To expand your inventory in The Sinking City 2, find Inventory Upgrade pickups: some are inside E.R.C. crates, while others sit on tables in dungeons. Opening a crate requires an E.R.C. activator pen, so look for the pen in the level before trying the crate. The locations below are walkthrough-reported finds, not a complete developer-confirmed list.
How inventory upgrades work
Inventory capacity increases when you collect an Inventory Upgrade. The developer FAQ says these pickups can be found in E.R.C. crates or lying on tables in some dungeons. - Loose pickup: Search dungeon tables; these upgrades do not require opening an E.R.C. crate.
Some crates may be encountered before you have found their pens. If a crate is inaccessible, continue searching the surrounding level for the activator pen rather than assuming the crate is unusable.

Reported inventory upgrade locations
The following locations come from a third-party crate checklist, not official developer location documentation. They provide useful leads, but do not establish every upgrade’s exact room coordinates or guarantee that this is an exhaustive route.
Church graveyard crypt
The checklist identifies the star-marked crypt in the church graveyard as an E.R.C. crate containing an Inventory Upgrade worth +2 slots. Bring an activator pen; the checklist advises collecting the nearby pen before opening the crate. This is listed as an early Chapter 2 find. E.R.C. crate and activator pen checklist
Printing House
Another reported upgrade is on the flooded lower route through the Printing House. Check the lower area as you follow that route; the checklist does not give a more precise room-by-room coordinate.
Akeley Hospital
The checklist lists an Inventory Upgrade in the morgue at Akeley Hospital. This is a later find than the church graveyard location.

Look in a side room of the Jewelry Workshop for another listed Inventory Upgrade.
How many upgrades are there?
An interactive third-party map lists 13 known Inventory Expansion locations across 10 maps and shows an update date of September 6, 2026. That is the map’s count of locations it has catalogued, not a maximum confirmed by Frogwares. Frogwares’ Update 1.1.0 notes say that inventory slot upgrades carry over into Ex Oblivione. Under the same update, finding an inventory upgrade you already own grants Dream Essence instead.
