Crew currently includes 800 V-Bucks each month, a monthly Crew Pack and access to the passes listed on Epic’s page. Buying V-Bucks separately gives you a balance to spend, but not Crew’s other benefits. Which route makes sense depends on whether you want those extras as well as the skin.
What Fortnite Crew gives you—and what V-Bucks do
V-Bucks are Fortnite’s in-game currency. You can buy them separately and spend them on eligible Item Shop cosmetics, including Outfits (skins), Emotes and other items. A currency purchase adds spendable balance; it does not include a subscription or a specific skin.

Fortnite Crew is a subscription that currently bundles the passes listed on its page, a monthly Crew Pack and 800 V-Bucks. The Crew Pack contains curated cosmetics described as exclusive to Crew subscribers. Epic lists the U.S. English subscription price as $11.99 per month; subscription prices and features can vary by region and platform, and Epic warns that “Fortnite Crew monthly content is subject to change.” Check the offer shown for your account before subscribing. Epic’s Fortnite Crew page has the current offer.

The current Crew page confirms 800. Some Epic terms snippets still show the old 1,000 figure, so use the current subscription page and later announcement for the present amount. Can you use Crew V-Bucks to buy skins?
Yes. The 800 V-Bucks in Crew are currency, so you can use them toward eligible Item Shop purchases just as you would separately purchased V-Bucks. The Crew Pack is different: its included cosmetics come as part of the subscription rather than being a balance you choose how to spend. A particular skin’s availability and price depend on the Item Shop, and the cited Epic pages do not establish a price for any specific skin.
How the Battle Pass fits in
At the time of checking, Epic’s Battle Pass page lists a price of 800 V-Bucks and says players can unlock up to 800 V-Bucks by progressing through the pass. Epic’s March 2026 announcement says completing the pass awards 800 V-Bucks, enough to buy another pass at the listed price. These are in-game rewards, not a cash refund or a guaranteed skin. Epic says XP earned in any Fortnite experience progresses the pass. Check Epic’s current Battle Pass page.

Epic also says pass items may appear in the Fortnite Shop at least 18 months after a pass expires; availability and styles can vary. Treat this as a possibility, not a promise that a particular item will return.
Should you subscribe or buy V-Bucks for one skin?
If you only want one skin, compare the skin’s current V-Bucks price with the currency packages available in your region. Separately purchased V-Bucks avoid a recurring subscription, while Crew may offer more value to someone who also wants its listed passes and monthly Crew Pack. The $11.99 figure is Epic’s U.S. English monthly price, not a universal price or a one-time cost.

- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. - Consider Crew if you want its pass access and Crew Pack as well as the monthly V-Bucks, and are comfortable with recurring billing.
- Consider a one-time V-Bucks purchase if you only need currency for a skin and do not want the subscription’s other benefits or renewal.
- Check before spending whether the skin is currently in the Item Shop, how many V-Bucks it costs, and whether your platform and region support the currency you plan to use.
Epic’s March 2026 announcement says existing Fortnite V-Bucks gift cards remain redeemable for the values printed on them. That does not establish stock, merchant availability or compatibility for a particular region; verify those details before buying a card. Epic’s pricing announcement covers the gift-card detail.
Renewal, cancellation and platform limits
Crew renews until canceled. Epic says cancellation must be handled through the platform where you bought the subscription, and the subscription remains associated with that platform. The terms also warn that although received items can be accessed across platforms, V-Bucks might not be redeemable on another platform. Sign in on the primary purchase platform if needed, and check your platform’s current account settings for its cancellation steps. Read Epic’s Fortnite Crew terms.

Under Epic’s stated policy, canceling does not remove subscription content already received or premium rewards already earned, and the policy provides no prorated refund, subject to statutory rights. Access to claim further premium pass rewards can depend on whether a pass requires active Crew and on your circumstances; check the terms shown for your account and pass. Epic’s Battle Pass FAQ explains subscription-related pass access.
Can you reverse a skin purchase?
Epic’s cancellation and return process applies to eligible Item Shop cosmetics bought with V-Bucks, not purchases made directly with money. You can use Cancel Purchase until you equip the item during gameplay or 24 hours pass, whichever comes first. After that window, eligible cosmetics can be returned with a Return Ticket for up to 30 days. Accounts start with three tickets; a used ticket is replenished 365 days after the most recently added ticket, and accounts can hold no more than three. Check Epic’s current cancellation and return guidance for eligibility and account-specific details.
