Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFind a YouTube Live collaborator by starting with audience and format fit—not subscriber count—then reviewing recent streams, checking practical compatibility, and sending a specific proposal. YouTube’s Creator Partnerships tools may help advertisers discover creators, but they are not a universal directory of active live streamers or a guarantee of live-specific audience-overlap data.
1. Write a collaboration brief before searching
A short brief helps you identify the right YouTube Live co-host and gives potential partners enough information to decide whether the project suits them. Set out:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Audience: who you want to reach, including relevant language and geography.
- Subject: the topic or shared interest that makes the collaboration relevant to both communities.
- Format: for example, an interview, joint discussion, tutorial, Q&A or community event.
- Outcome: what you want viewers to get from the stream, and any project goal beyond simply going live.
- Date and timing: a target date or range, plus the intended time zone.
- Commercial terms: whether participation is paid, gifted or unpaid, and what each person is expected to provide.
Keep the brief concise. You can fill in technical and promotional details with a candidate once both sides are interested.

2. Find creators where your audience already gathers
Search your niche and adjacent topics
Look for creators covering the same subject as well as neighboring topics that would make a useful conversation for both audiences. Search YouTube for relevant channels, topics and recent live-stream recordings. Explore the channels that appear in related discussions and note which creators already host formats that could accommodate a guest or co-host.

Review streams, not just channel totals
Watch recent live streams or their recordings. Check the host’s pace, discussion style, audience interaction and how the format handles guests or questions. Subscriber totals can be a useful signal, but they do not show who will attend a particular live event or whether two channels’ viewers are a good match.
YouTube has reported that creators who shared channel insights were, on average, 60% more likely to be surfaced in search in the US from October through December 2025. That finding is not specific to live-stream search and should not be treated as a way to identify suitable co-hosts. (YouTube Data, as reported in YouTube’s March 23, 2026 announcement.)
3. Use YouTube’s creator-discovery tools when they fit
Google describes Creator Partnerships as a Google Ads hub where advertisers can search for YouTube creators, discover and link sponsored creator videos, and access organic and paid metrics. YouTube’s March 2026 announcement says its discovery signals include audience similarity, organic brand mentions and subscriber growth. YouTube said the hub gives brands access to more than 3 million creators in the YouTube Partner Program; that is YouTube’s figure for its program, not an independently verified count of active live-stream collaborators.
These tools are aimed at creator partnerships and advertising. Do not assume every creator or advertiser can access them, that the features are available in every region or account, or that they identify live co-hosts and provide live-specific audience-overlap metrics. Confirm what is currently available in your Google Ads account. See Google’s Creator Partnerships Hub overview and YouTube’s product announcement.

Google’s open-call workflow offers a campaign brief, creator submissions, review and approval, then promotion and measurement. Google said on June 17, 2025 that open call was available only to select advertisers at that time. Check the current account interface rather than assuming the feature is available to you. Google’s announcement explains that workflow.
4. Check whether a candidate is a real fit
Use a consistent shortlist rather than choosing by one visible number. Compare potential partners on:
- Topic fit: Is there a clear shared subject or complementary expertise for the proposed stream?
- Audience fit: Do language, geography and likely viewer interests make sense for both channels? Public channel totals alone cannot establish live attendance or audience overlap.
- Live-format compatibility: Does the creator’s pace, interaction style and approach to questions suit the concept?
- Recent activity and reliability: Are they currently publishing or streaming, and can they commit to the proposed schedule?
- Community tone: Would both hosts be comfortable with the way viewers interact and the norms each channel maintains?
- Promotion and roles: Are expectations for hosting, moderation, promotion and follow-up clear and balanced?
- Commercial and disclosure needs: Is compensation agreed, and will the arrangement require a branded-content declaration?
If audience geography, schedule or another current metric is important to your decision, ask the creator directly for up-to-date information. Do not infer it from subscriber count or a public channel page.

5. Send a specific, personalized proposal
A useful outreach message shows why you chose that creator and makes it easy to respond. Include the stream concept, a few possible dates, expected roles, promotion plans and the commercial arrangement. Avoid a generic request to “collab” without explaining what the collaboration would involve.
- Address the creator by name and refer to a specific stream, topic or perspective that prompted your approach.
- Explain the shared audience or subject fit in one or two sentences.
- Propose a concrete live concept and what viewers would gain from it.
- Offer date options with a time zone, and state the likely duration if known.
- Clarify who would host, moderate, promote and handle follow-up.
- State plainly whether participation is paid, gifted or unpaid, and invite questions about terms.
Google’s open-call process is a useful example of why a clear campaign brief and review step matter, though access was limited to select advertisers when Google described it in June 2025.
6. Agree on stream logistics before announcing it
Once both creators are interested, settle the practical details in writing before either channel promotes the event. There is no single mandatory YouTube Live co-hosting format established by the cited platform sources, so agree on what works for your setup and both channels.

- Assign moderation responsibilities, including who handles questions and what to do if chat becomes disruptive.
- Agree on technical checks, connection expectations and a plan if audio, video or access fails.
- Coordinate what each channel will promote, when announcements will go out and where viewers should find the stream.
- Decide whether the stream will remain available as a replay and whether either creator may reuse clips; clarify rights and approval expectations before recording.
7. Disclose sponsorships and other promotional relationships
If a collaboration includes a brand or another promotional relationship, check YouTube’s branded-content requirements and the rules that apply where you and your viewers are located. YouTube says its branded-content policy applies wherever branded content appears, including live streams. Creators must declare branded content in Studio, including when it appears in a live stream. See YouTube’s Branded Content Policies.

Do not use results from a different format as a forecast for a YouTube Live partnership. YouTube for Artists reported a 25% average uplift in first-week views for artists with a subscriber base similar to their collaborators who published a Collaboration video, compared with their own non-collaboration videos from the prior five months. That is a reported internal study about videos, not a live-stream result and not a guarantee for other creators or formats. The cited sources do not establish an independently published success rate for YouTube Live collaborations. (See YouTube for Artists’ resources, February 2026.)
