If your Beats Studio Buds+ won’t connect, first check charge, distance and audio output. If they still fail, remove the saved Bluetooth pairing and pair them again; reset the earbuds only after those steps. A missing setup animation is not a blocker—you can pair manually.
Identify what is failing
The next step depends on what you see in Bluetooth settings:

- The Beats do not appear: put both earbuds in the case, open the lid and enter pairing mode using the case system button.
- The Beats appear but will not connect: forget or unpair the saved entry, then pair again.
- The Beats say connected but there is no sound: check whether audio is routed to another output.
Apple’s troubleshooting guide covers these checks but does not rank the possible causes: If you can’t connect to your wireless Beats product.
Check power, distance and interference
Charge the Studio Buds+ and the device you’re connecting to, and make sure both are turned on. Keep them within 30 feet of each other. Apple also recommends moving away from other Bluetooth devices, microwaves, wireless routers and other electronics while troubleshooting.

Check the audio output if they connect without sound
A Bluetooth connection does not guarantee that the host device is sending sound to the earbuds. Open the device’s sound settings and select Beats Studio Buds+ as the output; choose them as the input too if you need to use their microphones and the device offers that setting. Apple recommends testing a downloaded track rather than a streamed one while checking playback.
Forget the saved pairing, then reconnect
Remove the old Beats entry from the device’s Bluetooth settings before pairing again. The precise menu wording may differ by operating system version.

Pair Studio Buds+ manually
You do not need an iPhone setup animation to connect the earbuds. Apple’s pairing guide supports manual Bluetooth pairing on Apple devices, Android and other Bluetooth-enabled devices.

- On the device you want to connect, open its Bluetooth settings and select Beats Studio Buds+ from the available devices.
- On Android, Apple’s guide gives the path as Settings > Connections > Bluetooth; select the Beats and tap Pair. On other devices, use their Bluetooth pairing flow.
See Apple’s Pair Beats guide. Setting names can vary by device and operating system, and feature availability can vary by country or region.
Reset the Studio Buds+ if pairing still fails
If manual pairing and removing the old pairing do not help, reset the earbuds using Apple’s instructions specifically for Studio Buds+. The system button is on the charging case. Reset steps and button timings differ between Beats models, so do not substitute instructions for another model.

- Custom acoustic platform delivers powerful, balanced sound
- Control your sound with two distinct listening modes: Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) and Transparency mode
- Three soft ear tip sizes for a stable and comfortable fit while ensuring an optimum acoustic seal
- Up to 8 hours of listening time (up to 24 hours combined with pocket-sized charging case)
- Industry-leading Class 1 Bluetooth for extended range and fewer dropouts
After the reset, pair the earbuds again using the manual steps above. Follow Apple’s Reset Beats guide. Apple advises contacting Apple Support if you cannot reset them or reset problems persist. A reset may not resolve a hardware fault.
Check for a firmware update after reconnecting
Firmware is a later check because the earbuds need to connect before you can inspect or update them. Apple says updates are delivered automatically over the air on Apple devices and are made available through the Beats app on Android. Keep the earbuds within Bluetooth range and allow at least 30 minutes for an update on an Apple device. If the update still fails, Apple recommends resetting the Beats and trying again.
Consult Apple’s current Update Beats guide for device-specific instructions; supported software and menu details can change.
