Before resetting a Verizon Ellipsis 7, confirm which Google account or Verizon Cloud account contains the backup you want. A factory data reset erases data on the tablet and returns it to factory defaults; afterward, you must set it up again. Google’s backup and Verizon Cloud are separate recovery paths, and neither should be treated as a guaranteed copy of everything on the device.
Before you reset: identify and check your backup
The Ellipsis 7 user guide puts Google backup controls under Apps → Settings → Backup & reset. Before erasing the tablet, open that screen if you can and check:

- Back up my data: The guide says this setting enables or disables backup of current settings and application data to Google’s server.
- Backup account: View or add the Google account used for backup. Make sure you can sign in to that account during setup after the reset.
The guide is specific to the Ellipsis 7 but dates from an earlier Android era. Its description is not a guarantee that a current Google service has a complete, usable backup for this tablet. Also check for other copies of important files, such as files transferred to a computer or content stored in Verizon Cloud. Do not proceed until you have confirmed the account or service where the content you care about was actually saved.

How to factory reset the Ellipsis 7 from Settings
- On the tablet, open Apps → Settings → Backup & reset.
- Select Factory data reset.
- Review the warning and confirm the reset only after checking your backup account and any separate copies of important files.
- Wait for the tablet to erase its data and restart. You will be prompted to set it up again.
According to the Ellipsis 7 guide, a factory data reset returns the tablet to factory defaults and erases tablet data, including account settings, system and application data and settings, and downloaded applications. The reset itself does not create a backup.

Choose the restore path that matches where you saved the data

These are distinct services, not interchangeable full-device images. Google’s app and settings restoration does not imply that Verizon Cloud media will return, and Verizon Cloud’s listed categories do not mean it contains every item that was on the tablet.
Restore content from Verizon Cloud
- After setup, open the Verizon Cloud app and sign in to the account containing the backup.
- Tap the gear icon, then tap Restore content.
- Select the available content categories you want, such as Photos, Documents, or Calls, and tap Restore.
- When the app displays Restore from Verizon Cloud complete, restart the tablet as Verizon advises.
If a category or restore control is grayed out, Verizon says there is no content available to restore for it. Verizon also notes that a tablet without its own 10-digit mobile number shares a Verizon Cloud account with another device, so check the account associated with that other device if applicable.

If the tablet cannot open Settings
The reliable reset procedure described here is the Settings-based one. A recovery-button sequence is not established by the available authoritative, device-specific instructions, so do not rely on an unverified combination. If the Ellipsis 7 cannot reach Settings, contact Verizon support or consult a verified Ellipsis 7 service resource before attempting a hardware-button reset.
