To fix a Comodo block, first identify which component blocked the file or URL. Then make the narrowest matching change: an antivirus scan exclusion for an antivirus detection, an application rule for a firewall block, or a local URL exception for Comodo Online Security. If you believe the block is mistaken, report it to Comodo as a suspected false positive; allowing it locally does not change Comodo’s classification.
Comodo’s menu labels vary across products and versions. The paths below are specific to the editions named in Comodo’s documentation, so use the closest matching controls in your installed version.
Identify what blocked the program or website
Before changing a setting, note the blocked file or URL and any detection name shown in the alert. In Comodo Internet Security, open Tasks > General Tasks > Unblock Applications. The list includes a Blocked by field that can identify Antivirus, HIPS, Firewall, or Containment, along with details such as the file path and last-blocked information. See Comodo’s Manage Blocked Items, Blocked Applications help.
Use the component named in that list to guide the fix. An antivirus exclusion will not resolve a firewall or HIPS rule, and a firewall allow rule is not the same as excluding a file from antivirus scans.

If Comodo Antivirus blocked a file
Comodo Internet Security v7
Comodo’s v7 documentation gives this path: Advanced Settings > Security Settings > Antivirus Settings > Exclusions. It separates exclusions into two types:
- Excluded Paths: Add a specific file, folder, subfolder, or drive partition. The v7 help says these paths are skipped during real-time and on-demand or custom scheduled antivirus scans.
- Excluded Applications: Add an application from the running-process list or browse to it. In this documented version, this tab is for exclusions from real-time scans.
These controls and their scan scope are documented for Comodo Internet Security v7, not as universal menu names for every release. See Comodo Internet Security v7 Exclusions.
Comodo Client Security
In Comodo Client Security, the documented path is Settings > Advanced Protection > Scan Exclusions. Its help says excluded applications are skipped by real-time scans but remain subject to on-demand scans; excluded paths are omitted from future antivirus scans. This is a different product with a separately documented interface. See Comodo Client Security Scan Exclusions.

- THREAT DETECTION – Stay one step ahead. Suspicious links, risky sites, viruses, and scams, caught automatically before they reach you.
- PERSONAL INFO PROTECTION – Keep your personal info safer. Identity monitoring watches for your exposed info and tells you what to do about it.
- SECURE CONNECTIONS – Just a few clicks, and your info stays protected on public Wi-Fi every time you connect.
- PERSONAL DATA SCANS – Take your info off the market. We’ll find your personal information on sites selling it, then guide you on how to remove it.
- SOCIAL PRIVACY MANAGER – Decide what you share. McAfee finds the privacy settings buried in your social accounts and fixes them.
An exclusion reduces scanning coverage for the selected item or location. Verify the file’s source and publisher, exclude only the exact file or path you need, and remove the exception when it is no longer necessary. An exclusion changes how Comodo scans the item; it does not establish that the item is safe.

In Comodo Internet Security, use Unblock Applications to identify the blocking component, then review its corresponding rule area:
- Firewall: Settings > Firewall > Application rules.
- HIPS: Settings > HIPS > HIPS Rules.
- Containment: Settings > Containment > Auto-containment.
Comodo’s blocked-items help says that unblocking can create the corresponding rule, such as a Firewall allow rule, a HIPS allow rule, a Containment ignore rule, or an Antivirus scan exclusion. The product can offer a component-specific unblock or one covering all security components. Prefer the component-specific choice that matches the block you found; do not allow an application through every component just to clear one alert. If behavior is still unexpected, inspect the resulting rule. Menu names may differ in other editions or versions. Details are in Comodo’s blocked-items help.

If Comodo Online Security blocked a website
Comodo Online Security’s documented alert offers Go back to safety, Continue Anyway, and Report False Positive. Choosing Continue Anyway opens the URL and adds it to the exclusions list, preventing the same alert on a later visit. This is a local exception, not confirmation that Comodo’s classification was wrong.
To review or remove an allowed URL, open Edit Exclusion List from the product’s home view. Removing the URL means alerts can appear again. If you think the site has been misclassified, use the alert’s report option or the Report this page flow; Comodo’s instructions ask for the URL, an email address, and any useful comments before submission. See Comodo Online Security’s introduction and web-filtering help.

Report a suspected false positive
A local exception changes what happens on your device. A false-positive report asks Comodo to review its classification; submitting a report does not itself allow the file or website.

Comodo’s official malware-analysis submission page provides separate options for files and websites and requests the relevant file or URL and an email address. Use the live form for its current submission requirements. The page says that if a file is confirmed as a false positive, Comodo will remove it from its antivirus database; if a site is confirmed as a false positive, Comodo will remove it from its global blacklist. The page does not state a response time, and a submission is not a guarantee that Comodo will accept the item as safe.
Comodo’s alert guidance also describes ignoring a file while reporting it for analysis; if Comodo verifies the false positive and the file is trustworthy, the guide says it will be added to Comodo’s safe list. That process is separate from creating a local exception. See Comodo’s security-alert help.
