If Streamlabs Cloudbot is silent, first check whether the bot is enabled and properly connected to your platform; then test whether the problem affects every feature or just one command, timer, or loyalty payout. For a bot-wide failure, Streamlabs recommends restarting Cloudbot and reconnecting it. For a feature-specific failure, check that feature’s settings and requirements.
Start with the checks that identify the scope
Try a simple command and note what is failing: all Cloudbot responses, one command, timers, or loyalty points. If several features stopped together, prioritize connection and service checks. If other features still work, focus on the affected feature’s configuration.
- Enabled: Confirm Cloudbot is switched on for the platform you are streaming to.
- Permissions: Check that the bot account is a moderator. On Twitch, Streamlabs says to type
/mod Streamlabsin chat; if you use a custom bot name, moderate that account instead. For YouTube, add Streamlabs’ bot channel in YouTube Studio’s community settings. - Presence: On platforms that show a viewer list, check that the bot appears there.
- Basic response: Test a default command to see whether the bot responds at all.
For YouTube, the stream must be public for Cloudbot to join; Streamlabs says it will not join a private stream. For detailed setup context, see Streamlabs’ Quick Guide: Setting Up Streamlabs Cloudbot.
If Cloudbot does not respond anywhere
Once you have checked that the bot is enabled and has the required platform permissions, use Streamlabs’ restart and reconnection sequence before editing individual commands.

- Turn Cloudbot off.
- Wait 2–10 minutes, then turn Cloudbot back on.
- If you recently changed your account name, log out and back in to Streamlabs, then re-enable Cloudbot.
- If it is still unresponsive, unmod and remod the bot account, then disconnect and reconnect Streamlabs services.
If you use a custom-named bot or browser sources, also check that the custom bot account is the one with moderator permissions. Streamlabs suggests having an Alert Box in every scene in the collection; alternatively, you can launch an Alert Box widget in a browser and mute that browser if you do not want alerts in every scene. If a browser source appears stale, refresh its cache. These are conditional checks for custom-name or browser-source setups, not requirements for every Cloudbot user. Streamlabs cautions against using your personal Twitch username as the bot username.
If only one command fails
First establish whether Cloudbot itself is responding, then check the command that is failing. A default command or a basic unrestricted !test command helps distinguish a bot connection issue from a command-specific setting.

- Make sure the command is enabled and that chatters are using its exact trigger text.
- Check the command’s permission level against the person trying to use it.
- Review its cooldown in the Commands settings.
- If it costs loyalty points, confirm the user has enough points to use it.
- If a variable or parameter is not working, verify that Cloudbot supports it in that command’s section; some parameters are restricted to particular sections.
If timers do not trigger or collide
Cloudbot timers run in parallel, not in a queue. As Streamlabs explains, “Parallel timers means that if you have Timer A set for 5 minutes, and Timer B set for 5 minutes, they will both trigger simultaneously.” Intervals that share common multiples can therefore land together; for example, timers set to 10, 15, and 20 minutes coincide at common multiples.
Check that the timer is enabled and that it has met both its interval and line minimum. The line minimum counts messages in the previous five minutes of chat. If a timer is quiet, chat may not have reached that minimum even though enough time has passed. If posts bunch up, choose intervals that overlap less often. Streamlabs gives 5, 7, and 11 minutes as an example set—not a universal best schedule. For more detail, see its guide to Cloudbot timers, queue, and quotes. On YouTube, also confirm the stream is public.

If viewers are not receiving loyalty points
Check that loyalty is enabled, then review the payout interval and the live-user and active-user reward amounts. A zero amount for either payout means that category will not award points. Choose an interval that makes sense for the length of your stream: if the interval is longer than a session, viewers may not see a payout during that session.
Streamlabs’ loyalty guide says active-user payout stacks with live-user payout. YouTube has no viewer list for Cloudbot payouts, so a viewer who only lurks cannot receive points through the live-user payout; active users who type in chat can qualify for the active-user payout. If several Cloudbot features fail at once
When commands and timers fail together despite valid settings, treat it as a possible connection or service issue rather than assuming every feature broke independently. Run the connection checks and restart sequence above, then check Streamlabs’ current support notices or contact support.
Streamlabs reported an incident on September 4, 2025 affecting timers, default commands, and custom commands; it was marked resolved. That past incident does not establish that a current failure is an outage. If the problem remains, Streamlabs directs users to its Discord community or support ticket options through the Cloudbot troubleshooting page.
