In Confluence Cloud, open the database, select the ••• menu in the upper-right corner, choose Export, and select CSV. Download the file, then open or import it in Excel. CSV is the spreadsheet-friendly format; the export menu also offers HTML and PDF.

Choose the right kind of Confluence export
“Confluence database” can refer to different things. The built-in database export is for records in Confluence Cloud’s database feature. A space export concerns space content, while an analytics export produces a report; neither is a replacement for exporting database-feature rows.
Space export is not a database-record export
Atlassian’s Cloud space-migration guidance warns that database entries can appear in an exported content tree without retaining their content, data, or functionality. For the rows stored in a Cloud database feature, use its own export menu. Space export formats and workflows vary; Atlassian documents CSV space export chiefly for moving a space to another Confluence Cloud instance. See Atlassian’s space export documentation and its Cloud site or space migration guidance.
Analytics CSV is a report, not a database dump
Confluence space analytics can export CSV reports described as compatible with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. The cited report covers active pages, live docs, and blogs for a selected time period; inactive content is excluded. Use it for analytics reporting, not as a way to export a database’s records. Atlassian’s space analytics export instructions explain that report workflow.

The application database behind a Confluence installation is different from the Cloud database feature. The appropriate process depends on deployment type, database platform, and which records are needed. Atlassian’s Data Center examples cover exporting selected SQL query results to CSV, not a general, supported procedure for dumping the entire Confluence database into an Excel workbook. One example is specific to Questions for Confluence and cautions that direct database manipulation is outside the app’s intended functionality and support coverage; it recommends testing in a development or staging environment. Do not apply that example as a universal export method. Review Atlassian’s relevant database guidance and confirm the deployment-specific approach with your administrator.
