Approach and listen before inspecting it if you want to record the point of interest in your journal.
Where is Braithwaite Manor?
Look south of Rhodes in Scarlett Meadows, Lemoyne. The estate is a large plantation, and the hidden-secret location is on its southwest waterfront side. The Red Dead Wiki’s manor reference describes the surrounding estate landmarks and optional exploration finds.

How to find Braithwaites’ Secret
- Travel to Braithwaite Manor and make your way to the southwest waterfront side of the property.
- Search for a concealed outhouse south of the nearby workers’ buildings.
- Approach the outhouse and listen for the occupant before interacting with it.
- Inspect it after listening. The GameFAQs community guide notes that inspecting too early can prevent the point of interest, Braithwaites’ Secret, from being recorded.
The GameFAQs point-of-interest guide describes this listen-first sequence. If the entry does not appear, check your journal; the guide warns that the order of interaction matters.
What changes after the manor burns?
Braithwaite Manor is central to Chapter 3’s mission “Blood Feuds, Ancient and Modern.” During the mission, the gang confronts the Braithwaites and searches the house for Jack; the manor burns at the end. After completing the mission, return to the estate to explore the ruins. The mission sequence is covered in the RDR2.org Chapter 3 missions guide.

Loot reported in the ruins
The Red Dead Wiki reports a gold-bar lockbox in a room east of Catherine Braithwaite’s body, accessible from Chapter 4 onward. Treat the timing and precise placement as a guide-reported detail rather than an officially confirmed guarantee, and check your own save for availability.
