1. Reduce screen power use

Brightness controls also vary. The Nokia 2.2 guide advises disabling Adaptive brightness, while guidance for another Nokia model may differ. Try the available brightness setting that works best for your phone rather than treating one choice as universal.
2. Find what is using the battery
Open Settings > Battery, if that path is available, and look at the battery-use list. Check for apps using an unexpectedly large share, especially ones you rarely use or do not need to update constantly. Restrict background activity only where you are comfortable with the trade-off: messages, alerts, and other updates from restricted apps may arrive late.

Some Nokia models offer Adaptive Battery. HMD’s Nokia 4.2 guide describes the feature and notes that notifications for less-used apps may be delayed; do not assume that every Nokia phone includes it. Check the Nokia 4.2 guide for that model’s example controls.
3. Use Battery Saver when runtime matters more than background activity
Turn on Battery Saver when the charge is low or when you need the phone to last longer before you can recharge it. The Nokia 2.2 guide gives Settings > Battery > Battery saver as an example path; other Nokia phones may place the control elsewhere.

Battery Saver can limit or stop some background activity, and Google warns that this can delay functions, network connections, or app activity. It is most useful when conserving charge is more important than immediate syncing and updates. Google’s Android battery guidance explains the general trade-offs and notes that instructions can vary by Android version.
4. Switch off location and connections selectively
Turn off Bluetooth, location access, Wi-Fi scanning, or mobile connectivity when you are not using the feature that depends on it. Avoid switching them off reflexively: location-dependent apps may stop working properly when location is disabled. If you temporarily need neither calls nor mobile data, Airplane mode is an option, but it cuts access to the mobile network and wireless functions.

When Wi-Fi is available and suitable, using it instead of mobile data may help; HMD’s Nokia battery guides recommend managing these connections according to need. Heat advice is about battery care, not a guaranteed way to gain extra runtime immediately. Google recommends avoiding overheating, particularly when the phone is fully charged, and using the power adapter supplied with the device. A full-to-empty discharge cycle is not required to teach the phone its battery capacity. Follow the instructions for your Nokia model and charger. Why the exact steps differ between Nokia phones
Nokia phones do not all have the same menus or battery features. HMD’s guides for the Nokia 2.2 and Nokia 4.2 show different model-specific instructions, while Google notes that Android guidance can depend on both device type and Android version. Some of Google’s general instructions apply only to Android 13 or later.
