Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →If Fortnite will not connect, sign you in, find a match, or keep a party together, first check whether Epic Games or your internet provider is having an outage. If both are operating normally, run your device’s network test, then use the troubleshooting steps for the platform and symptom. This order helps distinguish a service problem from a home-network or device issue before you change settings.
Start with Epic’s status and your internet provider
Check Epic Games Server Status before changing your PC, console, or router settings. A system-wide Epic issue can prevent Fortnite or the Epic Games Launcher from connecting, and local troubleshooting will not resolve an outage.

If Epic’s status is normal, ask your internet service provider whether there is an outage or degraded service in your area. If other devices or online services at home are also struggling, that points toward the connection rather than Fortnite. Avoid reinstalling the game or buying new equipment as an initial response.

- 40 Gbps 2000 Mhz High Speed: The Cat 8 ethernet cable support max. 40 Gbps data transfer and 2000 MHz Brandwith, ideal for gaming and streaming, greatly improving upload and download speed, sound, image and resolution quality
- Excellent Anti-interference: The ethernet cable comes with 4 shielded foiled twisted pairs (F/FTP), pure copper core and gold-plated RJ45 connector, reducing interference, noise and crosstalk, making network speed faster and more stable
- Marvelous Durability: Internet cable wrapped with quality cotton braided cord, which makes the LAN cable stronger and more durable. The test proves that this internet cable can be bent at least 10000 times without broken, very suitable for long-term use
- PoE Supported: All lengths of ethernet cord can support the PoE power supply function except 65ft. You don't need additional power supply when installing a PoE camera, which is very convenient and safe
- Wide Compatibility: With the RJ45 Connector, network cable can be perfectly compatible with computers, laptops, modems, routers, PS5, X-Box and other networking devices. It can also be fully backward compatible with Cat7, Cat6e, Cat6, Cat5e, Cat5
- Xbox: Xbox network speed and connection troubleshooting.
- PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5: PlayStation connection troubleshooting.
- Nintendo Switch: Nintendo Internet Connection Test.
If the built-in test fails, follow the platform’s guidance and contact your provider if the problem appears to affect the home connection. Epic’s console network-test instructions point users to these platform-specific resources. For PlayStation, Epic also recommends a wired LAN connection where practical; Ethernet can help diagnose or avoid an unstable Wi-Fi link, but it cannot fix an Epic outage or an ISP problem.

- Cat 8 Speed, Cat 5/5e Value Enjoy Cat 8 Ethernet cable performance at a Cat 5/5e-level value. With up to 40Gbps speed and 2000MHz bandwidth, this high speed internet cable delivers more bandwidth than standard Cat 5 and Cat 5e cables, helping support smooth gaming, streaming, video calls, large file transfers and everyday wired network use.
- 40Gbps Speed, Wide Compatibility This Cat 8 Ethernet cable supports up to 40Gbps data transfer and 2000MHz bandwidth for fast, reliable internet performance. Standard RJ45 connectors are backward compatible with Cat7, Cat6, Cat6a and Cat5e devices, including routers, modems, switches, gaming PCs, PS5, PS4, Xbox, smart TVs, laptops and printers.
- Stable U/FTP Shielding Each of the 4 twisted pairs is individually wrapped with aluminum foil to help reduce crosstalk, noise, and signal interference. Combined with RJ45 connectors on both ends, the U/FTP design helps maintain cleaner signal transmission for a stable and reliable wired network connection.
- Nylon Braided Durability The nylon braided jacket adds everyday durability while keeping the cable flexible and easy to route. Reinforced construction helps the cord handle bending, pulling and frequent plugging, making it a reliable choice for desks, gaming rooms, home offices and long-term network setups.
- 50ft Reach for More Setups The 50 ft length makes it easier to connect devices across rooms, along walls, under desks or around corners. Great for router-to-PC connections, modem-to-TV setups, gaming consoles, workstations, printers and other home network equipment that needs a longer Ethernet cable.
- Restart your modem and router. Power-cycle the network equipment, let it reconnect fully, and then retry Fortnite. This can clear a temporary router or modem fault.
- Try a public DNS service. If name resolution is the problem, changing the device’s DNS settings may help. Use a reputable provider and record the existing settings first so you can restore them if needed.
- Check the device clock. Enable automatic date, time, and time-zone synchronization. An incorrect clock can interfere with secure connections.
- Check domain access and proxy settings. Make sure required Epic domains are not blocked by a firewall, filtering service, or Hosts file entry. If a proxy is configured, determine whether it is required by your network before disabling it.
- Clear the appropriate cache and update Windows. Follow Epic’s instructions for resetting the device or Launcher cache, and install pending Windows updates before testing again.
- Flush Windows DNS. Open Command Prompt and run
ipconfig /flushdns. Windows should report that the DNS Resolver Cache was successfully flushed. - Reset the Windows Hosts file if it has been modified. Do this only using the steps in Epic’s guide; the file can contain intentional entries required by other software or a managed network.
- Check Epic Launcher files and background applications. Apply Launcher-file changes only where Epic’s instructions call for them. Temporarily close nonessential background apps that might interfere with the connection, then retest.
Some checks, such as editing the Hosts file or Launcher files, are more advanced than restarting a router. Follow Epic’s linked instructions closely and avoid deleting or changing unrelated entries.

Epic says red bars beneath the network statistics indicate packet loss and advises contacting your ISP for help with the network connection. The word “Disabled” can appear in the details without affecting gameplay; turn Net Debug Stats off if that repeated label is distracting. This display is a diagnostic clue, not proof that every connection issue has the same cause.

“Unable to sign in to your Fortnite account” on PlayStation
For the PlayStation sign-in errors covered by Epic, check both PlayStation Network status and Epic Games Server Status. If neither reports an issue, restart the modem and router, clear the PlayStation cache, try public DNS, and sign out of and back into PlayStation Network. If you still cannot sign in, contact PlayStation Support. See Epic’s PlayStation sign-in troubleshooting for the applicable steps.

“Unable to join other parties” or error code -91
Epic’s party error -91 guidance recommends checking server status and using fixes that depend on the device: verify game files on PC or clear the console cache; review crossplay settings on PlayStation or Xbox; and use the console maker’s NAT troubleshooting where relevant. Restarting the router and device are also listed options. These steps are for the specified party error, not universal fixes for every sign-in or connection problem.

Compare what happens across devices
Where a problem occurs can narrow down the cause. Check whether Epic or the console service reports an issue, whether the device’s network test succeeds, and whether Fortnite’s network display indicates packet loss. Note whether the symptom is sign-in, queueing, matchmaking, joining a party, or high latency. If multiple devices on the same home network have trouble, that is useful information to share with your ISP; if only one device fails, focus first on that device’s platform-specific checks.
