Catalogs change, so a result is a useful lead—not a guarantee.
How to check where a title is available
- Search the exact title. Add the release year for a movie or the season for a series if there are remakes, alternate titles, or multiple adaptations.
- Set the country where you will watch. Streaming rights vary by region, so a listing for another country may not apply to you. JustWatch says availability can vary by region and change over time (JustWatch’s Terms of Use).
- Read the offer type, not just the provider name. A service may appear because it offers a title to stream with a subscription, for free or with ads, or to rent or buy. JustWatch distinguishes these categories and provides a buy/rent filter in its app (What is JustWatch?; Understanding Provider Filters in the JustWatch App).
- Verify at the provider before spending. Open the title page in the provider’s app or website. Check that it is still available in your region and whether access is included in your plan or requires a separate rental or purchase. Catalogs and offers can change.
- Track titles you cannot watch yet. Add them to a watchlist and enable availability notifications if the guide offers them. JustWatch says it can notify users tracking a title when its availability changes (JustWatch’s Terms of Use).
What “available to watch” can mean
A search result does not necessarily mean a title is included in a subscription. Check the access and cost attached to the listing:

- Subscription: You can watch through a qualifying plan, subject to that service’s terms and the title’s current availability.
- Free or ad-supported: The title may be available without a paid subscription, sometimes with advertising.
- Rent: You pay for temporary access under the store’s rental terms.
- Buy: You pay for the title to be added to a digital library, subject to the store’s terms and availability.
JustWatch describes itself as a free guide to legal offers across subscription, free, ad-supported, rental, and purchase options. That describes its service; it does not establish that every legal option is listed in every market.

What to do when a listing is stale or a title is missing
The guide says it is available, but the provider does not
Confirm that the guide is set to the right country and that you have opened the correct title or season. Then rely on the provider’s own current listing for whether you can watch and what it costs. If the provider does not show the title, try the guide again later or track it for an availability-change alert.

The title is not included with your subscriptions
Check the guide’s free/ad-supported and rent/buy offers before concluding that the title is unavailable. Google says eligible movies and shows rented or purchased through Google TV or YouTube are added to the user’s library; the available storefront features vary by region, and Movies Anywhere is limited to eligible US titles (Where you can watch your content).
You want another place to search
Google TV can help discover content on supported devices and in supported regions, but its tabs and features depend on country, language, and availability. It is not a universal catalog checker (How Google TV & Android TV work; Where you can watch your content).

How current are streaming guides?
JustWatch says its content-partner data receives daily updates (Content Partner documentation). That cadence applies to partner data; it does not guarantee that every consumer-facing result updates immediately, cover every provider, or remain correct when you check. Use a guide to find likely options, then verify the title and offer directly with the service before subscribing, renting, or buying.
