Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Start by matching the exact interruption time with YouTube Live Control Room’s stream-health message and your cloud encoder or service logs. Then check the outbound connection, bitrate, keyframe interval and YouTube destination. A disconnect from an India-based cloud host does not, by itself, show that India is the cause: the available official guidance points to general network, endpoint and encoder issues, not an India-specific problem.
First identify what is sending the stream
The fix depends on whether you control the encoder or use a managed loop service. With OBS or FFmpeg on a cloud VM, you can inspect its settings, logs and outbound network. With a managed service that accepts uploaded videos or playlists, the provider controls the encoder and route; use its status information and support rather than changing settings on your home network.

- Self-managed cloud VM: collect the VM’s encoder logs and outbound measurements.
- Managed loop service: collect the service’s event or connection logs, then ask its support to investigate the recorded times.
Record the failure evidence before changing settings
- Write down the exact time of each interruption and the time zone.
- Open YouTube Live Control Room and capture the complete stream-health message, not just a note that the stream disconnected. YouTube lists distinct indications for bitrate problems, long keyframes, codec or frame-rate mismatches, and insufficient incoming video; use the corrective direction shown for the specific message. YouTube’s stream health messages
- At the same timestamps, check the encoder log and cloud VM or service events for disconnects, restarts, timeouts or resource interruptions.
- Change one setting at a time, then compare the next run’s logs, dropped-frame count and YouTube health status. This makes it possible to tell whether a change helped.
Check whether the cloud sender can sustain the stream
Measure sustained outbound capacity from the VM or system that actually sends the video. A download-speed result or a speed test from home does not establish the cloud VM’s upload capacity or route to YouTube. YouTube says the total stream bitrate must fit available upload bandwidth and recommends leaving 20% headroom; count a backup stream too if the encoder sends one. YouTube’s streaming tips

It also automatically finds and deletes similar or duplicate photo, backs up live photos and allows you to share them with your friends or family with just one tap. Everything stays effortlessly organized, powered by intelligent tagging and recognition.
Reduce load methodically
- If the measured outbound link is unstable or too limited for the configured bitrate, lower the bitrate first.
- If interruptions persist, reduce resolution or frame rate and run another test.
- Compare the result against the same YouTube health message and encoder logs. Avoid changing several settings at once, which obscures the cause.
Verify bitrate, keyframes and encoder format
YouTube recommends constant bitrate (CBR) and a two-second keyframe interval, with keyframes no more than four seconds apart. These are encoder targets; they do not establish that a particular cloud route can sustain the chosen bitrate. YouTube’s live encoder settings
| Output | YouTube recommended bitrate for AV1 or H.265 | YouTube recommended bitrate for H.264 |
|---|---|---|
| 720p at 30 fps | 6 Mbps | 8 Mbps |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 10 Mbps | 14 Mbps |
These are YouTube’s listed recommendations, not India-specific network thresholds or guarantees of uninterrupted delivery. Match the recommendation to the codec and output you actually use, then confirm the cloud sender has sufficient sustained capacity and headroom. YouTube encoder settings

Confirm the destination, RTMPS transport and stream key
For a custom encoder or API integration, verify the full YouTube RTMPS destination and application path rather than assuming an RTMP address will work. RTMPS uses TLS on port 443, and a custom client must present the correct server name through SNI. Google notes that a client can time out if it sends cleartext RTMP to a YouTube server expecting RTMPS. Google’s RTMPS ingestion guide
- Check the configured destination and protocol against the RTMPS endpoint your setup is meant to use.
- For a custom client, confirm TLS, port 443 and the expected hostname/SNI.
- Check the stream key separately for a typo or mismatch. Keep it private; do not share it in screenshots, support posts or logs.
Isolate an encoder or network-path problem
OBS describes dropped frames as a sign that the connection to the remote server is unstable or the sender cannot keep up with its configured bitrate. That points to a connection or capacity problem; it does not, by itself, identify YouTube, OBS, India or a cloud provider as the cause. OBS troubleshooting guide

If you control OBS on the cloud VM
- Use the VM’s logs and network measurements to check for interruptions at the failure times. Where available, try a different ingest server and compare results using the same settings.
- Check whether VPN, security or network-optimizer software, outdated drivers, unstable Wi-Fi, or network-path hardware is relevant to the machine that actually sends the stream. OBS lists these as possible causes for setups it can diagnose.
- Some OBS suggestions are Windows-specific, including network optimizations or TCP pacing, binding to the default IP, IPv4-only testing and dynamic bitrate. Apply them only when you control a compatible OBS host. Dynamic bitrate may reduce dropped frames by lowering quality; it does not repair the underlying network cause.
If a managed service controls the sender
Use that service’s connection status, event logs and support channel. Local router changes or a home speed test cannot diagnose a route controlled by the service. Ask support to check the failure timestamps and the service’s YouTube connection.
Compare routes only with matched tests
If repeated evidence points to a particular cloud route or provider, compare another ingest server or provider with the same stream settings and record the outcomes. The official guidance cited here does not establish that India or an India-based region is inherently unsuitable; geography is a reason to test a route, not a diagnosis.

Keep a recoverable recording separately
A live broadcast staying online and having a recoverable archive are separate goals. YouTube warns that a live stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all and recommends keeping a local archive as a backup. If you record, check that the archive file is still growing and verify its integrity. YouTube’s archive guidance and streaming tips
Common symptoms and next checks
| What you see | What to check next |
|---|---|
| YouTube reports high bitrate or the stream drops under load | Measure sustained outbound capacity at the cloud sender, leave YouTube’s recommended headroom, then lower bitrate if needed. |
| YouTube reports long keyframes or a GOP issue | Set CBR and a two-second keyframe interval; do not exceed four seconds. |
| YouTube reports codec, frame-rate or video-ingestion issues | Compare the configured output format and frame rate with the stream-health message, then check the encoder log for interruptions or unsupported settings. |
| A custom client connects but times out without a useful response | Confirm it uses RTMPS with TLS on port 443 and the correct hostname/SNI, rather than cleartext RTMP. |
| Dropped frames appear in OBS | Investigate the sender’s network stability and bitrate capacity; test another ingest server where available and compare logs. |
| A managed loop service disconnects | Use its service logs and support, since you may not control its encoder or outbound route. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is continuous playback of uploaded recordings rather than diagnosing a self-managed OBS or VPS route, StreamNeo is a managed YouTube loop-stream service: upload a video or playlist, add your YouTube stream key and go live. It runs from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. Uploaded quality streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; StreamNeo says it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month. For Indian users, UPI works. This is an alternative for cloud-hosted prerecorded playback, not a diagnosis or repair of an existing OBS or VPS route fault.
