Open Samsung Notes and search for a word or phrase from the note. If it does not appear, check the app’s folders and categories. To open notes on another device, use Samsung Notes there and make sure Samsung Cloud sync is enabled with the same Samsung account.
Find a note in Samsung Notes
- Open Samsung Notes on the phone, tablet, or supported PC where you expect the note.
- Search from the app’s Home screen. Enter a word or phrase that appears in the note. Samsung’s guide, “Use Samsung Notes on your Samsung PC”, says saved notes can be found from the Home screen or the app’s search bar.
- Browse folders and categories if search does not find it. Check whether a particular folder or category is selected, and look through other locations on the Home screen.
On a PC, selecting a note opens it for viewing or editing. Samsung says changes are saved when you return by pressing Back.

Open your notes on another device
Samsung Notes content is accessed through the app, not simply by signing into the same account in a browser. For cross-device access, confirm that Samsung Notes is set to sync with Samsung Cloud and that the same Samsung account is in use on both devices.

- On the other supported device, sign in with the same Samsung account and turn on Samsung Cloud sync in Samsung Notes settings.
- Open Samsung Notes and allow the app to sync before searching for the note.
Samsung’s instructions for using Samsung Notes on a PC include enabling sync in the PC app and confirming it is enabled on the phone or tablet. Menu names and availability can vary by model, software version, and country; Samsung’s guidance here is for the US.

Using a Windows PC
Samsung says Samsung Notes for PC is optimized for Galaxy Book models and may not be compatible with other Windows PCs. If the app is missing on a Galaxy Book, install it from Microsoft Store, sign in, and enable sync. The app’s availability and compatibility on other PC models are not guaranteed.
Why the Samsung Cloud website will not show individual notes
You can sign in to Samsung Cloud in a PC browser, but Samsung describes that portal as showing summaries of synced apps—not the contents of individual notes or files to download. To view synced Samsung Notes data, open Samsung Notes on a phone or tablet. See Samsung’s Samsung Cloud backup access guidance for details.

If a note is still missing
Import a note
Check whether the note can be brought into the app: in Samsung Notes, choose Menu → Settings → Import notes. Samsung’s guide to Samsung Notes features and settings describes importing notes, including from a Samsung account.

Samsung Notes can save notes in PDF, Word, PowerPoint, image, or text formats. If you previously exported the note, check the storage location or app where you saved it. A special limitation applies to PDF overlay translations: Samsung says they cannot be saved in their original translated state and do not support sync, sharing, saving, or backup and restore.

Restore from a backup
If you are setting up a replacement or reset Galaxy device, Samsung’s restore route is Settings → Samsung account → Samsung Cloud → Restore data. Choose an available prior backup. For a backup stored on a PC or external storage, Smart Switch can restore it to a new or reset device. The notes available depend on what the backup contained; a restore cannot recover data that was not backed up. Samsung’s Galaxy backup and restore instructions explain these options.

Samsung’s current OneNote sync troubleshooting notice says Samsung Notes-to-OneNote sync is unavailable on devices running One UI 9 and recommends Samsung Cloud sync instead. Other Samsung support pages may still show OneNote setup instructions, so check the current settings and guidance for your device rather than assuming that integration is available.
