Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsIf your EA verification code hasn’t arrived, first confirm you’re signing into the intended EA Account, then check the registered email’s spam folder, storage space, and blocked messages. Try EA’s additional email-delivery step; if you still can’t get a code, use another verification method already enabled on the account or a saved backup code. If none of those options works, use EA’s account-recovery or support process rather than trying to bypass verification.
Fix a missing EA email verification code
- Check the EA Account and its registered email. Make sure you’re signing into the account you want to access. If you’re signed into a different EA Account, the code may go to the email address associated with that account. Confirm you can open the registered mailbox.
- Check delivery problems. Look in spam or junk, make sure the mailbox isn’t full, and check whether you or your email provider has blocked EA messages.
- Try EA’s extra email step. Search the mailbox for a previous message from
[email protected], allow images to display in that message, then request the code again. EA describes these steps in its two-factor authentication guidance.
If you’ve forgotten the email address on the account or can no longer access it, repeated resend attempts won’t restore that access. Move to account recovery instead.
Choose another verification method or use a backup code
EA documents email, text message, and an authenticator app as two-factor authentication methods. Which options you can use depends on what is enabled for your account and the security check you’re completing; EA may require a particular method for some account actions.
| Method | What to check | When it may help |
|---|---|---|
| Access to the registered mailbox; spam, capacity, and message blocks | When EA offers email verification and the mailbox is accessible | |
| Text message | Access to the phone number configured on the account | When text verification is enabled and offered for the security check |
| Authenticator app | Access to the device with the enrolled app and its account entry | When the app is configured and EA offers that method |
| Backup code | A saved code you have not already used | When you cannot access your selected method; EA identifies backup codes as a way to sign in from a new device |
EA’s 2FA settings guidance explains how to view or change methods and set a preferred one. Changing the preferred method does not guarantee that it will be offered for a particular security check.

- FAST & CONVENIENT LOGIN: Plug in your Security Key C NFC via USB-C and tap it, or tap it against your phone (NFC) to authenticate. No batteries, no internet connection, and no extra fees required.
- TRUSTED PASSKEY TECHNOLOGY: Uses the latest passkey standards (FIDO2/WebAuthn & FIDO U2F) but does not support One-Time Passwords. For complex needs, check out the YubiKey 5 Series.
- BUILT TO LAST: Made from tough, waterproof, and crush-resistant materials. Manufactured in Sweden and programmed in the USA with the highest security standards.
If you’re replacing or resetting a phone, save your backup codes first and transfer authenticator data if your app supports it. Otherwise, you could lose access to the enrolled method before setting up its replacement.
Recover the account if you can’t use any available method
If you’ve lost access to the registered email and have no usable alternative method or backup code, contact EA through its account recovery route. EA also says people who can’t access an account or sign in with a connected account can contact EA for recovery.

For a forgotten password, use the EA Help login flow to reset it with the account email or EA ID. See EA’s instructions for updating EA Account information. A password reset addresses password access; it does not replace a required verification code.
When the EA app shows an authentication error
A sign-in error in the EA app is not necessarily a missing-code problem. Follow the guidance for the specific error shown:

- EC: 10000: EA recommends checking connection stability and login details. If the underlying problem is access to your email or password, use its account-access troubleshooting guidance.
- EC: 10500: EA says an outage may be responsible. Its suggested steps include clearing the app cache, trying again later, and allowing time for a fix if needed.
These recommendations apply to those displayed EA app error codes; they do not establish that every verification failure is caused by an outage. See EA’s EA app error-code troubleshooting page.
