Choose compile settings
Select the frame rate and output resolution offered in the app. Its listing documents 720p or 1080p output, while the plans page lists 1080p/60fps for Pro. Do not assume every resolution and frame-rate combination is available on every plan.

Cross Clip editing is different from Twitch’s mobile clip editor
Cross Clip is a separate app for editing clips from your phone. Twitch’s own Help page, “How to Create, Edit, and Share Clips,” says mobile users can trim and title clips during creation, but portrait clip editing is not yet available in Twitch’s mobile workflow. Twitch places portrait-layout editing in the Creator Dashboard workflow. That limitation applies to Twitch’s native tool, not to the Cross Clip app. Twitch announced portrait versions and portrait-layout adjustment in its clip workflow on August 28, 2024; the current Help page is the relevant guide to its mobile limitations.

Before you publish
- Review rights and permissions. Only upload or share footage and audio you are allowed to use. A clip being available online does not by itself establish permission to repost it.
- Check the result on the destination. Confirm that the key action remains visible in the crop and that the exported file plays as expected before publishing.
- Confirm the current limits. Upload caps, export options, plan prices, app availability, and device requirements can change. The US Apple App Store listing reports iOS 14.1 or later, but that is specific to that listing and region; check the relevant store page for your device.
Common problems and what to check
- A URL will not import: Check that it is a clip URL from Twitch, YouTube, or Kick, rather than a general channel or video link. If the app still cannot import it, try uploading the video from your phone.
- The upload is rejected: Compare the file size with your plan’s listed upload limit: up to 100 MB on Free or up to 1 GB on Pro. Check current plan terms before relying on those limits.
- The desired output setting is unavailable: Check the plan’s export options. The documented Pro offering includes 1080p/60fps; the available resolution and frame rate may depend on plan and app version.
- The clip looks poorly framed: Revisit the layout and content-box positions before compiling. The documented controls allow you to arrange layers and position content boxes.
- You cannot find a downloaded clip: Use the app’s clip view and download controls, then check the destination your phone uses for saved files. File location can vary by device and operating system.
