You can download an individual screenshot from a Visualping change alert, or export a report covering selected monitors and dates. Visualping’s separate “Export job settings data” feature exports monitor configuration—not screenshot history—so it will not create an archive of your saved visual evidence.
Download one screenshot from a change
- Open the relevant change or alert in Visualping. The visual view lets you compare the current and previous screenshots.
- Click the screenshot to open it in a new tab or download it. See Visualping’s Navigating Alerts instructions for the screenshot view and download behavior.
- Save the file with a name that identifies the monitored site and date, then store a local copy if you need to keep it for your records. Visualping’s guidance for journalists recommends retaining local copies of important documentation.
This is the direct route when you need the image for one specific change. For a selection of changes or checks, use a report instead.

Export a report for selected monitors or dates
- Open Visualping’s report-creation workflow and choose the monitors and period you need. The report workflow documents filters for monitor labels, page status, frequency, schedule type, and which checks to include. See Creating Visualping Reports.
- Choose the report contents. Depending on the reporting need, Visualping documents options for current and previous snapshots and markup, as well as important changes, all changes, all checks, or errors.
- Generate or open the report, then use its download button. Visualping documents CSV, Excel, HTML (shown as WEB in scheduled email links), and PDF exports. PDF is available from the web report. Its Navigating Reports page says: “The report can be exported through the Generate Report view, by clicking on the download button next to the report.”
- To retrieve a report later, open the History tab and look for it by name or date. Previously created reports can be re-exported there. Scheduled report emails also include download links; HTML is identified as WEB.
A report is useful for preserving and sharing a set of changes with context. It is not the same as downloading each original screenshot as a standalone image.
Choose the export that matches what you need
| Need | Use | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| One image from a particular change | Open the change or alert and click its screenshot | An individual screenshot opened in a new tab or downloaded |
| A selection of changes or checks over a period | Generate a report with the monitors, dates, and contents you want | A report downloadable as CSV, Excel, HTML/WEB, or PDF (PDF from the web report) |
| Monitor configuration details | Use “Export job settings data” | Selected monitor metadata in CSV or Excel; not screenshot history |
| Automated change records in your own system | Configure a webhook and store its payload and linked snapshots | Structured change information and links; requires your own endpoint or integration |
Keep job-settings exports separate from screenshots
Visualping’s “Export job settings data” action exports selected monitor attributes, such as descriptions, URLs, comparison types, and frequencies, to CSV or Excel. Visualping documents this feature as available to Business users. It is a metadata export, not an image or screenshot-history archive. Details are in How do I export my job data?

Automate capture of change records with webhooks
If you need a custom archive or workflow, Visualping webhooks can send structured change payloads containing links to original and current screenshots and HTML snapshots, along with a timestamp and monitor context. Your endpoint or integration must receive and store the data. A webhook is not a built-in bulk history-download button; see How do I use Webhooks?.
What Visualping’s documentation does not establish
The documented options cover individual screenshot downloads, report exports and retrieval, and webhook payload links. They do not establish a way to bulk-download every original screenshot from a monitor’s entire lifetime as image files, nor do they state a universal screenshot-retention period. If you depend on either capability, confirm current behavior for your account with Visualping support before planning an archive around it.

Or skip the browser setup
If you need a separate screenshot API rather than an export of existing Visualping history, ScreenshotNeo takes a screenshot with one GET request. Its API can capture a page as PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF; it does not retrieve Visualping’s historical screenshots.
For example, this cURL request saves a WebP screenshot of Stripe. Replace the target URL with the page you want to capture and supply your API key. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for parameters and response details.
