To download a game on an Amazon Fire tablet, open Games & Apps (or the Apps or Games app), then either select a game in Library or search for a new one in the Store. If you use a child profile, a parent may need to allow Store access or approve the download.

Connect the tablet to Wi-Fi or another internet connection if needed. If it is offline, open Settings and check the Wi-Fi connection.

For a game already associated with your Amazon account, open Library and select the game to download it again.

For a new game, search for its title in the Store, open its listing, and follow the on-screen download or purchase instructions.
Before downloading, check the individual listing for its price, availability in your marketplace, and compatibility with your Fire tablet. A game being an Android app does not guarantee it will work on every Fire device. Amazon describes Fire OS as an Android fork and says Android apps will “most likely” run on Fire devices, but developers must account for device targeting and compatibility. Amazon’s Fire tablet specifications and compatibility guidance can help explain why support varies.
If you are using a child profile
Child profiles have separate content and Store controls. A parent can manage a child’s content in Parent Dashboard or on the Fire tablet. In Parent Dashboard, select the child profile, choose Amazon Kids+ subscription content or Amazon content, and toggle items on or off. Store access is controlled in the child profile’s Store setting. Children may also request permission to download Store titles; after a parent approves a request, the child can download the title and in-app purchases.

With expanded selection enabled, a child may be able to request apps marked “Guidance Suggested.” Amazon lists Netflix, Zoom, and Minecraft as examples. The request and approval process does not mean every app will be available or compatible with every tablet. Amazon Kids and Kids+ are optional
Amazon Kids is a child-profile experience that can share items from an Amazon library, filter content by age, manage screen time and web browsing, and give parents access to activity through Parent Dashboard. Amazon Kids+ is an optional subscription for premium, kid-friendly, ad-free content; it is not required to download an ordinary game. Kids features vary by device, and Amazon Kids is available only in select marketplaces. Details are in Amazon’s overview of Amazon Kids.

For users 13 and older on an adult profile, Amazon documents a separate parental-controls path. These controls can restrict downloading and shopping.

Swipe down twice from the top of the screen to open Quick Settings.

Tap Settings, then Profile and Parental Controls.

Turn on Restrict access to current profile.

Set and record the parental-controls password, then select Finish.
The parental-controls password is different from the lock-screen password. Amazon warns that if you forget it, you may need to factory-reset the tablet to restore full access. Read Amazon’s parental-controls instructions before enabling the restriction.
Review a game before a child downloads it
Some apps may include ads, external links, in-app purchases, or requests for personal information. A game may also require a separate subscription or a particular profile. Review the game’s Store listing and the child profile’s settings so you understand what the app includes and what the child can access.
