a broad selector likely to match an unrelated visible element. GrabzIt recommends using developer tools to identify a selector. If the selected element becomes visible before the font or image is ready, add a modest delay and verify the output rather than assuming visibility means every asset has loaded.

- Ultra-thin bezels: Maximize your viewing experience with thin bezels.
Use a measured delay
Start with a short delay and increase it only if a successful asset request is still finishing after the capture. GrabzIt’s consistency guidance suggests trying 5000 milliseconds or more for load-timing problems; that is a troubleshooting suggestion, not a universal setting and not a remedy for failed or private asset requests (GrabzIt capture consistency guidance).
Compare browser rendering and viewport
If the asset request succeeds and timing is adequate but the screenshot still differs, compare the page in Chrome. GrabzIt says its capture software is based on Chromium and recommends Chrome for comparison. Keep the viewport width consistent: responsive CSS can change which assets appear and where elements sit, and a width difference can cause clipping or a different layout. GrabzIt’s consistency guidance also suggests varying browser width when layout does not match.

Re-test one change at a time
- Save a fresh screenshot after correcting any broken or relative asset URLs.
- If the asset request succeeds but completes too late, add a selector wait or a measured delay.
- If the asset is present but its position or visibility differs, compare Chrome rendering and adjust the capture viewport.
- Change one factor per capture so the outcome distinguishes reachability, timing, and layout problems.
