How do I find Accessibility Shortcut on iPhone?
- Open Settings > Accessibility > Accessibility Shortcut.
- Select the accessibility features you want to control with the button shortcut. Some options, including Assistive Access or Guided Access, must be set up before they can be added.
- Triple-click the Side button on an iPhone with Face ID, or the Home button on other iPhone models.
With one feature selected, a triple-click turns that feature on or off. If you select multiple features, the iPhone displays them as choices; tap the one you want to switch on or off. Apple’s Accessibility Shortcut guide covers the setup and button behavior.

How do I customize triple-click on iPhone?
Customize the shortcut by changing the features selected in Settings > Accessibility > Accessibility Shortcut. The button gesture itself is the triple-click; the selected feature or list of features determines what happens after you use it.

If the phone does not reliably recognize your clicks, adjust the timing:
- On a Face ID iPhone, open Settings > Accessibility > Side Button. On other models, open Settings > Accessibility > Home Button.
- Under Click Speed, choose Slow or Slowest instead of Default.
These settings change how quickly the phone expects successive button clicks; they do not change which accessibility features the shortcut controls. See Apple’s button click-speed instructions.

How do I set up Back Tap for an accessibility feature?
Back Tap is configured separately from Accessibility Shortcut. To assign an action, go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Back Tap, choose Double Tap or Triple Tap, then select an action. To remove an assignment, choose None for that gesture. Apple’s Back Tap guide explains the setting.
Back Tap can also launch a shortcut you created in the Shortcuts app. In Back Tap settings, choose a gesture, scroll to the Shortcuts area, select the shortcut, and apply the setting. This launches the selected shortcut rather than changing the button-based Accessibility Shortcut configuration. See Apple’s instructions for running a shortcut with Back Tap.

Apple’s current instructions describe these controls, but labels and availability can vary by iPhone model and iOS version. If a setting or control is missing, check for an iOS update and consult the relevant Apple guide for your device.

AssistiveTouch is a separate touch-access feature, not another name for Accessibility Shortcut or Back Tap. Find it under Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch, where you can customize its menu. You can also configure Accessibility Shortcut to quickly turn AssistiveTouch on or off. Apple’s AssistiveTouch guide describes its settings.
