After an ARC Raiders update, first match the problem to its timing and symptom: Embark’s October 8, 2026 Frozen Trail 2.0 notes list performance and stability optimizations and fix a crash when changing graphics settings, but do not identify a general PC stuttering or low-FPS regression. That does not rule out individual problems. Check the relevant official notice before changing drivers or Windows settings, then use the symptom-specific steps below.
Start with the update and the exact symptom
Note whether the issue began after a game patch, a Windows update, or a GPU-driver change. Also distinguish a crash from a launch failure, sustained low frame rate, intermittent frame-time hitching, or network lag; they can feel similar but point to different causes.

- Record your platform and, on PC, whether you use Steam.
- Write down the game patch, GPU and CPU, driver version, exact error message, and when the problem occurs.
- Check Embark’s current patch notes and known issues before trying configuration changes. Official notes are stronger evidence than an anecdotal fix, but an issue missing from the list may still affect you.
If it crashes while changing graphics settings
Embark’s October 8, 2026 Frozen Trail 2.0 notes say a crash that could occur while changing graphics settings was fixed. Make sure the update has finished downloading, restart the game client, and retry the same settings change. If it still crashes, record the platform, error message, and whether the crash happens only during that action, then contact ARC Raiders support. The patch note documents a fix for that case; it does not establish that every settings-related or other crash is resolved.

If the game crashes after a Windows update
Embark has separately reported PC crashes associated with Windows Update KB5121003 and directed players to an official workaround while it investigates. Compare your update timing and symptoms with Embark’s current official notices and follow the current instructions there. The workaround’s steps are not reproduced here, so do not remove a Windows update or make other operating-system changes based on an unverified description.

If ARC Raiders will not launch on Steam
Embark’s August 11, 2026 Steam hotfix targeted a variety of launch crashes and errors. Restart Steam so it can apply available game updates, then try launching again. If the error remains, capture its exact wording and contact official support rather than applying a broad configuration change that may not match your case. The hotfix was aimed at a range of launch problems; it is not a guarantee for every launch failure.
If the game launches but FPS is unusually low
In a June 16, 2026 advisory, Embark said some PC players might experience lower-than-usual FPS and recommended checking GPU drivers; if the issue persisted, it suggested considering a rollback to a previous driver version. This is dated developer guidance, not a guaranteed fix or an instruction to install a beta driver. Check current official notes before changing drivers, and only consider a rollback when the timing supports a driver-related cause.

To narrow it down, note whether low FPS began immediately after the game or driver update, whether it occurs only in ARC Raiders, and whether it affects all maps or particular situations. The October 8, 2026 notes also list an upgrade to AMD FSR version 4.1.1. That is a version detail, not a published FPS measurement or a promised improvement.
If the problem is intermittent stuttering
Embark’s October 8, 2026 notes describe general performance and stability optimizations, including reduced enemy memory use in busy encounters. They do not publish a universal stutter fix, expected frame-time target, or benchmark showing that all stuttering is eliminated.

Describe what you observe: brief frame-time hitches, consistently low FPS, or apparent network lag. Include your platform, patch version, GPU and CPU, driver version, and when or where the hitching occurs in a support report. Avoid applying a low-FPS recommendation automatically if your average FPS is normal and the issue is intermittent.

Restarting a client and checking for official updates are low-risk checks. Driver rollback and operating-system changes are more consequential: use them only when the symptom and timing provide a clear reason, and follow current instructions. The published notices do not establish that buying a GPU, PC, cable, peripheral, cooling device, or repair tool would fix these reports.
