- Open Settings > Battery. Depending on your Fold and software version, look for View details, the battery graph, or the battery-usage screen.
- Review the graph and app list. Check which apps used power and whether the drain occurred while the screen was on or off.
- Look for an app with unusually high background use compared with how much you used it. Consider when the drain began and whether it coincides with a recently installed or updated app.

What should I change first to stop the drain?
Update the phone and apps
Check Settings > Software update and install available updates. Some devices or carriers label the option System updates. Also check for app updates in both Galaxy Store and Google Play Store. Sleep apps that do not need background access
Use the battery or Device care settings to put infrequently used apps to sleep. Deep sleep is more restrictive: Samsung says deep-sleeping apps only work when opened, so they may not provide timely background activity or notifications.

Use Power saving mode as a short-term measure
Turn on Power saving mode from Battery settings or the Quick panel. Depending on the options you select, it can limit background activity and affect syncing, mobile data, location, display behavior, or performance. Reduce display and network demand
- Lower brightness and shorten the screen timeout if the display is a major part of your use.
- Notice whether battery use worsens in weak or overlapping signal areas, during 5G use, or while using location services.
- Check whether long sessions with high-resolution streaming or other demanding apps line up with the drain.

It may. Samsung Gulf says new Galaxy devices can use more power during initial setup and background activity, and its guidance includes the Z Fold family. How can I check whether the Z Fold battery is aging?
- Open the Samsung Members app.
- Go to Support or Diagnostics, then Phone diagnostics. The route and labels can vary by app version.
- Select Battery status and follow the diagnostic prompts.
Samsung says lithium-ion batteries naturally degrade over time.
