For everyday use, check which apps are using the most power and reduce unnecessary background activity. Samsung’s options can help conserve energy, but it does not publish a guaranteed runtime gain for each setting.
Use Power saving mode when you need more time
Samsung’s support instructions give this path: Settings → Battery and device care → Battery → Power saving. Menu names and available controls can vary with software and device, so follow the closest matching labels shown on your A35. Power saving mode extends usage time by disabling selected functions, features, or apps.

Samsung lists these possible trade-offs; your A35 may not show every option:

These are settings Samsung identifies as Power saving options, not measured percentages of battery saved. If you restrict available apps, some notifications may be delayed or not arrive: Samsung’s Galaxy S23 manual warns of this possibility, but it is not an A35-specific guarantee. Use restricted-app mode only if that interruption is acceptable.

Find and reduce unnecessary app use
Open the A35’s battery settings and review battery usage to see which apps are consuming power. If an app is active in the background more than you expect, check its own settings and the phone’s available battery controls before restricting it. A messaging, navigation, or security app may need background access to work as intended.
Samsung documents Background usage limits for infrequently used apps in its Galaxy S23 manual. That manual is not for the A35, so treat the feature as a Galaxy setting to look for—not a confirmed A35 menu path. Check the labels on your phone before changing app access.

Consider display refresh rate and brightness
A Samsung Galaxy S23 manual says Standard refresh rate can conserve battery compared with a smoother, higher refresh rate. The cited manual does not confirm the A35’s exact setting name or availability. If your A35 offers a refresh-rate choice, Standard is worth considering when battery life matters more than scrolling smoothness.
Brightness is another practical adjustment: lower it to a comfortable level rather than keeping the display brighter than the conditions require. Samsung lists a 10% brightness decrease as a possible Power saving option, but does not state how much extra runtime it produces.

Choose settings for the situation
- For routine days: Check battery usage, reduce brightness when practical, and investigate apps with unexpected background activity.
- When the battery is running low: Turn on Power saving and choose the restrictions that do not interfere with what you still need to do.
- For an emergency: Consider limiting available apps, but account for possible notification interruptions and reduced convenience.
- When you need 5G or full performance: Leave those Power saving restrictions off and use other options, such as reducing brightness or disabling Always On Display, if available.
Protecting battery lifespan is different from extending today’s runtime
Samsung’s Galaxy S23 manual describes a Protect battery feature that limits the maximum charge to 85% to help extend battery lifespan. A lower charge ceiling means less charge is available for the current day; it is a long-term battery-wear measure, not a way to make one full charge last longer. The manual is not A35-specific, so verify whether your A35 software includes this feature before relying on it.
What to expect from the Galaxy A35 battery
Samsung lists a 5,000 mAh typical battery capacity and a 4,905 mAh rated (minimum) capacity for the Galaxy A35 on its product specification page. Samsung’s “up to 2 days” battery-life estimate is based on an average usage profile assessed in the UK from January 11 to January 20, 2024, using pre-release SM-A356 phones at default settings over LTE and 5G Sub6—not 5G mmWave. It is an estimate, not a guarantee. Samsung notes that actual battery life varies with network conditions, features and apps, calls and messages, charge count, and other factors.

Charging is separate from runtime
The Galaxy A35 supports Super Fast Charging, and Samsung says its 25W wall charger is sold separately. A compatible charger can help recharge the phone; it does not extend the time the A35 runs between charges. Check the charger’s compatibility before buying.
