Start with the official police and sheriff’s department websites for your city and county, then search for “ALPR,” “automatic license plate reader,” “automated license plate reader,” and vendor names such as Flock. An agency map or current camera inventory is the clearest public confirmation of specific locations. A program page, camera count, or transparency portal may confirm that an agency uses the system without showing where a camera is operating.
Search official local sources first
Search the name of your city or county alongside several terms: “ALPR,” “automatic license plate reader,” “automated license plate reader,” “camera locations,” “transparency portal,” and any vendor name you have seen mentioned. Agencies use both “automatic” and “automated,” so trying both can surface different pages.

Check the official websites of the city police department, county police department, sheriff’s office, and relevant state law-enforcement agencies. Look for an ALPR program page, policy, fixed-camera map or inventory, vendor transparency portal, and public-records contact. One department’s page may not cover systems used by neighboring jurisdictions, state agencies, regional partners, mobile patrols, or private entities.
Read what a map or portal actually covers
A public map or fixed-camera list that names locations and identifies the responsible agency is the strongest public evidence that a specific site is part of a local system. Other portals may show only camera counts, policies, organizations with access, searches, or aggregated usage information. A portal’s existence therefore does not necessarily tell you where cameras are installed.

- Compatibility-- Only Work With ONWOTE TD Series NVR (PNT-808, PNA-8016-T, PNT-1232).
- LPR-- License Plate Recognition IP Network PoE Camera.
- 4MP Resolution-- 2592×1520 @30fps for sharp and fluid video.
- 1/1.8" Low-Light Image Sensor-- Ensuring clear images even in dim conditions.
- 8-32mm Motorized Varifocal Lens @F1.6 for adjustable field of view.
Check the source’s stated scope: does it cover fixed roadside cameras only, or also mobile readers mounted on vehicles and partner systems? Also note the inventory date and portal update schedule. Henrico County Police Division and Arvada Police Department say their portals update daily, but an update schedule alone does not establish that every underlying record is complete or that a location remains active. If the inventory date or coverage is unclear, ask the agency.
Check other agencies and device types
Repeat the search for nearby jurisdictions and agencies with authority in your area. A city page about one vendor’s network is not a complete account of every operator nearby. Look for regional data-sharing partners and state-level resources as well as county and city systems.

- 2-MP 1/2.8" CMOS image sensor, low luminance, and high definitionimage. Outputs max. 2MP (1920×1080) @25/30 fps.
- 5 mm–60 mm motorized lens, Built-in IR LED, and the max. illumination distance is 150 m (492.13 ft) (IR) . For 50ft-170ft , use as LPR or long distance monitoring.
Check whether the agency describes both fixed and mobile readers. Henrico County Police Division’s August 17, 2026 policy discusses fixed and mobile systems and identifies private entities that can include homeowners’ associations, gated communities, shopping malls, businesses, and places of worship. That policy language does not establish that any particular private entity has an ALPR system; it identifies types of entities that may be relevant to ask about.

Some states maintain registration resources. Washington’s Attorney General, for example, lists agency ALPR registration submissions and policies, but says the office has not independently verified the agency certifications. Treat an entry as an agency submission, not independent confirmation that a camera is currently operating at a particular location.

Thanks to the Motion Track feature that displays the complete movement of the target over time in one picture, you can save the hassle of viewing the entire video to find suspicious moments.
- SMART DETECTION & TWO-WAY TALK: Smartly detect person/car/animal movements from other objects, reducing false alarms. Upon motion detection, you’ll receive Push/email instantly and can talk with people by the cam side via 2-way talk directly through Reolink App/Client.
- PoE TECH & IP67 WEATHERPROOF: Only one cable handles both data transmission and stable power supply. (Note: The PoE NVR/switch/injector and DC power adapter are not included.) An easy setup for all-level users. Reolink Duo 3 PoE endures all weather conditions and facilitates ceiling or wall mounting. Ideal for versatile settings.
- SMART USER EXPERIENCE & TIME LAPSE: Enhance your surveillance efficiency with multiple smart features: remote live viewing, custom motion zones, and smart playback (up to 16x speed). Plus, time-lapse condenses long-term events into minutes, facilitating easy observation of transformations.
Make sure you have identified an ALPR
ALPRs capture vehicle and license-plate images or data for law-enforcement investigations. They are not the same as automated red-light or speed-enforcement cameras, which are designed for civil traffic enforcement. Alexandria Police Department lists these categories separately. A roadside device’s appearance alone is not enough to identify its purpose; check the responsible agency’s description or policy.
Request existing records if public information is incomplete
If maps or portal details are missing, contact the department’s public-information officer or records custodian, or use the applicable state or local public-records process. Ask for existing records, such as:

- The current fixed-camera location list or map and the date it was last updated.
- The system inventory and policy, including whether mobile readers or partner systems are included.
- Contracts or procurement records identifying the system and operator.
- Existing deployment, access, or audit reports that describe the program’s scope.
Public-records rules and exemptions vary by jurisdiction. Monterey Park Police Department explains that its public-records law does not require the city to create a new record or provide an explanatory answer; disclosure is limited to records that are disclosable under the applicable law. A request for a particular existing map or inventory is more precise than asking the agency to create a new one or answer a general question.
Weigh the evidence before drawing a conclusion
- Specific location: A current agency map or inventory with a clear date and scope is the strongest public confirmation of a site.
- Agency program: An official ALPR page, policy, budget or procurement record, or transparency portal can establish that an agency has a program, but may not confirm a particular camera is currently operating at a specific spot.
- State registry: Useful as a cross-check where available, but check whether the state verifies submissions. Washington’s Attorney General says it does not independently verify agency certifications.
- Crowdsourced maps or sightings: Treat these as leads to check. They do not by themselves establish agency ownership, current operation, or device type.
- No search result: This is not proof that no cameras are present. An agency may publish little information, use different terminology, or operate mobile or partner systems that a fixed-camera map does not show.
For example, Henrico County Police Division’s policy says fixed-camera locations are selected based on points of ingress and egress, natural traffic choke points, or locations supported by offense, call, or traffic data. That describes the agency’s stated site-selection approach; it does not identify a camera at any particular address.
