The available official guidance does not identify one JioFiber-specific cause for YouTube disconnections.
The steps below primarily address watching YouTube, including live streams. If you mean that your own broadcast is disconnecting while you are hosting it, see the note near the end: the viewing guidance here cannot diagnose an encoder or upload failure.

First identify what is disconnecting
Before changing router settings or buying equipment, establish whether the fault is limited to one video, one device, or YouTube—or whether your connection is failing more broadly.
- Check whether ordinary YouTube videos also stop, or only one live stream.
- See whether other apps and websites work at the same time.
- Note which device and YouTube app or browser you are using, when the problem happens, any error message, and whether playback resumes by itself.
- If you are broadcasting rather than watching, note the encoder or device and its exact error. The steps below focus on playback.
Compare devices and internet connections
YouTube recommends changing the internet connection and replaying the video. Jio also advises that if other websites work but one particular site does not, the issue may be specific to that site. Use these comparisons to narrow down where to look, not as proof of the root cause. YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance and Jio’s user guide cover these checks.

A hotspot test can use mobile data and may incur charges. Record what changes between tests, including whether the stream resumes automatically.
Check Wi-Fi where you watch
A speed result beside the router may not reflect the connection at a TV across the home. Test at the screen’s location. YouTube recommends testing near the TV and minimizing use by other devices; Jio’s guide recommends a wired connection for streaming video where practical. YouTube Help recommends at least 7 Mbps for HD streaming. That is a recommendation for HD playback, not a guarantee that a live stream will stay uninterrupted; YouTube notes that network congestion and other factors can affect live programming.
- Check the connection beside the TV or viewing device, not just near the router.
- If possible, move the device or router to improve the path between them. Reduce nearby interference and pause heavy network use on other devices during a test.
- If your Wi-Fi exposes both bands, try 5 GHz when the device is close to the router and 2.4 GHz when you need greater coverage. Jio’s guide describes 5 GHz as offering better speed and 2.4 GHz as offering better coverage.
- Lower YouTube’s playback quality temporarily. If interruptions stop, the result suggests the connection may be struggling at the higher quality, but does not identify why.
- If the device has an Ethernet port, compare wired playback with Wi-Fi. A Cat 6 Ethernet cable is one option for making this test; confirm that the cable and device ports are compatible.
If the problem occurs only where Wi-Fi coverage is weak, improving coverage may help; Jio lists an extender as a coverage option. First establish that coverage is the issue rather than treating an extender as a fix for every disconnection. Jio’s JioHome tips include guidance for fiber users.

Refresh YouTube and the viewing device
- Quit YouTube completely, reopen it, and retry the same video.
- Restart the TV, streaming device, phone, or computer you are watching on.
- Check for available software updates for the device and install them according to its normal update process.
- On supported mobile-app platforms, follow YouTube’s cache-clearing guidance.
- For a Jio set-top box app issue, open the app settings and clear the affected app’s cache. Clearing its data may sign you out and require you to sign in again.
Run JioFiber diagnostics and check the gateway
Use MyJio’s Run Diagnostics flow to check the JioFiber connection, router, Wi-Fi coverage, and device health. Follow the repair or service-request steps shown for your results. Jio’s instructions are in Run Diagnostics on JioFiber Network To Check Status and Fix Issues.
- Confirm the gateway is powered on and its cables are secure.
- In MyJio, run diagnostics for your JioFiber connection and review each issue reported.
- If you use an external router or network switch, temporarily bypass it as a controlled test, then restore your usual setup if the result is unchanged.
- If a VPN is active, test once with it disconnected, then reconnect it if that does not change playback.
- Check whether the device has been blocked in your network setup.
These are checks described in Jio’s guidance, not evidence that an external router, VPN, or blocked device caused your particular problem. Avoid changing unrelated network settings without a diagnostic reason.

The steps above address watching and playback, not encoder configuration or a failed upload connection. Record your encoder or device, the exact error text, when the disconnect occurs, and whether other internet activity also fails. The available official viewing and JioFiber guidance does not establish a specific JioFiber cause or support encoder-specific settings for a broadcast disconnect.

When to contact Jio or YouTube
Contact JioCare or raise a service request through MyJio if the issue continues across devices or services, or diagnostics reports a connection or service fault. Share useful observations rather than only saying that YouTube disconnects:
- Which devices and services are affected, and the approximate times of the failures.
- The exact error message and whether playback resumes automatically.
- Your MyJio diagnostic result and any displayed repair action.
- Whether a hotspot, another device, a wired connection, or testing near the router changed the result.
For a playback problem, YouTube also allows feedback through Help and Feedback after trouble occurs. Its guidance says, “Network congestion and other factors may also cause live programming issues, which can delay the stream.”
