First, confirm Moore’s status for this week
Do not use a past injury designation to decide a current lineup. Buffalo reported Moore out for its September 17, 2026 game after a shoulder and stinger injury, then listed him active for the September 27 game after he and Keon Coleman had been questionable. Those reports describe those matchups only. Check the Bills’ current injury report and official inactives close to kickoff for the game you are setting a lineup for.

Buffalo’s official depth chart is useful for seeing the team’s listed receiver order, but it does not confirm who will play in a particular game or how many routes and targets anyone will receive.
Which Bills receivers should you check?
Buffalo’s current depth chart lists Moore, Khalil Shakir and Coleman in its starting receiver slots. It lists Skyler Bell behind Moore, Greg Dortch behind Shakir, and Joshua Palmer behind Coleman. These are roster and depth-chart relationships, not a prediction that one player will inherit Moore’s fantasy production.

Start by checking whether Shakir or Coleman is available in your league. Then consider Palmer, Dortch and Bell if they are available and their expected roles make sense for your scoring and matchup. Buffalo’s August 30, 2026 53-man roster announcement also included Moore, Coleman, Palmer, Shakir and Bell among its receivers, but the later, current depth chart is more useful for listed ordering.
How to choose a fantasy replacement
- Check availability. Review your roster and waiver pool; the players listed on Buffalo’s depth chart may already be rostered.
- Compare expected opportunity. Look for current information on routes, targets and role. Being listed directly behind Moore on a depth chart does not establish that Bell will receive Moore’s workload.
- Apply your scoring rules. In a reception-scoring league, a receiver with a dependable catch opportunity may fit differently than in a format that rewards yardage or touchdowns more heavily.
- Account for the matchup and game environment. Consider the opponent, likely game script and any other receiver absences that could change the available workload.
- Compare the entire waiver pool. A receiver from another team may be a better start than any available Bills reserve. Choose the best option for your league rather than selecting a teammate by default.
The official Bills materials establish roster context and dated status reports, but they do not provide individualized projections for your league. Make the final choice using current role and health information alongside your league’s scoring rules.

What Moore’s early 2026 stats can—and cannot—tell you
Moore’s official Buffalo statistics page displayed five receptions for 100 receiving yards and one touchdown across his first two 2026 games when accessed on October 4, 2026. That is early-season context, not a forecast for a later week and not evidence that another receiver will reproduce those numbers.
Why the Chicago assumption is out of date
Buffalo announced Moore’s acquisition from Chicago on March 11, 2026. In the announced trade, Moore and Chicago’s 2026 fifth-round pick went to Buffalo in exchange for Buffalo’s 2026 second-round pick. For a current lineup decision, use Buffalo’s reports and depth chart rather than treating Moore as a Bear.
