On many Samsung Galaxy phones, you can find or change the mobile hotspot password under Settings > Connections > Mobile Hotspot and Tethering > Mobile Hotspot. Tap Configure, or tap the Password field if it appears directly. Menu names vary by model and software version.
Find your Samsung hotspot password

Open Settings on your Galaxy phone.

Tap Connections, then Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.

Tap Mobile Hotspot, then Configure. On some versions, the password field is available on the Mobile Hotspot screen without opening Configure.

Read the password shown in the configuration screen. If a visibility control is available, use it to reveal the characters.

Samsung documents password configuration at this path, but the exact screens and reveal controls differ across models and software. If the labels do not match, search Settings for “Mobile Hotspot.” You may also be able to open hotspot controls from Quick Settings; availability and names vary. Samsung Gulf’s Galaxy hotspot guide and Samsung Canada’s connection instructions describe these configuration options.
Change the hotspot password

Open the hotspot configuration screen using the steps above.

Tap the Password field and enter the new password.

Save or confirm the change if your phone prompts you.

Devices that previously connected may need the updated password. If one keeps rejecting the new credentials, remove or forget the saved hotspot network on that device, select the network again, and enter the current password.
Connect another device to your Galaxy hotspot

On the Galaxy phone, turn on Mobile Hotspot in its settings.

On the device you want to connect, open Wi-Fi settings and select the Galaxy hotspot’s network name.

Enter the current hotspot password and connect.
Some Galaxy versions support sharing the connection with a QR code, which can avoid typing the password. Availability depends on the phone and software. See Samsung Singapore’s hotspot instructions or Google’s Android hotspot and tethering help for connection guidance.
Choose hotspot settings that work for your devices
Keep password protection enabled. Samsung’s configuration guidance says supported phones may offer WPA2 or WPA3 security; choose a mode supported by the devices you need to connect. Available options vary by model and software.
If a device cannot see or join the network, compatibility may also depend on the hotspot band. Samsung lists 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz options on supported configurations. Actual speed and reach depend on the devices and surroundings; 2.4 GHz can be a useful compatibility choice for older devices.

Fix common Samsung hotspot problems
The password is rejected

Reopen hotspot configuration and check the current password.

On the receiving device, remove or forget the saved hotspot network, then select it again and enter the current password.

The hotspot name does not appear
If your phone offers these controls, try changing the band to 2.4 GHz and turn off Hidden network under Advanced settings. Samsung recommends these steps when a hotspot is not visible; not every model has the same controls.
There is no hotspot option, or tethering does not work
Hotspot access can depend on your carrier and plan. Some carriers restrict tethering or charge extra, and Samsung notes that a tethering plan may be required. Check the terms for your account and location with your carrier. Google’s Android help also describes carrier restrictions.
Data or battery use is a concern
A mobile hotspot shares your phone’s mobile data connection and uses battery. Turn it off when you have finished; for longer sessions, Google recommends plugging in the devices during use. Samsung also advises that hotspot use consumes data and battery. See Samsung Singapore’s guide and Google’s Android help.
