Samsung has not published a failure rate for them in the cited support materials.
Before troubleshooting: check your A57 model and software
Firmware and support instructions can differ by model, country, and carrier. Find your model under Settings > About phone. Samsung’s support page lists an Android 16 manual for the SM-A576B family, while its software notices are specific to the SM-A576B and SM-A576U1 variants: Samsung Galaxy A57 support.

To check for an update, open Settings > Software update and tap Download and install, if available. As dated examples, Samsung’s SM-A576U1 notice lists Android 16, a September 16, 2026 release, and the September 5, 2026 security patch level; its SM-A576B notice lists Android 16, an August 31, 2026 release, and the August 5, 2026 patch level. These are variant-specific records, not a promise that every A57 has received the same update. Samsung says changes can vary by model, country, or network operator: SM-A576U1 update notice and SM-A576B update notice.

First find out whether the problem is the phone or the network. Try another device on the same Wi-Fi, then try the A57 on another known-working network. If other devices also cannot connect, check the router and internet service before changing phone settings.

- Confirm Wi-Fi is on in the phone’s quick settings or under Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi.
- Turn Wi-Fi off and back on, then reconnect to the network. If needed, select the network and choose Forget, then join again with the correct password.
- If the A57 still cannot connect, consider resetting network settings. This can remove saved network connections, so make sure you have the Wi-Fi password before proceeding. Menu wording can vary by software version; look in Settings for Reset network settings.
- Install any available software update and run diagnostics in the Samsung Members app.
If the phone fails on several known-good networks after these checks, contact Samsung support. Samsung’s indexed guidance covers general Galaxy Wi-Fi troubleshooting; it does not establish an A57-specific Wi-Fi defect. See the A57 support page for support resources.
Galaxy A57 charges slowly, intermittently, or not at all
Check the power source and accessories before assuming the phone needs repair. Try a known-good compatible wall outlet, adapter, and USB-C cable. Inspect the cable and connector for visible damage or debris, but do not insert tools or liquids into the phone’s port. The cited support materials do not establish one adapter wattage for every regional A57 model; consult the manual for your exact variant rather than relying on a generic charger rating.

- If charging is slow or cuts in and out: test another compatible cable, adapter, and outlet, changing one item at a time. Check for visible damage.
- If a moisture warning appears: disconnect the cable and let the device and connector dry safely. Do not force a connection or try to override the warning.
- If the phone appears intact: restart it and check for a software update.
- If there is unusual heat or visible damage: stop charging and seek Samsung service. Do the same for a damaged port or a moisture warning that persists.
Samsung’s support listings address slow or interrupted charging, moisture alerts, and port debris, but those topics are general Galaxy guidance rather than proof of a widespread A57 fault. See the Samsung A57 support page.
An app crashes, freezes, or will not update
Work out whether the issue affects one app or several. If only one app is misbehaving, begin with that app; if multiple apps are affected, check the phone’s software and overall responsiveness too.

- Open the Google Play Store, search for the affected app, and install an available update.
- Restart the phone, then try the app again.
- Check Settings > Software update for an available system update.
- If only that app remains affected, consult its publisher for app-specific help.
Samsung’s indexed support material includes app update management and broader Galaxy troubleshooting, but does not identify a specific A57 app-compatibility bug. The A57 support page is a starting point for Samsung help.
The phone is slow or unresponsive

- Restart the phone.
- Install the software update available for your exact model and region.
- Close apps you are not using and free up storage space.
- Run diagnostics in Samsung Members.
- If the slowdown began immediately after installing an app, investigate that app first.
A factory reset erases personal data, so treat it as a last resort: back up the phone and seek official support advice before proceeding. Samsung’s general support guidance does not establish a factory reset as a necessary fix for a particular A57 problem.

Seek help if Wi-Fi fails across multiple known-good networks after the basic checks, charging remains unreliable with compatible known-good accessories, a moisture warning persists, or the phone has unusual heat or physical damage.
