How to Enable or Disable Sleep Mode on an Epson Projector

Epson projector sleep settings vary by model. Find Sleep Mode under ECO or Operation, or check whether your projector uses a separate Sleep Timer countdown.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

To change sleep behavior on an Epson projector, press Menu, find Sleep Mode under the model’s ECO or Operation menu, then choose Off to disable inactivity-based shutoff or On to enable it. The menu path varies by model, and a setting called Sleep Timer may instead be a separate countdown.

Change Sleep Mode in the projector menu

  1. Turn on the projector. Press Menu on the remote or on the projector’s control panel if your model provides menu access there. Epson documents both options for the PowerLite 1263W.
  2. Locate the sleep control. Check ECO or Operation; the path depends on the model. For example, the PowerLite 1263W places Sleep Mode in ECO, while the EB-810E/815E places it in Operation. See the PowerLite 1263W guide and EB-810E/815E user guide.
  3. Choose On or Off. Select Off to stop the documented inactivity-based Sleep Mode behavior, or On to enable it. On the EB-810E/815E, the separate timer works only when Sleep Mode is on.
  4. Check for a separate timer. Where available, a Sleep Mode timer controls how long the projector waits before turning off; it is not the same as the On/Off switch. Epson’s current ECO menu reference describes Sleep Mode as automatically turning the projector off after an interval of inactivity when enabled, and gives a 1-to-30-minute timer range. The range is model-specific, not universal.

Sleep Mode and Sleep Timer are not always the same setting

Check the wording on your projector before changing a countdown. Epson’s EF-12 guide labels a preset countdown Sleep Timer and places it at Settings > Sleep Timer. Its choices are Off or 15, 30, 45, 60, 90, and 120 minutes. This is a countdown to automatic turn-off, not necessarily the inactivity-triggered Sleep Mode found in other models. If an on-screen countdown appears, canceling it changes the EF-12 setting to Off. See the EF-12 user guide.

If the projector still turns off

Disabling Sleep Mode may not disable every automatic-off behavior. Check the model’s menu and guide for other timers or shutdown triggers, and note whether the projector shows a countdown or loses its input signal before turning off. On the PowerLite 1263W, Epson lists Lens Cover Timer and A/V Mute Timer separately from Sleep Mode. Those controls are documented for that model; their presence on other Epson projectors is not established by the cited guides.

Use the guide for your exact model

Epson menu labels and locations vary across projector models. Search the model-specific user guide for “Sleep Mode” or “Sleep Timer” and follow the path shown there rather than assuming one menu route applies to every Epson projector. The examples above reflect settings documented for the named models and Epson’s 2025 ECO reference.
