For a screenshot-like PDF, use Safari on iPhone: take a screenshot, choose Full Page, then save it as a PDF to Files. On desktop, capture the full page in Firefox and convert the saved image to PDF. If you need selectable text or normal paper-sized pages, use the browser’s print-to-PDF workflow instead—and check its preview, because print layout is not the same as a scrolling screenshot.
Choose the right kind of PDF first
A full-page screenshot preserves a webpage as a tall, screenshot-like image. A browser’s Print > Save as PDF command instead creates a print rendering: it may paginate the page, change its layout, or omit screen-only elements. The result is better suited to conventional pages, but it is not necessarily a single continuous capture.

- Choose a full-page screenshot when matching the page’s on-screen appearance matters more than text selection or ordinary paper pages.
- Choose print to PDF when you want a conventional multipage document and can review and adjust the print preview.
Official documentation does not guarantee OCR, searchability, or selectable text for every screenshot or printed webpage. A site may also change its layout for printing, so inspect the output rather than assuming either method will reproduce every page exactly.
iPhone: save a Safari full-page screenshot as PDF
Apple documents a direct workflow for capturing content that extends beyond the iPhone screen, including a complete Safari webpage:

- Open the webpage in Safari and take a screenshot using your device’s screenshot buttons.
- Tap the screenshot preview, then select Full Page.
- Scroll within the preview to inspect the captured page.
- Open the save options and choose Save PDF to Files, then select a location.
Button layouts can vary by device and iOS version. Look for the named options rather than expecting the controls to appear in precisely the same place on every iPhone. This is Apple’s documented iPhone workflow; the Safari for Mac PDF-export steps have not been established here.
Desktop: capture a full-page screenshot in Firefox
Firefox documents full-page screenshot capture, including a --fullpage option. Capture the page, save the screenshot image, then open or print that image using your operating system’s PDF destination. In the print preview, choose a fit-to-page or fit-to-printable-area option if available. Match portrait or landscape to the image and inspect all edges before saving.

Mozilla’s developer documentation supports the full-page capture method, but does not establish identical menu labels in every current Firefox version. If your Firefox interface differs, use the documented capture feature available in your version, then use the operating system’s PDF destination to convert the saved image.

Desktop: print a conventional PDF and prevent clipping
Use the browser’s print command when you want a paper-style PDF rather than one tall screenshot. Open the print preview before saving; the preview is where you can spot clipping and tune the page setup.

Chrome
- Open Print with Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+P on Mac.
- Select the destination and choose Save as PDF.
- Review the preview and available print settings, then save only after checking every page and edge.
Firefox
- Open Print and choose Save to PDF.
- Expand the settings and adjust paper size, scale, orientation, or margins as needed.
- Check the preview again before saving.
Mozilla cautions that webpages can appear differently on paper than on screen. Its guidance says: “Web pages can set themselves up to appear different on paper to how they look on screen, so don’t be surprised to see some changes.”
Microsoft Edge
- Open Print and inspect the preview.
- Adjust scale and other print settings as needed.
- Review each sheet and its edges before saving the PDF.
Microsoft defines Fit to printable area as automatically adjusting content size to fit within the paper’s printable area. It fits content on each sheet; it does not make a long webpage into one continuous screenshot page. Edge also offers Actual size and Custom scaling options.

Fix clipping in the preview
- Content is missing at the left or right edge: try landscape orientation, a smaller scale, or narrower margins.
- Content is missing around a page break: change the scale or paper size, then inspect the preview again.
- The printout looks unlike the screen: the site may define its own print layout. Try the full-page screenshot method if screenshot-like appearance is the priority.
No single print setting guarantees identical output for every website. Check all preview pages and all four edges before saving.

Mobile Chrome: don’t assume iPhone PDF-save steps
Google’s cited Chrome help for iPhone and iPad describes printing through AirPrint, but does not document a direct Save as PDF destination in Chrome for iOS. Do not assume Chrome on iPhone has the same PDF-saving steps as desktop Chrome or Chrome on Android.

That is not guaranteed. The PDF preserves a screenshot-like image, while browser print output is a print rendering; neither workflow’s cited documentation promises selectable text for every webpage.
