Check the connection and try the update again
For a phone-based update, Samsung requires a network connection and a Bluetooth connection between the watch and phone. Confirm that the devices are connected, then open Galaxy Wearable and follow the software update prompts. Menu names can vary by watch model and software version. - Open Galaxy Wearable on the connected phone.
- Open the watch’s software update section and select the available update option.
- Follow the on-screen prompts. Keep Bluetooth connected and ensure the phone has network access while the update is being downloaded and started.

If your model offers the option, open Settings > Software update > Download and install on the watch. Follow the displayed prompts. The exact labels and availability differ across models and software versions.

Restart the watch, then check for the update again
Samsung recommends restarting or rebooting a watch when software or app problems occur. On supported models, holding the Home/Power and Back keys until Rebooting… appears starts a reboot; button behavior and wording may vary. If the watch enters a boot loop
A failed update can leave a watch repeatedly restarting. Samsung identifies removing apps or performing a factory reset as possible recovery measures. Treat a reset as a later step, not the first response: it removes watch data. Back up the watch where possible before resetting, then set it up and reconnect it to the phone afterward.
