There is no verified Galaxy S27 Ultra specification or price in Samsung’s official material available as of October 3, 2026, so a factual S27-versus-S26 feature comparison is not yet possible. Samsung has documented the Galaxy S26 Ultra, including its display, cameras, processor, battery and built-in Privacy Display. If you own an S26 Ultra, the useful decision today is whether it meets your needs—not whether an unannounced successor is worth buying. When Samsung publishes S27 details, compare the actual upgrade cost and changes in the areas below rather than relying on the generation number.
What is actually different between the Galaxy S27 Ultra and S26 Ultra?
Samsung’s official announcements and product information found for this article document the Galaxy S26 Ultra, but do not provide an official Galaxy S27 Ultra announcement, specifications or price. That means there are no substantiated S27 changes to list against the S26. This is a statement about the official Samsung material available as of October 3, 2026—not proof that no unofficial reports exist. Unconfirmed claims should not be treated as product facts.

Samsung announced the S26 series on February 25, 2026. Its US announcement said preorders began that day and general availability would start March 11, 2026. The US launch price for the S26 Ultra started at $1,299.99, with 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB configurations listed. That is a US launch-era price, not a current quote; price, offers and configurations can vary by retailer, carrier and region.

The S26 Ultra uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor. Samsung’s 2026 global launch release says performance versus the previous generation is up to 19% higher for the CPU, 39% higher for the NPU and 24% higher for the GPU. These are Samsung’s stated comparisons, not independent benchmark results.
Camera hardware and zoom labels
Samsung lists a 200 MP wide camera with an f/1.4 aperture, a 50 MP ultra-wide camera at f/1.9, a 50 MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and 10x optical-quality zoom, and a 10 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The front camera is 12 MP. The distinction matters: Samsung describes 3x and 5x as optical zoom, while 10x is optical-quality zoom—not optical zoom.

Battery, charging and privacy
The battery is rated at 5,000 mAh typical capacity; Samsung also gives a 4,855 mAh rated minimum. Actual battery life depends on factors including network and use. Samsung says Super Fast Charging 3.0 can reach up to 75% in 30 minutes under its stated conditions; that is a manufacturer claim, not a guarantee for every charger or situation.
The S26 Ultra’s built-in Privacy Display is one of Samsung’s headline features. Samsung describes options to hide the whole screen or selected apps, as well as incoming sensitive content. A future comparison should check whether any S27 changes this feature, but no S27 implementation is established here.

Should S26 Ultra owners upgrade, or wait?
There is not enough verified S27 information to recommend upgrading to it or to declare it an improvement. If your S26 Ultra is meeting your needs, a decision based on an unannounced phone would depend on guesswork. If you need a phone now, decide on the S26 Ultra based on its confirmed features, current local price and alternatives available to you—not on an assumed S27 advantage.
Once Samsung publishes official S27 details, compare the models on the points that can change the practical value of an upgrade:

- Price after trade-in: Compare the amount you would actually pay in your country and storage tier, not just a launch starting price.
- Display and privacy: Check for documented changes to screen size, refresh rate or Privacy Display, and consider whether they matter in your everyday use.
- Camera hardware and zoom: Look at sensor specifications and distinguish optical zoom from optical-quality zoom. For real-world image quality, seek comparable independent tests rather than inferring results from megapixel counts.
- Performance and thermals: Compare like-for-like testing, especially sustained performance during gaming, video capture or demanding workloads. Keep manufacturer claims separate from independent measurements.
- Battery and charging: Compare capacity and charging specifications, then look for tests conducted under comparable conditions; capacity alone does not establish battery life.
- Size, weight, storage and support: Weigh any physical trade-offs against your storage needs and the official support terms for each model.
