Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallCrashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteDiagnose the defect before changing printer settings: print a nozzle test, check the media and job setup, and use an adhesion test for peeling. The right fix depends on the printer, ink, substrate, and—especially for calibration, cleaning, and curing—its exact manufacturer instructions.
Start with checks that separate the likely causes
Before changing settings, note whether the defect appears in every job or only with one material, color, or print mode. Check the nozzle test, media setup, and surface condition; for suspected peeling, perform the cross-hatch-and-tape test described below. These observations help distinguish printhead, feed, material, and curing issues without assuming that one adjustment suits every UV printer.

- Does the nozzle test show missing or deflected nozzles?
- Does the problem follow a particular substrate or material batch?
- Is it confined to one color, including white?
- Does the banding pattern align with the feed or carriage direction?
- Does ink lift during a cross-hatch-and-tape test?
- After checking the lamp and approved operating conditions, does curing improve?
These are diagnostic checks, not a replacement for the service procedure for your model. For supported VersaUV models, Roland’s LEF2-300 support resources include model-specific guidance such as feed calibration; use the relevant model documentation rather than transferring another printer’s menu sequence.

1. Check nozzle firing
Print a nozzle test and look for missing or deflected nozzles. If the result is abnormal, follow the manufacturer’s maintenance sequence for your model, then print another test to see whether firing improved. Mimaki’s troubleshooting guidance uses staged cleaning and recommends contacting support if the fault persists; cleaning options and service thresholds vary by printer. Avoid repeatedly running aggressive cleaning cycles without model-specific guidance.

2. Check feed and alignment only after the nozzle test
If nozzle firing looks sound, consult the exact model’s horizontal-banding and media-feed calibration instructions. Roland lists a media-feed calibration adjustment for the LEF2-300 as a check for removing banding, and provides separate test-print and alignment resources for supported models. Bidirectional alignment, media/profile setup, and feed calibration may be relevant, but do not adjust them by borrowing another model’s procedure. See Roland VersaUV LEF2-300 support and its LEC-300 support resources for model-specific documentation.
How to fix poor adhesion or peeling
Confirm the material and surface preparation
UV ink sits on top of the media, and its adhesion depends on the printer, ink, substrate, and preparation. Confirm that the material is supported for the inkset and that its surface is clean and prepared as directed. Roland notes that UV inks can crack or peel depending on the device, ink, and media; Mimaki likewise identifies surface type and pretreatment as important factors. MUTOH recommends consistent digital-grade materials, proper preparation, and a sample adhesion test before committing to a job.

Run a cross-hatch-and-tape test
- On a representative test print, use a box knife to cut a cross pattern through the ink down to the substrate.
- Press packing tape firmly over the cuts.
- Pull the tape away quickly and inspect the print. Roland describes the best result as ink removed only inside the cuts.
If ink lifts broadly, treat the test as a failure and investigate the surface preparation, substrate suitability, and ink compatibility before printing production work. A box knife is sufficient to make the cuts; a dedicated cross-hatch adhesion test kit is optional.

Consider primer only when compatible
If peeling persists after material and preparation checks, a compatible adhesion promoter may help. Roland names SEM Products and Marabu as suppliers of promoters for different media types and notes that some Roland inksets offer an onboard adhesion-promoter option. Those are not universal recommendations: confirm compatibility with the exact printer, ink, and substrate before applying anything.

- 【High-Quality Images】Our UV DTF inks offer the advantage of producing high-quality images that are sharper and more vibrant, this is one of the most important considerations. Moreover, the colors stay vibrant and striking as well since UV DTF inks don't have components that evaporate, retaining 100% of the inks' deposits.
- 【Packing list】6 bottle 500ML UV DTF ink (CMKYWV); The colors are Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black, White, and Varnish Ink Digital Direct To Film Transfer Ink for Water-based Printhead.
- 【Compatible Printer】For i3200 L805 1390 DX4 DX5 DX6 DX7 DX10 TX800 XP600 Printhead and more UV DTF Printer.
- 【Application Materials】Wood, Chrome paper, PC, PET, PVC, ABS, Acrylic, Plastic, Leather, Rubber, Film, Disks, Glass, ceramic, Metal, Photo paper, Stone material, etc.
- 【Excellent Productivity】Since UV DTF inks cure almost instantly when exposed to UV light, projects are finished much faster and almost immediately after printing. This can allow businesses to produce higher volumes of prints compared to using conventional inks.UV DTF ink is widely used in various industries, such as packaging, labeling, signage, automotive, electronics, and promotional products.
How to fix uneven color
Check the printhead and job setup
Start with a nozzle test. Missing or deflected nozzles can alter color; follow the printer’s maintenance steps and retest. Then verify that the selected media, print mode or profile, and calibration match the job. Roland provides separate color-variation troubleshooting resources for supported VersaUV models. For systems using white ink, follow the printer maker’s dedicated white-ink maintenance guidance; its schedule and handling are equipment-specific.
Check media and flatbed setup
Inconsistent material surface properties, preparation, or placement can contribute to uneven results. On a flatbed printer, also check that the media lies correctly and that the jig is configured as its manual specifies. The Mimaki UJF-7151plus-series manual warns that reflective jig colors and unsuitable jig setup can cause stray UV reflections, nozzle malfunctions, uneven color, or curing inconsistencies on that machine. Treat this as model-specific guidance, not a rule for every flatbed printer.

What to check when ink seems under-cured
Check the operating environment and substrate against the specific printer and media instructions. Mimaki says low temperature can prevent UV ink from hardening and adhering optimally, dirty UV lamp glass can reduce irradiation, and additional UV irradiation may be required. Its FAQ gives 25°C–30°C as a recommended environment for that guidance; do not apply that range as a universal setting.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Inspect lamp glass and clean it only as the manufacturer directs. Do not increase exposure or change lamp settings unless the printer’s supported procedure and the substrate’s requirements allow it. Mimaki also cautions in its FAQ, “UV ink, once cured, may not adhere to all surfaces.” See Mimaki’s FAQ on UV ink not adhering to substrates.

Manufacturer guidance for the next diagnostic step
Use the official instructions that match your printer and symptom rather than applying a generic service-menu sequence. Roland’s resources for the LEF2-300 and LEC-300 include model-specific test-print, feed, alignment, banding, or color-variation guidance. Mimaki’s troubleshooting and maintenance FAQs cover staged nozzle diagnosis and white-ink care; consult the relevant page and the operation manual for your equipment before maintenance or setting changes.
