On Pendola Pass, call the Ballistic Gondola from a map-marked Gondola Transceiver, then follow its incoming marker and the green smoke to the landing site. The gondola does not arrive at the tower: a guide updated October 8, 2026, based on early-access footage, reports a landing roughly 100–150 metres from the transceiver. Calling it makes noise, and entering a pod exposes you, so check the route and nearby cover before committing. These steps reduce risk; they cannot guarantee a clear or successful extraction.
The key is to treat extraction as a sequence rather than one interaction: locate the call point, summon the gondola, move to its separate landing site, and board only when the squad is ready. Flash Freeze and quest-item security can change the order of your priorities. This guide covers the reported timings and choices without treating early-access figures as permanent guarantees.

How Pendola Pass extraction works
The Ballistic Gondola is the described way off Pendola Pass. The extraction guide reports no Raider Hatches or walk-up elevators on this map. You call the gondola from a tower console at a Gondola Transceiver, then travel to its separate landing location and board one of its pods. In practical terms, reaching the transceiver is not the same as reaching the exit: there is a second leg of the trip after you summon it.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThat creates two exposed stages: reaching the call point and reaching the gondola after it arrives. Do not assume that activating the console also puts you beside the exit, or that the tower itself is where you should wait to board. The extraction guide’s reported distances and timings are based on early-access footage, and its page is marked as being updated; treat them as guidance rather than guaranteed values for every later game build.

There is no supported alternative extraction system to compare against on Pendola Pass in that guide. The useful choice is how to board the same gondola: enter a pod and close its door, or, as a reported overflow option, use a grappling hook to ride on top. A pod offers enclosure once you are inside and the door is shut. A top rider remains exposed to ARC and other squads, so the two approaches should not be treated as equally protective.
Ballistic Gondola extraction: step by step
- Find a transceiver. Open the map and locate a Gondola Transceiver at an extraction icon. Identify the tower before you start moving toward it, then consider the nearby area and your approach. The extraction guide reports that calling the gondola makes noise, so activating it is an observable event rather than a silent way to begin leaving.
- Check your readiness before calling. Decide whether your squad has finished the looting it intends to do, whether any quest item needs to go into a Safe Pocket, and who is ready to leave. If the team is still scattered or debating whether to continue searching, resolve that before using the console where possible. A call starts the extraction sequence, but it does not remove the need to travel to the landing location.
- Call the gondola. At the tower, use the console to request the Ballistic Gondola. The call point is where you summon it, not where it lands. Since the call makes noise, be prepared to move after activating it rather than lingering at the tower as though it were a sheltered waiting room.
- Orient toward the landing site. Use the transceiver’s directional light and the incoming marker on the map to work out where the gondola is headed. The guide reports that it lands about 100–150 metres from the transceiver and that green smoke marks its position on the ground. Follow those cues instead of waiting at the tower. The distance is an approximate reported figure, not a promise that every landing will be at exactly the same point.
- Choose a covered approach. Before leaving for the landing site, assess the route and the nearby cover you can use. The call is audible, and crossing into the landing area or breaching a pod can leave you exposed. A careful route can reduce exposure, but it cannot establish that the area is clear of ARC or other Raiders. The map marker and smoke identify the gondola; they do not report that enemies are absent.
- Check the landing area before boarding. Once you reach the gondola, take a moment to assess the immediate approach and decide which pod the squad will use. Avoid turning this into an extended search for additional loot: the priority is to board without splitting the team or spending unnecessary time in the exposed area. No route or visual cue guarantees a safe approach.
- Coordinate before anyone boards. The guide describes three pods. It reports that a roughly ten-second countdown begins as soon as the first player starts entering, even if squadmates are still outside. Agree on the approach and have the squad ready before anyone begins boarding; do not assume the gondola will wait for a late teammate. Three pods also do not establish unlimited capacity or prove that every squad configuration can fit inside.
- Enter a pod and close its door. Once you have chosen a pod and are ready to leave, breach it, get inside, and shut the door. The guide reports that the gondola waits about two minutes, but that timing is early-access-based guidance, not a guarantee. Use the reported wait as a reason to board promptly, not as a safe window to continue looting or wait indefinitely for someone who has not arrived.
Reduce exposure while calling and boarding
The most consequential choice is often when to leave, not how quickly to run. Calling broadcasts activity, and the pod breach creates another moment when you can be vulnerable. Once you have secured the items you care about, spending extra time searching nearby loot can add risk without improving the extraction itself. The guide does not say that a call attracts a particular number of enemies or that every call will be contested; the practical point is simply to account for the noise and avoid assuming the area will remain undisturbed.
A plan can be simple. Before the call, decide who is ready and whether anyone still needs to secure an objective item. After the call, use the direction cues to move toward the gondola. At the landing site, check the immediate area and board together. These are risk-reduction choices, not a method for guaranteeing that no other Raider or ARC unit is nearby.

- During the approach: Use the map marker and directional light to orient yourself. Choose cover where a practical covered route exists instead of crossing open ground by default.
- At the gondola: Check the landing area before initiating a pod breach. The smoke shows where the gondola is, not whether the location is clear.
- At boarding: Keep the squad together through the entry countdown. Because the reported countdown begins when the first player starts entering, boarding is the point to stop waiting for a teammate who is not already positioned to follow.
- After entering: Close the pod door and leave rather than treating the reported wait as an invitation to resume looting.
There is a reported alternative for overflow: Raiders can attach to the gondola with a grappling hook and ride on top. The guide warns that riders remain exposed to ARC and other squads. Treat this as a fallback, not an equivalent substitute for boarding inside a pod, and do not describe it as protected simply because it avoids entering a pod. If a pod is available and the Raider can board it, the guide’s stated exposure distinction makes the enclosed option the more defensible choice.
What to do if Flash Freeze starts
Pendola Pass is a frozen alpine map where Flash Freeze can begin during a raid. PC Gamer reports that players start taking damage after a while in the storm and that Storm Huts appear on the map and open during Flash Freeze, offering shelter and loot. That makes the storm a timing consideration: if it starts while you are preparing to extract, you need to weigh shelter against the gondola route rather than assuming you can ignore the weather.

If a Storm Hut is reachable without taking a worse route or giving up a viable gondola departure, consider using it for shelter. Check the map and your position, then compare the detour and exposure involved with continuing toward the landing site. The reported information does not say that a hut will always be near the player, that the route to one is safe, or that a hut is uncontested. Nor does it set an exact amount of time before storm damage begins. Use the hut as a possible shelter when it is a sensible option, not as a guaranteed safe stop.
If the gondola is already called, factor in its location and the squad’s readiness before abandoning the approach for a hut. The extraction guide’s reported two-minute gondola wait is approximate early-access guidance, not a timer to rely on as exact. Similarly, the storm report says damage begins after a while, but gives no precise grace period. Avoid making either figure more exact than the sources support. Your decision depends on the actual position of the hut, the gondola, and your squad in that raid.

For the Clean Hands quest, PC Gamer’s walkthrough identifies the Equatorial Sundial and advises putting it in the Safe Pocket. It says extracting with the item completes the final step. If you have the Sundial, secure it before continuing to loot or moving through an exposed area. A successful extraction matters to this quest step, so do not treat an unsecured quest objective as interchangeable with ordinary loot you can choose to leave behind.
The walkthrough also says that a player who has not yet extracted on Pendola Pass must activate a gondola console and go to the gondola’s drop location. That makes the call-and-travel sequence relevant to this quest objective, not just a routine exit. Calling from the console alone is not the same as completing the extraction described in the walkthrough: the player must also go to the gondola’s drop location and extract with the item.
Check the game’s current Safe Pocket rules for your situation. The walkthrough’s advice for the Equatorial Sundial does not establish that every quest item or every Safe Pocket configuration works identically. The practical order is to secure the named Sundial where appropriate, then decide whether more looting is worth the added exposure. Do not assume that carrying a different quest item means it receives the same protection automatically.

Check map conditions before deploying
Pendola Pass conditions can include ARC Frigate, Night Raid, and Redirection, while the map guide describes raid-to-raid changes in loot-zone value. Conditions and loot incentives can affect how much time you want to spend searching before leaving. A higher-value loot area may make another stop tempting, but it does not change the reported extraction sequence: call the gondola, travel to the landing marker, and board.

Use the official ARC Raiders live conditions page before deployment and select the relevant region. It is region-selectable and time-sensitive, so a static list or remembered schedule may not match the current conditions. Decide in advance whether a condition changes your intended route or how quickly you plan to extract; do not assume a particular condition will be active in every raid. Because the conditions are live and region-dependent, check the current page for your region instead of treating ARC Frigate, Night Raid, or Redirection as a fixed Pendola Pass schedule.
The map guide describes changes in loot-zone value from raid to raid, but does not provide a permanent schedule or a fixed value to quote here. Treat the map’s current incentives as a reason to adjust how much you want to loot, not as proof that a particular zone will always be worth the detour. If you already have your objective item and want to preserve it, the extraction decision should account for the value of what you are carrying as well as any additional loot you might find.
Common extraction mistakes to avoid
- Waiting at the tower: The gondola lands away from the transceiver. Follow the incoming marker and green smoke to its landing site.
- Calling without a departure plan: The call makes noise. Know how the squad will approach the landing area before requesting the gondola.
- Treating the reported distances as exact: The guide reports a landing about 100–150 metres away, based on early-access footage. Use the light, marker, and smoke to orient yourself rather than expecting a fixed distance in every version.
- Starting entry before the squad is ready: The reported countdown starts when the first player begins entering, not after everyone is aboard. Get teammates into position before the first breach.
- Assuming a pod is protected before entry: Breaching and boarding expose you. Check the approach and time the move with nearby threats in mind; enclosure applies after you enter and close the door.
- Assuming the gondola waits indefinitely: The guide reports a wait of about two minutes, but the figure is not a guarantee. Board promptly rather than relying on a precise or unlimited window.
- Riding on top as if it were a protected seat: The grappling-hook option is reported, but top riders remain exposed to ARC and other squads.
- Detouring to a Storm Hut without weighing the cost: Huts can shelter players during Flash Freeze, but one may not be nearby and the route may be riskier than continuing toward extraction.
- Keeping a quest item unsecured while continuing to loot: For the Clean Hands Equatorial Sundial, the walkthrough specifically recommends the Safe Pocket before extraction.
- Using a remembered condition schedule: ARC Frigate, Night Raid, and Redirection are examples of conditions, not a fixed schedule. Check the live, region-specific conditions page before deployment.
Use the gondola’s location cues, coordinate entry, and account for storms and quest items before you commit. The map marker and smoke help you find the landing site; they do not make the route safe. A closed pod provides a different level of exposure than riding on top, but neither the call nor the boarding procedure guarantees a clean departure. These precautions help avoid preventable mistakes on the way out without promising an extraction outcome.

Where does the gondola land?
Arc Raiders Hub’s extraction guide, updated October 8, 2026 and based on early-access footage, reports a landing about 100–150 metres from the transceiver. Follow the transceiver’s directional light, the incoming map marker, and green smoke rather than waiting at the tower. Treat the distance as approximate guidance.
How long does the gondola wait, and when does boarding start the countdown?
The guide reports that the gondola waits about two minutes and that a roughly ten-second countdown starts when the first player begins entering, even if teammates are still outside. Those are reported early-access-based timings, not guaranteed values for every later build. Have the squad ready before anyone starts boarding.
How many pods are on the Pendola Pass gondola?
The extraction guide describes three pods. It does not establish unlimited capacity or guarantee that every squad configuration will fit, so coordinate and board promptly.
Can I ride on top of the gondola?
The guide reports that Raiders can attach with a grappling hook and ride on top, but warns they remain exposed to ARC and other squads. Treat it as an overflow fallback, not as a protected alternative to entering a pod.
What should I do if Flash Freeze begins while I am extracting?
PC Gamer reports that Flash Freeze can cause damage after a while and that Storm Huts appear on the map and open during the event, providing shelter and loot. Consider a hut if it is reachable without a worse route or losing a viable gondola departure. A hut is not guaranteed to be nearby or safe.

The Bottom Line
To leave Pendola Pass with less avoidable exposure, call the Ballistic Gondola at a map-marked transceiver, follow its incoming marker and green smoke to the separate landing site, and board only when your squad is ready. Keep the Clean Hands Equatorial Sundial in the Safe Pocket where appropriate, and weigh Storm Hut shelter against the route and extraction timing if Flash Freeze starts. The reported timings come from early-access-based guidance; none of these steps guarantees a successful extraction.
