Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown is scheduled to release on October 29, 2026. Until the release time for your region, a preorder may not be downloadable or playable. After launch, check the purchase account, platform, base-game edition, and add-on status before trying platform troubleshooting. The expansion had not launched as of October 3, 2026, so title-specific installation errors and fixes are not yet established.
Check whether the DLC is available in your region
Pearl Abyss delayed Charting the Unknown and announced this release schedule: October 29, 2026, at 22:00 UTC in Europe; October 29 at 15:00 PT and 18:00 ET in North America; and October 30 at 07:00 KST/JST in Asia. Compare your local time and storefront availability with the appropriate regional release time before troubleshooting. Preordering does not mean the expansion is already available to download or play.

Pearl Abyss said the extra development time was needed “to deliver a more polished and stable gameplay experience.” The publisher also noted that the DLC may be unavailable in some markets because of content-rating requirements. If your regional store does not show it at launch, check the store listing and publisher notices before assuming your installation is broken.

Confirm the purchase, account, and game match
Once the DLC is released, verify that the transaction completed and that you are signed into the account that made the purchase. Pearl Abyss announced preorders through PlayStation Store, Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store. Check the library on the same storefront where you bought the expansion; do not assume that ownership carries over to another store or platform.

- Confirm the DLC appears as owned in the purchasing account’s library or transaction history.
- Make sure you are using the same platform and storefront where you bought it.
- Check that you own the compatible base game on that platform. The Steam listing specifically says Charting the Unknown requires ownership of Crimson Desert Enhanced on Steam.
- Check that the add-on is listed as installed, or start its download from the library if it is owned but not installed.
Store listings and availability can vary by market. If the add-on is missing from your regional store, or the base game and DLC appear to be different editions or platforms, contact the relevant storefront before repeating downloads.
Steam: check DLC status and repair download issues
The steps below are general Steam troubleshooting, not confirmed fixes for Charting the Unknown. Try them only after the DLC is available and you have confirmed the correct Steam account owns both the expansion and the required base game.

- Restart Steam and your computer. Reopen Steam and check the game’s Library entry for an available DLC download or update.
- Check the DLC entry. In Steam Library, open the game’s properties and inspect the DLC section for ownership and installation status.
- Clear the download cache if Steam reports a download or update problem. Steam’s download settings provide the cache-clearing option. You will need to sign in to Steam again afterward.
- Repair the Library folder. Use Steam’s storage or library settings to run the repair option for the library containing the game.
- Verify local game files. In the game’s Library properties, run Steam’s file verification option and allow it to finish before trying again.
- Try another download region. If downloads are failing or stalled, change the download region in Steam’s download settings, restart Steam, and retry.
Steam documents these as general procedures for download, library, and file problems; they do not establish that any one step resolves an issue with this unreleased expansion.

- Open the main game’s library entry and look for the owned add-on to download it.
- Check transaction history and Add-Ons status to confirm the purchase completed and the DLC belongs to the account you are using.
- If you own the base game on disc, check region compatibility. PlayStation advises that the disc region must match the account’s store region for DLC compatibility.
- Check where the content appears in-game. Some add-ons may not show up as a separate item on the console home screen; consult the game or publisher’s launch information for how this content unlocks.
- If the owned add-on still does not appear, restart the console and try restoring licenses. Reinstalling may be a later troubleshooting step if the add-on remains unavailable.
Epic Games Store or Microsoft Store/Xbox: use platform-specific support
Pearl Abyss named Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store among the preorder storefronts, but platform-specific installation instructions for this DLC are not established. Check the current support guidance for the store and platform you used, and report unresolved problems to Pearl Abyss. Do not apply Steam menu steps to another storefront.
