How to Find Out Whether Your City Uses Flock Safety Cameras

Find out whether your city or county uses Flock Safety cameras by checking agency portals, procurement records, and dated official responses—and learn how to verify status and privacy policies.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Start with your local police department or sheriff’s office, then confirm what you find in official city or county records. A transparency portal or map can help, but a contract, current policy, council record, or dated agency response is stronger evidence—and a blank third-party map does not prove there are no cameras.

Search the local law-enforcement agency’s website

Search your city and county names with terms such as “Flock Safety,” “Flock transparency portal,” “ALPR,” “automatic license plate reader,” and “LPR.” Check police and sheriff department pages for a transparency portal, location map, policy, or program description.

Tukwila’s official ALPR page illustrates what to look for: it links to a transparency portal, camera-location map, policy, and council materials. Its page also documents local concerns, a 2026 third-party risk review, and a revised contract adopted May 18, 2026. Those details apply to Tukwila, not automatically to other cities.

Check council and procurement records

If the agency website is unclear, search city or county agendas, minutes, staff reports, budgets, purchase orders, contracts, amendments, and renewal or termination votes. Search for both “Flock” and broader terms such as “ALPR” or “license plate reader”; records may describe the technology without naming the vendor in a page heading.

  • 【Wide-Area Wireless Scan】Think your meeting is private? In larger meeting rooms or hotel spaces, scanning for hidden devices often takes time as you walk around until a signal becomes clear. As your camera detector spy camera finder, its extendable antenna helps steady RF pickup, giving a better sense of direction in wide areas. With adjustable sensitivity, you can avoid missing WiFi cameras. And for non-WiFi pin-hole cameras, the infrared scan reveals disguised tools like a prepared privacy pen.
  • 【Infrared Scan】Ever wonder what’s watching you in a new hotel room? Tiny pin-hole cameras can hide in smoke detectors, clothing hooks, chargers, or fixtures you’d never notice. In a completely dark room, the infrared scan in this camera finder hidden camera detector makes hidden lenses reflect as a bright spot—revealing what the eye can’t see. Sweep mirrors, vents, picture frames, chargers, and wall fixtures; it also works as a hidden bug and camera detector to give you peace of mind before you settle in.
  • 【Anti-Theft Alarm Mode】Don’t Let Danger Catch You Off Guard. While you’re asleep in a hotel room, hang this anti spy detector on the door handle—any attempt to open the door triggers an instant alert, waking you before someone gets close. Paired with your hidden camera finder, it keeps you aware and protected wherever you go.
  • 【Anti-GPS Tracking Scan】Is your car truly safe? GPS trackers can cling to your car with magnets and quietly send out your location. Ask the agency when records are hard to find

Contact the police department’s records unit or the municipal clerk. If a county sheriff or another agency may run the system, contact that agency’s records officer as well. Use the public-records request process and law that apply in your jurisdiction; release rules and exemptions vary.

You can ask for:

  • Current and prior agreements with Flock Safety or Flock Group, including amendments.
  • The current ALPR policy and any superseded policy.
  • Current camera count and locations, to the extent those records are disclosable.
  • Contract start, end, renewal, suspension, or termination status.
  • Data-retention periods, access and sharing settings, and audit or transparency reports.

A partial response or denial does not, on its own, establish that cameras are absent. It may reflect the jurisdiction’s disclosure rules or the scope of the request.

Use third-party directories as leads, not proof

Third-party resources can point you toward local records, but their listings should not settle the question:

  • 【9-in-1 Complete Privacy Guard】Combines 9 practical detection & alert functions, covering hidden camera scanning, RF signal detection, magnetic GPS tracker locating, audio bug tracing, infrared lens recognition, laser detection night vision camera, electromagnetic interference filtering, SOS emergency alarm and abnormal motion detection. camera detector works perfectly in hotels, offices, vehicles, fitting rooms and meeting rooms to block all potential privacy threats comprehensively.
  • 【6 Levels of Sensitivity & Precise Target Locating Scan Mode】Hidden camera detector features six levels of adjustable detection sensitivity, Adopts segmented signal attenuation positioning technology, Built-in high-brightness concentrated IR light array amplifies tiny lens reflections, even ultra-mini pinhole cameras concealed in wall holes can be visually pinpointed without extra auxiliary tools. Perfect for deep inspection of Airbnb rooms, fitting rooms and business vehicle interiors.
  • 【3-in-1 AI Sentinel Alarm System& Green Night Vision Laser】Once the radio frequency detector abnormal motion, and the spy detector will emit vibration, buzzer sound and strobe triple alarms. A self-developed cat-e ye night vision detection algorithm keenly captures infrared nanometer wave signals from hidden cameras; laser full-area scanning combined with a green light guide precisely locks onto night vision lenses, leaving no place for various hidden pinhole night vision cameras to hide.
  • 【Fast Charging & Ultra-Long Standby】Privacy pen upgraded large-capacity 2000 mAh low-power consumption lithium battery, within 1 hour via Full charge quickly (compatible with phone power bank, laptop charger). Achieves continuous 8-hour non-stop scanning or can achieve 50 days of long standby time when not in use. No need to carry extra dedicated chargers during cross-city business trips, overseas travel or long road trips; solves the trouble of frequent power loss of traditional detectors.
  • Flock Transparency provides a jurisdiction search and distinguishes a verified portal link from a case where it found no verified report. “No verified report” means the directory did not locate one; it does not mean the jurisdiction has no cameras.
  • Flock Clocker says its map points back to procurement and government documents and notes that records may not yet exist for every area it covers.
  • Flock Truth recommends checking local agendas and budgets and describes agency-specific portal addresses.
  • Tom’s Guide notes that community-submitted map coverage depends on how active local volunteers are.

Treat map markers as clues to investigate. A blank map is not proof of no deployment, and a camera sighting alone does not establish that the device is made by Flock.

Confirm what “uses Flock cameras” means

A purchase, proposal, or council authorization is not necessarily proof that every device is installed or currently operating. Look for the latest dated agency statement or record, and establish whether the system is proposed, installed, active, suspended, expired, or removed.

Also identify the operator and the equipment’s scope. A county sheriff or another nearby agency may operate cameras in or near city limits. And “camera” can refer to different equipment: verify that the record concerns fixed ALPRs rather than another camera system or a different Flock offering.

  • Authority: Is this an official agency, council, or procurement record, or a third-party compilation?
  • Recency and status: Does the record describe a proposal, a current operation, or a contract that has expired or ended?
  • Geography and operator: Does it cover the city, county, or another agency, and who administers the system?
  • Scope: Does it document only a camera count, or also locations, policy, retention, sharing, and audits?

Local reporting can identify a development, but use current municipal or agency records to settle status where available. For example, Axios reported on September 28, 2026 that Cincinnati did not use Flock cameras at that time while its council pursued a wider surveillance inventory. That dated Cincinnati report should not be generalized to another city or treated as a permanent status.

Read the privacy and oversight terms

Finding a deployment is only part of the picture. Read the local policy and current agreement for retention periods, who may query or access records, interagency sharing, audit logging, complaint channels, and oversight. These are local and contractual terms; another city’s settings do not establish yours.

Tukwila’s page, for example, links to local policy and contract materials alongside its map and portal. Start with the records for the agency operating the cameras, and note the date of the newest reliable information because deployments and directory listings can change.
