Start with the display: Add Wtr points to low water or a poorly seated reservoir, CLOG points to grounds or scale, and STOP means the brew was cancelled. A numbered Er message calls for Ninja support. If the machine loses all power and the display gives no explanation, the manual does not identify a user repair for that fault.
Check the message before troubleshooting
Note the exact message and whether the brewer paused, cancelled the brew, or went completely dark. The distinctions matter: adding water or clearing a clog may address a displayed warning, but those steps do not diagnose a total loss of power.

- Add Wtr: Follow the water and reservoir steps below.
- CLOG: Check for grounds in the needles, then clean or descale as directed.
- STOP: The brew was cancelled; check the drip stop if your model has one.
- Er plus a number: Contact Ninja Customer Service.
- No display and no power: Record the model and what happened, then contact manufacturer support. The manual does not establish a reset or cleaning fix for unexplained power loss.

If the display says Add Wtr
- Add fresh water to the reservoir.
- Press the same brew-style button you were using to resume brewing.
- If there is already water in the reservoir, remove it and press it firmly back into place.
- If Add Wtr remains after reseating, contact Ninja support.
If the display says CLOG
Check and clear visible grounds
- If you were brewing with a pod, check that it was punctured.
- Inspect the upper and lower needles for visible grounds.
- Clear visible grounds with a flat wire or plastic clip. Avoid using a sharp tool.
- Turn the brewer off and back on, then run a full-carafe Classic brew with water only.
Descale if CLOG persists or no grounds are visible
Ninja’s guide directs owners to the clean/descale procedure when the clog warning remains or no grounds are visible. A water-only clean cycle does not properly descale the brewer.

- Place an empty carafe beneath the brew basket.
- Pour 16 oz of white vinegar into the reservoir, then add water to the Full line without going above it. Alternatively, use a descaling product formulated for coffee makers and follow its package directions.
- Press CLEAN, then press CLEAN again to confirm and start the cycle. It takes approximately 75 minutes.
- Do not remove the carafe during the cycle.
- When the cycle finishes, empty the carafe. Wash the reservoir with warm, soapy water, refill it with fresh water, and run a full-carafe Classic brew with water only.
- Discard the rinse water, then clean the carafe and brew basket.
If the brew pauses or STOP appears
STOP means the brew was cancelled. On the CFP300, a closed drip stop pauses brewing, gives an audible reminder after 30 seconds, and cancels the brew after five minutes. Check that the lever is open if your model has this control. Those timings are specific to the CFP300; check the guide for your exact model before applying them to another DualBrew.
If you see Er and a number—or the machine goes dark
For a numbered Er message, Ninja’s guide says to contact Customer Service at 1-877-646-5288. The manual also directs owners to support if Add Wtr persists after the reservoir is reseated.

If the display and power disappear unexpectedly, the available manufacturer guidance does not identify a cleaning or needle-clearing repair. Note the exact model number, whether the display showed an error before shutting off, and what the brewer was doing; contact Ninja support rather than treating it as a clog or scale problem.

If inspection reveals a damaged or missing component, verify compatibility by model number before ordering. Ninja’s CFP101 product page lists model-specific parts and accessories, including a reservoir, brew basket, pod adapter, filter, carafe, and de-clog tool.
