How to Export Versionista Website Change Reports

Versionista sends change summaries by email, with an optional spreadsheet attachment. Here’s how to configure delivery, find past emails and check export limitations.

Versionista’s documented way to receive website-change reports is by email: set a summary cadence in Account Settings and, if needed, enable a spreadsheet attachment for detected changes. The tutorial does not identify the attachment’s file format or document a general report-download button. These steps apply to existing Versionista accounts; the service says new monitoring accounts are now available through Fluxguard.

Set up Versionista change reports by email

  1. Sign in to Versionista and open Account Settings. Edit the summary-email settings.
  2. Choose a summary frequency, such as daily, weekly or monthly. The tutorial says daily is the default and that the frequency can be changed.
  3. Choose whether to receive a summary when no changes were detected.
  4. Set how comparison links should cover the reporting period: they can represent the latest change or span the full interval. Choose the full interval if you need to review changes across multiple updates during that period.
  5. Enable the optional spreadsheet attachment if you want detected changes attached to the email.

Versionista’s tutorial calls this a spreadsheet attachment but does not state whether it is CSV, XLSX or another format. Check the message you receive before relying on a particular file type. The tutorial also does not provide steps for manually downloading a report from the comparison viewer. Versionista’s email-alert tutorial describes these settings.

Find an earlier emailed report

If the message was deleted or is no longer in your inbox, use the full sent-email history link in Account Settings to review previously sent emails.

Summary-email change links are described as temporarily public for one week, allowing recipients without accounts to view the differences. This applies to those comparison links; it does not establish sharing or access rules for spreadsheet attachments or account data.

Can you download a Versionista report as Excel or CSV?

The official tutorial confirms an optional spreadsheet attachment, but does not name its extension or confirm that it opens as Excel or CSV. It also does not document a general report download control. If you need a specific format, inspect the attachment from your account or ask Versionista support rather than assuming a format.

Can the Versionista API export reports?

The Versionista API documentation describes the API as experimental and subject to change. It documents a test endpoint and a watch endpoint for adding a URL to monitoring; it does not document an endpoint for retrieving report files. Do not treat those endpoints as a supported report-export method. For automation, confirm availability with Versionista support or check whether account-specific tools provide the report retrieval you need.

What existing and new users should expect

Versionista’s current homepage says existing customer accounts remain supported without changes required, while new web-monitoring accounts are available through Fluxguard. Existing users can follow the Versionista email-report steps above; prospective users should expect the new-account path to lead to Fluxguard.
