To find a legitimate game discount, start with the game’s official-store listing, compare only equivalent editions and platforms, verify the seller and redemption region, and read the refund rules before paying. A low price is not a good deal if the game is for the wrong launcher, the code cannot be redeemed in your region, or you lose the right to cancel once downloading begins.
Start with official wishlists and sale pages
Add games you genuinely plan to buy to the platform’s wishlist and enable sale notifications when available. Steam says its Wishlist feature can notify you when a wishlisted game goes on sale; see Steam’s sales and purchasing FAQ. Nintendo Support says digital software discounts and sales are often available through Nintendo eShop and Nintendo Store; its US guidance is at Does Nintendo Offer Purchase Discounts or Coupons?.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Use the current listing and an alert rather than assuming a particular title will be discounted during an annual event or reach a specific future price. Sale timing and prices change, and an alert is a prompt to check an offer—not proof that a third-party seller is trustworthy.
Compare the same game, not just the discount percentage
Before comparing prices, make sure each offer is for something you can actually use. A discounted code for another platform or region is not equivalent to the game in your account’s store. Compare the final cost and the purchase terms, not only the crossed-out price or discount percentage.

| What to check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Platform or launcher | Confirm whether the offer is for Steam, another PC launcher, Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo. A product for one platform does not automatically work on another. |
| Region and redemption | Check the code’s region restrictions and whether it can be redeemed by an account set to your country or region. |
| Edition and included content | Compare the same edition, including any DLC, expansions, or bundled items. A cheaper base game is not comparable to an edition that includes extra content. |
| Effective price | Include taxes and any subscription required to access the offer or content. Compare the amount you will actually pay. |
| Seller and support | Identify who takes payment, who supplies the game or code, and where to go for help or a return. |
| Refund eligibility | Check the relevant store or seller policy and whether downloading, streaming, or playing affects eligibility. |
Use price comparison services as a starting point
A price-comparison service can help surface PC game listings from multiple sellers. IsThereAnyDeal publishes an official FAQ; check the service’s current listing details directly rather than assuming a result covers every retailer, console, or region.
For each result, establish whether it is a direct purchase from a store or a third-party key, which account or launcher it uses, and where it can be redeemed. A tracker organizes prices; it does not by itself establish that a particular seller or offer is suitable for you.

Check the seller before you pay
Prefer the platform’s own storefront or a retailer whose identity, authorization, customer support, and return path you can verify. PlayStation’s US buying guide recommends buying new PlayStation products from authorized retailers for authenticity, functionality, return-policy, and warranty considerations. That general guidance is not a complete directory of authorized digital game-code sellers; consult PlayStation’s buying guide for its stated scope.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Read the listing for the exact product name, platform, region, and edition.
- Check who sells and fulfills the item, and whether support is handled by the storefront or a separate seller.
- Read the seller’s own refund and return terms before checkout, especially for codes that may be non-returnable after delivery or redemption.
- Do not treat a large discount or a price-tracker listing as evidence of authorization or guaranteed support.
Read the refund policy before buying
Refund rights depend on the storefront, product, region, and what you have done with the purchase. The following rules are specific to the cited policies and are not interchangeable.

Steam
Valve’s general Steam refund rule is that a request should be made within 14 days of purchase and with less than two hours of playtime. Steam says requests outside those conditions may still be reviewed. Read the current Common Refund Questions before relying on eligibility.
Steam’s sales FAQ says it cannot apply a discount to a purchase made before or after a sale period, and coupons or loyalty discounts generally do not stack unless stated otherwise. It also says that, for an eligible purchase whose price drops, you may request a refund and repurchase at the sale price. Check the applicable refund conditions before using that option in Steam’s sales FAQ.

PlayStation Store in the United States
Under PlayStation’s US cancellation policy, a game or add-on can generally be canceled within 14 days of purchase only if downloading or streaming has not started. Downloaded or streamed games and add-ons are generally ineligible unless faulty. The policy notes that local law may provide additional rights. See the PlayStation Store cancellation policy for the current terms and instructions for checking transaction history and requesting an eligible refund.

Nintendo
Nintendo’s cited support page says discounts and sales are often available for digital software through Nintendo eShop and Nintendo Store. It also says there are currently no discount codes available for purchases on Nintendo Store in the context of that US support page. That statement does not establish what third-party retailers offer, or what is available in other regions or at a later date. Check the relevant local store listing and purchase terms.
