If your Samsung Galaxy A37 5G is draining battery, lagging, or losing a connection, first identify whether the problem affects one app or accessory, the phone generally, or the network. Then work through reversible checks—battery and storage review, restart, updates, and connection-specific troubleshooting—before considering a reset or repair. Samsung’s support topics cover these symptoms separately; they do not establish that every A37 has a common defect.
Start with a quick diagnosis
Note when the symptom began and what changed around that time: a new app, software update, settings change, SIM change, or move to a different network. For connectivity, distinguish Wi-Fi trouble from mobile data, calls, and Bluetooth. If possible, check whether another device has the same network problem or whether the A37 works with another network or accessory.

- Battery: Is charge dropping mainly during screen use or while the phone is idle? Which apps top the battery-usage list?
- Performance: Does the whole phone lag, or only one app? Did it start after an app installation?
- Connectivity: Is the failure limited to one Wi-Fi network, one SIM/area, or one Bluetooth accessory?
These checks help choose the relevant fix; a battery complaint alone does not prove the battery is faulty.

Check battery use and Device care
Open Settings and look for Device care or Battery; names and placement can vary by software version and region. Review battery usage to see which apps are consuming power, then run Device care’s Quick optimization if available. Samsung’s A37 guide describes this feature as identifying apps with excessive battery use, clearing unnecessary items, closing background apps, and scanning for malware. If an app you do not need continuously is using substantial power, restrict its background activity using the available background-usage controls. Power saving can reduce background network activity, syncing, or location checks, so it may delay notifications or updates. Use it when that trade-off is acceptable rather than leaving it on automatically.
Compare screen-on and idle drain
High use while streaming, navigating, gaming, or keeping the screen bright may point to workload or display time rather than an idle fault. If the phone loses charge while unused, inspect background app activity and recent changes. Google’s general Android guidance also suggests reducing unnecessary location or connectivity use. Airplane mode is only suitable when you do not need mobile service; Wi-Fi may be a practical alternative to mobile data where available. See Google’s battery-drain troubleshooting guidance.
Restart, update, then reassess
Restart the phone, check for available Android and app updates, and observe whether the drain continues under similar use. A newly set-up phone or one recently updated may have temporary background activity, so compare over time instead of judging from a single short period. If the problem remains, use Samsung Members diagnostics, if available on your device, and contact Samsung support for assessment. Battery replacement is a service decision after diagnosis, not the first troubleshooting step.

Why is my Galaxy A37 slow, freezing, or lagging?
Clear routine bottlenecks
Restart the phone, install available software updates, check free storage, and use Device care to close background apps or free memory. Samsung lists these as slow-device troubleshooting steps and provides Samsung Members diagnostics. Avoid deleting files you need simply to create space; first review what is using storage.
Use safe mode to check downloaded apps
If lag began after installing an app, safe mode can help isolate the cause. Google explains that safe mode temporarily disables downloaded apps; if the problem disappears there, a downloaded app is likely involved. Follow Samsung’s instructions for entering safe mode on your software version, then remove or re-enable recent apps one at a time to identify the cause. Safe-mode steps can vary by model and software; Google’s overview is at Fix a phone that freezes or is slow.
Reserve a factory reset for last
A factory reset removes downloaded apps and their data. Consider it only after less destructive checks, and only after making and verifying a backup of anything you need. If the phone remains slow after a reset, or freezes during ordinary use, contact Samsung rather than repeatedly resetting it.

Why won’t my Galaxy A37 connect to Wi-Fi?
Separate phone trouble from router or service trouble
Check whether other devices can use the same Wi-Fi network, and whether the A37 can connect to another known network. If other devices also fail on the first network, the router or internet service is a more likely place to investigate; if the A37 fails across networks, focus on the phone.

- On the A37, open Settings and go to Connections > Wi-Fi (labels may vary), select the network, and reconnect. If needed, forget the saved network and enter its password again.
- Restart the phone. If appropriate, restart the router and check its status and the internet service.
- Install available phone updates and run Samsung Members diagnostics if available.
- If the issue persists, consider a network settings reset using the option in Settings. Read the on-screen notice first: reset options and what they clear can vary.
For trouble affecting multiple devices on the same network, contact the network administrator or internet provider. Google recommends those escalation paths for persistent connection issues; see Android connection troubleshooting.
What to do about mobile data, dropped calls, no signal, or an undetected SIM
First identify which symptom applies: no service, slow mobile data, calls dropping, or the phone failing to detect the SIM. Check that the line is active and airplane mode is off, restart, and see whether reception changes in another location. This helps distinguish a local coverage or outage issue from a phone setting or SIM problem.

- Check the phone’s mobile connection settings and whether the carrier reports an outage or account issue.
- If the SIM is not detected, check its status in Settings if that option is available. Power down before reseating a physical SIM, and do not force it. Ask the carrier about a replacement SIM if the problem continues.
- Samsung’s A37 support topics include resetting mobile network settings and checking APN configuration. Use reset controls only after reading their on-screen consequences.
- Ask the carrier to confirm APN values and network provisioning before changing them. APN settings are carrier-specific; one configuration is not universal.
- Run Samsung Members diagnostics if available. If service problems persist across locations or devices, contact the carrier; for suspected phone hardware trouble, contact Samsung or an authorized service provider.

Confirm the accessory is charged, in pairing mode, and not connected to another device. Remove its saved pairing from the A37 and pair again. Update both devices where possible, then run Samsung Members diagnostics if available.

When to contact Samsung or your carrier
- Contact the carrier for account or provisioning questions, suspected outages, APN confirmation, or persistent mobile-service problems.
- Contact the network administrator or internet provider when multiple devices cannot use the same Wi-Fi network.
- Contact Samsung or an authorized service provider when diagnostics or repeated symptoms suggest a battery or hardware fault, or when phone problems persist after updates and reversible checks.
Samsung lists Samsung Members device and connectivity diagnostics and repair support on its A37 support pages. Availability of diagnostics and exact menu labels can differ by country, carrier, and software version.
Check the update for your exact A37 variant
Firmware is regional and carrier-dependent. Samsung’s SM-A376B update record lists Android 16, build A376BXXS5AZH4, released September 8, 2026, with the August 5, 2026 security patch. That record applies to the SM-A376B listing and should not be assumed to describe every A37 5G variant. Check Settings > Software update on your phone and confirm its exact model variant. Samsung notes that changes may vary by model, country, and network operator: Samsung software update information for SM-A376B.
