Then make one reversible change at a time and compare usage under similar conditions. Xiaomi’s published materials do not establish a specific Redmi Note 15 Pro battery-drain defect or a guaranteed fix, so the phone’s model variant, region and installed HyperOS version matter.
Check battery usage before changing settings
- Open Settings > Battery, or the equivalent battery page on your installed HyperOS build.
- Review the usage breakdown and note the apps and system entries using the most power. If possible, record the percentages and the period shown on screen.
- Look for a third-party app that stands out compared with your normal use. Do not force-stop unfamiliar system processes; their names and roles may not be obvious from the usage list alone.

Try reversible software steps
Update apps and check for a normal system update
Update apps through their usual app store. Check the phone’s built-in system updater and install a stable update only if it is offered there. The available Xiaomi information does not confirm any particular update as a Redmi Note 15 Pro battery fix; note the installed HyperOS version and when the drain began so you can compare behavior afterward.

Use Battery Saver as a short comparison test
Turn on Battery Saver temporarily and compare battery use with a similar period of ordinary use. Xiaomi says Battery Saver can reduce apps’ background activity, stop sync and minimize system animations. Address an app that dominates usage
If one third-party app consistently accounts for unusually high use, update it first. If the problem remains, use the app or battery controls available on your phone to restrict its background activity. Check afterward whether notifications, uploads or syncing are delayed; restore the previous setting if the restriction disrupts something you need.
Allow for a recent setup or update without assuming a fixed timeline
If the change began just after setting up the phone or installing an update, record when it started and observe ordinary use before concluding that a lasting fault exists. The available Xiaomi materials do not specify a model-specific settling period, so there is no established number of hours or days to wait. If the drain is severe or accompanied by heat or other warning signs, do not rely on waiting or settings changes alone.

Know which Redmi Note 15 Pro specifications apply to your region
Published battery figures differ across Xiaomi’s regional product information and should not be treated as one universal specification. Xiaomi’s UK FAQ lists a dual-cell lithium-polymer battery rated at 6,350 mAh and typical at 6,500 mAh for its FAQ variant. Xiaomi India’s Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G page lists 6,580 mAh. These are manufacturer capacity specifications, not independent endurance tests or evidence that a particular phone is draining abnormally.

The UK FAQ says its first batch runs Xiaomi HyperOS 2.2 on Android 15, while the India page lists HyperOS 3 on Android 15. Check Settings > About phone for the version installed on your device, and use Xiaomi’s support information for your region. The 45 W charger and wireless-charging details describe charging, not remedies for unexpected discharge.

When to seek service
Contact Xiaomi support or an authorized repair service if rapid loss persists after basic checks, the displayed percentage drops abruptly, the phone becomes unusually hot, the battery appears swollen, or charging is troublesome. Stop relying on settings tweaks as a diagnosis in those cases. Do not open the handset or install an unverified replacement battery.
