Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →To fix audio and video delay in XSplit Broadcaster, identify which two signals are out of sync and whether the audio or video arrives first. Then adjust the appropriate source’s Offset (ms) or the audio device’s Delay, and verify the result in a local recording. There is no universal delay value: capture-card and device latency varies by setup.
Identify what is out of sync
First, determine which pair of signals is mismatched: a camera’s picture and its own sound, a separate microphone and camera video, or game/system sound and captured video. Note whether audio is early or late. The right control depends on how the affected audio entered XSplit.

- Make a short local recording that includes the affected sources.
- Review the recording to establish which signal leads or lags. Monitoring what you hear live may not reflect the timing in the recorded or streamed output.
- Check how the audio source was added: as part of a Camera/Capture Card source, as a separate audio device, or through XSplit’s Audio settings.
Choose the right XSplit sync control
| What is out of sync | Where to adjust | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Separate audio device, such as a microphone, against camera video | Open the audio source’s properties and adjust Offset (ms). | Check whether it is routed as Stream Only or System Sound, especially if monitoring and stream audio differ. XSplit: Audio Device |
| Camera/capture-card video against audio associated with that source | Open the Camera/Capture Card source’s properties and adjust Offset (ms). | Available device controls vary by source. Check the selected audio input as well. XSplit: Camera |
| System sound or microphone captured through XSplit’s Audio settings needs to arrive later | In Audio settings, select the relevant device and enable its Delay control. | Confirm that the intended device is selected before changing its delay. XSplit: Audio Settings |
Labels and locations may differ by XSplit version. Use the control documented for the way your signal is added rather than applying multiple delay settings at once.

For a separate audio device
- Open the audio source’s properties and locate Offset (ms).
- Change the value in small increments, recording after each adjustment.
- Review the recording and keep the value that brings the audio into sync with the camera video.
For a Camera/Capture Card source
- Open the source’s properties and inspect its offset and selected audio input.
- If the source’s picture and associated audio disagree, adjust its Offset (ms) in small increments.
- Record and review again before making another change.
For system sound or microphone captured in Audio settings
- Confirm the correct device is selected in Audio settings.
- Enable that device’s Delay control if the captured audio needs to arrive later.
- Make a local recording and check the result before further adjustment.
XSplit’s company-authored guide recommends checking microphone and webcam audio together in a recording: “When reviewing your recording, make sure your microphone audio and webcam audio are in sync.” The guide, Setting Video and Audio Delays on Camera Sources, was published March 2, 2016; its timing-measurement advice remains useful, though its interface directions may not match every current version.
#1 Best Overall
- [XLR Mic Input] One XLR microphone input interface is set on the gaming audio mixer, which is great to up your audio quality with your XLR setup. The XLR mixer is a stepping stone to upgrade your live streaming. Audio mixer offered built-in 48V phantom power which opens up more choices for mics. Four independent channels set on the DJ mixer give audio volume of the MICROPHONE, LINE IN, HEADPHONE, and LINE OUT channels individual control. Configurable on the PC audio mixer instead of just operating on your game or streaming software.
- [Mute and Monitor] The front mute and monitor buttons but not at the back, make it easier to get the audio interface use. Ability to mute audio, the audio mixer for streaming prevents background noise from damaging your live broadcast. Real-time feedback between speaking and hearing will not distract your attention, which encourage you to speak more confidently. The sturdy-built control button allow you to operate freely and easily during live streaming.
- [Sound Effects] The computer sound mixer supports four pre-recorded customized button that can be recorded and activated at the press of button to post production. 6 kinds of voice changing modes change your output style. 12 auto tune changes the tone of your voice. The podcast mixer being able to add different and fun effects is a huge bonus for your streaming or game voice.
- [Controllable Vibrant RGB] RGB button on the audio mixer DJ meets different live streaming themes. Lights on the video mixer is vibrant but not harsh on your eyes. Flowing or frozen RGB color rotation in a decent pace presents a greatly strong impression as a "light show" to your audience. Even a streaming equipment accessory will not be dull looking when video production.
Measure capture-card latency instead of guessing
A capture card can add latency between a live source and the feed XSplit receives. The amount depends on the particular setup, so do not copy someone else’s offset value.
- Compare the live feed with the capture-card feed using a clear timing cue, such as a visible action that coincides with a sound.
- Measure the difference for your setup, using the capture-card maker’s documentation where available or timing the feeds manually.
- Convert the measured difference to milliseconds and compensate using the relevant source control.
- Record locally and review the microphone, webcam audio, and capture feed together. Refine the value in small increments if needed.
Troubleshoot persistent or changing sync problems
- A camera’s picture is out of sync with its own audio: Check the Camera/Capture Card source’s offset and selected audio input.
- A separate microphone is out of sync with camera video: If the microphone was added as an audio device, check its source Offset (ms). If it is captured through Audio settings, check that device’s Delay instead.
- Game or system sound is late relative to captured video: Check the system-sound capture delay and confirm that audio is routed as intended.
- The mismatch grows, appears intermittently, or comes with stuttering: Check which Windows audio devices are selected and whether CPU or GPU load is affecting performance. XSplit identifies resource limits as a possible cause of poor frame rate or stuttering; that does not establish that resource load causes every sync problem. See XSplit: Audio Issues.
- The capture device is unavailable, not merely delayed: Close other applications that may be using it, refresh the source, and reconnect the device. These are device-availability steps, not sync adjustments.
- You can hear the mix but cannot judge its final balance comfortably: Headphones can help monitor XSplit’s final audio preview, but they do not correct source timing on their own.
