Yes—you can try to find lost Samsung Galaxy Buds using Samsung Find or SmartThings Find. Depending on your phone and software, Galaxy Wearable can take you to the right service. You may see a map location, search nearby, or make connected earbuds ring, but those actions have different requirements and are not guaranteed to work for every model or situation.
How do I find my lost Galaxy Buds?
- Open a finding service. Use Samsung Find or SmartThings. You can also open Galaxy Wearable and choose Find My Earbuds; it may redirect you to Samsung Find or SmartThings Find.
- Select your Buds. In Samsung Find, choose Devices and select the earbuds. In SmartThings, choose Life > Find, then select the Buds.
- Choose the action that fits. Check the map and tap Refresh to reload the location. If the earbuds may be nearby, try Search nearby in SmartThings Find. If they are connected over Bluetooth, use Ring to make them play a sound.
Samsung also documents access through its Find website: sign in with your Samsung account, select Devices and the Buds, then use Ring or Refresh. Its US instructions describe a Notify me when it’s found email option on the website. In SmartThings Find, other available options may include Navigate, Notify when left behind, sharing the device location, or Lost mode. Which controls appear can depend on the service and device.

- OPTIMIZED COMFORT: Enjoy that just-right fit, with an improved, ear-hugging design and changeable ear tips.
- Android 15 or earlier: Open Galaxy Wearable > Find My Earbuds and start the sound search.
- Android 16 or later: Open Settings, select the Galaxy Buds device, then choose Find My Earbuds.
Galaxy Wearable may open Samsung Find or SmartThings Find. Samsung says that if the phone supports both services, Samsung Find opens. Menu names and paths can differ by device, software build, or region, so use the route available on your phone rather than assuming every interface matches these labels. Samsung describes Samsung Find and SmartThings Find as available on supported Galaxy phones and tablets running Android 10 or later and signed in to a Samsung account. What does “track” mean here?
Samsung’s instructions describe a map location, refreshing that location, searching nearby, and ringing earbuds. These are not interchangeable: a map or refreshed location does not mean you can watch the Buds move continuously, while Search nearby and Ring are ways to locate them when conditions allow. Samsung’s reviewed guidance does not establish GPS tracking, a guaranteed exact location, or a universal live-location feature.

- Map and Refresh: Check the location shown by the finding service and request an update.
- Search nearby: Use the nearby search in SmartThings Find when you think the earbuds are close enough to be detected.
- Ring: Make the earbuds emit a sound to help locate them by ear; this requires a live Bluetooth connection between the phone and earbuds.
Can I track Galaxy Buds in the case?
It depends on the model and the action. Samsung specifically says Galaxy Buds FE and Galaxy Buds2, among earlier models, do not support Nearby search while the earbuds are inside their charging case. That caveat should not be generalized to every Galaxy Buds model. Samsung Gulf’s supported-device list for SmartThings Find names Galaxy Buds4 Pro, Buds4, Buds3 Pro, Buds3, Buds2 Pro, Buds2, Buds Pro, Buds Live, and Buds+. The page separately mentions Buds FE in its in-case search caveat; the model list and that specific limitation are distinct details. Regional support may differ. No. Samsung says the charging case cannot be located separately if only the case is lost. Its guidance also says the earbuds cannot be located when both the earbuds and charging case batteries are completely depleted. If the earbuds are outside the case, charged, and connected over Bluetooth, try Ring; if they are not nearby, a search may not detect them. Why might Samsung Find not locate my Buds?
- They are disconnected: Ring works only while the earbuds and phone are connected through Bluetooth. It is not a remote sound command for disconnected earbuds.
- The batteries are depleted: If both the earbuds and case are completely out of charge, Samsung says the earbuds cannot be located.
- They are too far away: Samsung notes that earbuds that are not nearby may not be detected during a search.
- They are enclosed in the case: Nearby search is not supported in the case for the specific models Samsung identifies, including Buds FE and Buds2.
- Your phone or service is unsupported: Samsung says service availability can vary with the connected phone’s software version; supported Galaxy devices and a Samsung account are required for the services described.
Samsung’s guidance does not give a guaranteed locating range or success rate, so a map result or search should be treated as a lead rather than proof that the Buds can be recovered.
