Restart the Echo Show first
Unplug the Echo Show, wait 30 seconds, and reconnect it using the included power adapter. Give it time to restart and check whether the problem has cleared. Amazon advises restarting before a full reset; see Reset Your Echo Devices with a Screen.

Fix an Echo Show that will not connect to Wi-Fi
Check whether the problem affects the whole network
Try connecting a phone, computer, or other device to the same Wi-Fi network. If that device also cannot connect, the issue may be with the router, modem, or internet service rather than the Echo Show. Restart the router and modem; if other devices remain offline, contact your internet service provider.

If other devices connect, check the Echo Show’s connection
- Confirm that the Echo Show is using the correct Wi-Fi password.
- Move it within Amazon’s suggested 30 feet (10 meters) of the router.
- Move it away from potential sources of interference, such as microwaves or baby monitors.

Change the saved Wi-Fi network or password
If you changed your network name or password, update the connection on the Echo Show itself. Amazon directs owners of Echo devices with screens to change Wi-Fi settings on the device, rather than relying on the Alexa app. Menu labels can vary by model and software version; follow the on-screen settings or the instructions for your model in Update the Wi-Fi Settings for Your Echo Device.
If setup still fails
Confirm that your internet connection works. If you are using the Alexa app as part of setup, check that it is up to date, then restart the Echo Show and try again. Amazon lists these checks in Set Up Doesn’t Work on Your Echo Device. Consider a reset only after the simpler steps have failed.

Fix a frozen or unresponsive touchscreen
Try a restart before assuming the screen has failed
Unplug the Echo Show, wait 30 seconds, and reconnect it using its included adapter. A frozen screen alone does not establish that the display hardware is faulty.
Reset only if you can navigate the screen
If touch works well enough to open settings and restarting did not help, consult the support instructions for your exact Echo Show model before choosing an on-screen factory reset. Use the button reset only if it matches your model
Amazon documents a button reset for Echo devices with screens: hold Microphones & Camera Disable/Enable and Volume Down until the Amazon logo appears, which takes approximately 15 seconds, then follow the on-screen prompts. Button behavior can vary across generations. Check the instructions for your model before trying this method; it requires the buttons and screen prompts to be usable.
If touch remains completely unresponsive
Amazon’s general screen-device guidance does not establish a touchscreen-specific repair procedure. Use the Echo Show support hub to find help for your model, or contact Amazon support and describe the exact symptom. Do not assume that a particular repair, calibration, or replacement part will fix it.

Choose the next step without losing settings unnecessarily
- Wi-Fi fails on multiple devices: troubleshoot the router or modem and contact your ISP if the outage continues.
- Only the Echo Show has trouble connecting: check its saved password, distance from the router, and possible interference; update Wi-Fi on the device if the network credentials changed.
- The screen is frozen: restart first. Reset only when the model’s instructions fit and you are prepared to set up the device again.
- Touch does not work at all after restarting: seek model-specific Amazon support rather than trying undocumented repair steps.
Amazon’s accessible help covers general Echo troubleshooting and may not include every model, software release, or touchscreen fault. When menus or button behavior differ, use the support instructions for the exact Echo Show generation.
