1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDocument an AI-agent infrastructure change as an evidence package, not a folder of loose screenshots. Start with an approved change record, capture the complete before state, preserve the agent’s identity and tool activity, capture the verified after state, assemble an indexed PDF, and hash both the PDF and its source files. A reviewer should be able to reconstruct who authorized the change, what the agent and tools did, which controls were applied, what happened afterward, and whether the evidence was altered.
This guide gives a repeatable workflow for change tickets, browser or console captures, logs, approvals, tests, rollback details, retention, and PDF export. It also shows how to make screenshots audit-ready, how to prove what an agent changed, and how to automate clean captures with ScreenshotNeo.

What makes an AI infrastructure change audit-ready?
An audit-ready package connects authorization, execution, verification, and retention. A screenshot is useful evidence only when a reviewer can identify the system, environment, point in time, and relationship to the approved change. The image must be accompanied by machine-readable records and enough context to reproduce the conclusion.

For an AI agent, the package must cover more than a configuration diff. Record the agent identity, model and provider version, tools, policies, permissions, attempted actions, allowed and denied actions, outputs, tests, monitoring signals, and rollback decision. Keep the original image unchanged; put arrows, highlights, and explanatory labels on a derivative.

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF) Playbook asks: “Did you establish mechanisms that facilitate the AI system’s auditability (e.g. traceability of the development process, the sourcing of training data and the logging of the AI system’s processes, outcomes, positive and negative impact)?” Its Core also calls for post-deployment monitoring that includes incident response, recovery, and change management. AI RMF 1.0 was released on January 26, 2023, and NIST describes the framework as a living document whose update history is tracked through version-control tables. The workflow below applies those ideas to infrastructure changes without claiming that a screenshot or PDF alone provides certification.
What should an AI change record include?
Open the change record before touching production. Use stable field names so an auditor can compare records over time.
| Record area | Capture these details | Why the reviewer needs it |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose and scope | Business reason, systems in scope, components explicitly out of scope, expected user or data impact | Defines what the approval covered and prevents scope from expanding silently. |
| Risk and controls | Risk assessment, policy or control IDs, data classification, segregation-of-duties requirements, approval gates | Connects the change to the organization’s governance decisions. |
| Ownership | Requestor, technical owner, accountable approver, implementer, escalation contact | Establishes who authorized and performed each step. |
| Environment | Production, staging, or development; region and account; cluster, tenant, project, and service identifiers; relevant hostnames | Prevents a screenshot from being mistaken for another environment. |
| Agent and model | Agent name and immutable identity, model/provider, model version, system prompt or policy version identifier, run ID, start and end times | Shows which automated actor made decisions and when. |
| Tools and permissions | Tool names and versions, API scopes, service accounts, temporary credentials or role IDs (never secret values), allow/deny policy version | Lets a reviewer understand the agent’s authority and limits. |
| Implementation plan | Commands, deployment or ticket IDs, sequence, maintenance window, dependencies, success criteria | Provides a timeline that can be matched to logs. |
| Rollback | Exact rollback procedure, artifact or configuration version, owner, trigger conditions, estimated recovery steps | Demonstrates that recovery was planned before execution. |
| Evidence pointers | Storage URI or record IDs for screenshots, logs, approvals, tests, alerts, and the final PDF | Creates a chain from the ticket to immutable evidence. |
How to preserve before-and-after evidence
1. Open and approve the change
- Write the purpose, scope, risk, owner, approver, affected systems, environment, agent identity, model/provider version, tool versions, policy version, and rollback plan.
- Attach the planned configuration diff or deployment artifact. Record the approval event ID and the policy or control under which it was approved.
- Set a change identifier that appears in filenames, log fields, and the eventual PDF index. Use a consistent timestamp standard, preferably UTC, and record the clock source used by your systems.
2. Capture the before state
Capture the console or browser view before implementation. Include the browser or console context, system identifier, environment label, relevant configuration, and a visible timestamp or linked event ID. If the page is long, capture a full-page image or separate, numbered sections. Preserve the untouched original and calculate its hash immediately.
- Keep the URL, account or tenant, region, and selected resource visible when they establish context.
- Capture access-control settings, model endpoints, tool permissions, queues, schedules, and alert thresholds that the change may affect.
- Record a screenshot manifest entry with filename, capture time, operator or process, viewport, and source URI.
3. Execute the approved change
Run only the approved sequence. Retain command IDs, deployment IDs, ticket references, and the exact artifact or configuration version. Store agent tool calls and outcomes where available: the tool requested, parameters after secret redaction, authorization decision, result, and error text. Record denied actions as well as successful ones; a denied attempt demonstrates that a control was active.
4. Capture the after state and verification
After the change reaches its intended state, capture the same views and identifiers used for the before state. Add verification evidence: test results, health checks, monitoring signals, approval gates, denied actions, and any incident or exception. If the UI displays a generated value, preserve the underlying API response or log entry as machine-readable evidence rather than relying on the image alone.
- Run the documented functional and security tests.
- Record test command, version, start and end time, result, and artifact location.
- Capture dashboards or logs showing the expected post-change behavior and the observation window used.
- Document any deviation, incident, or exception and link its decision record.
5. Decide whether to close or roll back
Compare the verification result with the success criteria in the ticket. If the criteria are not met, record the rollback trigger, execute the pre-approved rollback, capture the restored state, and link the incident or exception. Do not overwrite failed evidence; retain it and label the outcome.

How do I make screenshots audit-ready?
Use a capture standard that makes every image independently understandable while keeping the original pixels intact.
Context that belongs in or beside the image
- Change ID, environment, system or resource identifier, and UTC capture time.
- Browser or console name and version when rendering differences could matter.
- URL or API endpoint, account or tenant, region, and selected configuration panel.
- Event, deployment, run, or log ID that a reviewer can follow in the source system.
- Viewport dimensions, device preset, zoom, and whether the image is full-page or an element capture.
Originals, derivatives, and redaction
Write the original file once to restricted storage. Create a derivative for arrows, boxes, callouts, or redaction. Keep a manifest that maps the derivative to the original hash and records who made the annotation and why. Remove secrets, access tokens, private keys, session cookies, and unnecessary personal data before sharing. If redaction changes the meaning, retain the unredacted original under stricter access and explain the redaction in the manifest.
Readable and reproducible framing
Prefer a full-page capture for configuration pages, then add close-ups for values that become unreadable when scaled. Keep the same viewport and zoom for before and after images. Avoid transient hover states unless they are the evidence. For dynamic dashboards, record the query range, refresh time, filters, and timezone; otherwise a reviewer cannot reproduce the displayed result.
How do I prove what an agent changed?
Build a timeline that joins the change record to the agent run and the infrastructure event stream.
- Identify the actor. Store the agent’s immutable identity, model/provider and version, policy version, run ID, and service account or role.
- Record intent. Preserve the approved task text, ticket reference, scope, and success criteria. Keep sensitive prompts in an access-controlled location and reference them by ID in the package.
- Record tool activity. For each call, retain timestamp, tool and version, target resource, parameters after secret removal, authorization decision, response status, and outcome. Include retries and denied calls.
- Join system events. Link deployment, configuration, authentication, and audit-log event IDs to the corresponding tool call and screenshot.
- Show the resulting state. Use before-and-after captures plus API or configuration exports so a reviewer can distinguish an intended change from an unrelated background update.
When a platform cannot expose a complete tool trace, state that limitation in the package and use the strongest available evidence: gateway logs, role-assumption events, deployment records, and immutable configuration snapshots. Do not imply that a screenshot proves an action that has no corroborating event.
How do I export an AI infrastructure change to a PDF an auditor can review?
Create a navigable evidence book rather than printing a ticket and appending random files.

Recommended PDF order
- Cover page: change ID, title, environment, owner, approval date, evidence-package version, and confidentiality classification.
- Change metadata: purpose, scope, risk, controls, agent/model/tool versions, identities, implementation window, and rollback plan.
- Chronological index: item number, timestamp, evidence type, source ID, filename, hash, and a one-sentence relevance note.
- Before evidence: numbered screenshots with captions and links to source records.
- Execution evidence: command or deployment IDs, agent tool-call excerpts, authorization decisions, and relevant logs.
- After and verification: matching screenshots, tests, monitoring observations, approvals, denied actions, and exceptions.
- Rollback record: either the verification that rollback was unnecessary or the exact rollback evidence.
- Control mapping and sign-off: map each control or policy requirement to page and item numbers; record reviewer names, dates, and decisions.
- Appendix: glossary, redaction notes, manifest, and machine-readable file inventory.
Make the PDF usable
- Use selectable text for metadata and logs; do not submit a stack of rasterized pages when source text is available.
- Give every figure a stable number and caption. Refer to figure numbers from the index and narrative.
- Include page numbers, bookmarks, document version, and generation timestamp.
- Keep the original screenshots and machine-readable logs alongside the PDF. The PDF is an indexable review artifact, not the sole copy of evidence.
How do I preserve integrity, retention, and access?
After assembly, hash the final PDF and every source artifact with an approved cryptographic hash process. Store the manifest containing filename, size, hash, capture time, and evidence-package version. Restrict write access, separate read and administrative roles, and record the immutable storage location in the change record.
Document the retention period, legal hold process, and disposal date. Retention must cover the organization’s policy and any incident or investigation hold; do not promise a universal period. Log access to the package and review permissions periodically. A checksum detects later changes, but it does not prove who created an artifact or that the original system was truthful, so preserve approvals, identity events, and source logs as well.
DIY browser and console capture workflow
For a low-volume change, a controlled browser session can produce adequate evidence.
Recommended Free Tools
- Sign in using the approved operator or read-only review identity and note the account, tenant, region, and browser version.
- Open the exact resource and verify the environment label. Expand the configuration sections relevant to the change.
- Capture the before state with the browser’s full-page screenshot function or the console’s export control. Save the original file with the change ID and UTC timestamp.
- Copy the page URL, event ID, and visible resource identifier into the screenshot manifest.
- Perform the approved change in the designated session. Save command output, deployment IDs, and agent trace references.
- Reload the resource, wait for the control plane to show the new revision, and capture the matching after view.
- Run verification tests, capture their result and monitoring window, then export the PDF using the structure above.
- Hash the PDF and source files, move them to restricted immutable storage, and link the location from the ticket.
Browser captures can be misleading when cookie banners, newsletter popups, chat widgets, bot checks, lazy-loaded content, or responsive layouts obscure the page. Record any such condition and capture again after the page is stable. Never crop away context that establishes the system or environment.
Or skip the browser setup: ScreenshotNeo
ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server for developers. It accepts one GET request and returns a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. Before capture, it can accept the cookie or consent banner like a visitor and remove more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each cleanup step can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and the response identifies the result with X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed headers.
Use the API response as one evidence item, then store the request parameters, response headers, capture timestamp, and returned file hash in your manifest. It does not replace approvals, agent traces, logs, tests, or retention controls.

For an infrastructure evidence page, useful options include full-page capture with lazy images loaded; a single element selected by CSS selector; dark mode; 12 device presets or a custom viewport; retina scale; PDF paper size, margins, landscape mode, and page ranges; custom CSS and JavaScript; clicking an element before capture; hiding selectors; waiting for a selector, delay, or network idle; blocking ads, trackers, requests, or resource types; custom headers, cookies, user agent, and Authorization; timezone and geolocation; transparent background; image resizing; caching with a chosen TTL; signed links for public image tags; asynchronous jobs with signed webhooks; bulk capture of up to 100 URLs per call; a usage API; and an OpenAPI specification. Parameter names used by other screenshot APIs also work, which can simplify migration.

Troubleshooting audit evidence
The screenshot is blank or incomplete
Check whether the page requires a longer wait, network idle, a selector-specific wait, authentication cookies, custom headers, or a user agent. Lazy-loaded images may need full-page capture with scrolling. Preserve the failed attempt and its result, then capture a corrected version; do not silently replace it.
A consent banner or popup covers the configuration
Use an approved cleanup step or close the element before capture. Record that the banner was removed and keep the original URL and timestamp. If the overlay is itself evidence, capture it separately before dismissing it.
The page triggers a bot check or CAPTCHA
Stop automated retries that could worsen the challenge. Use an authorized interactive session or an approved alternate evidence source, and record the blocked attempt and decision. A failed load should remain visible in the timeline.
Before and after images do not match
Compare viewport, zoom, theme, locale, timezone, filters, and responsive breakpoints. Re-capture both states under identical settings. If the interface changed between captures, explain the difference and supplement the images with configuration exports or API responses.

Secrets or personal data appear in an image
Restrict the original, create a redacted derivative, hash both, and document the redaction. Rotate an exposed credential according to your incident procedure; do not rely on cropping as a security control.
The PDF is too large to review
Keep original high-resolution files in the evidence store and place readable, appropriately resized derivatives in the PDF. Use bookmarks, an index, and page ranges. Avoid repeated copies of the same log; reference the machine-readable source instead.
A hash does not verify
Check whether the file was recompressed, renamed by an export system, or altered during transfer. Recompute the hash from the preserved original, compare the manifest, and document any legitimate format conversion as a new artifact with its own hash.
Performance, reliability, and cost decisions
- Volume: A versioned folder with checksums can suit low-volume work. As agents, environments, reviewers, or framework mappings multiply, central evidence or governance software becomes more valuable for indexing, permissions, and retention.
- Capture latency: Full-page images, lazy-loaded content, custom scripts, and network-idle waits take longer than a small viewport. Set explicit timeouts and retain the response status.
- Reliability: Use deterministic settings, retries with a limit, and a record of every attempt. Never treat a cached or failed response as a fresh observation; inspect the response verdict and billing headers.
- Cost control: Capture only the pages and elements that establish the change, use caching when a repeat observation is valid, and use bulk capture for up to 100 URLs when the evidence set is independent. Keep source artifacts because a cheap screenshot is not a substitute for logs or approvals.
- Access: Separate capture credentials from evidence-store administration. Signed links, restricted buckets, and logged access reduce accidental exposure, but still require your organization’s own retention and redaction policy.
Final reviewer checklist
- Can the reviewer identify the approved change, owner, approver, environment, and risk?
- Are agent, model, tool, identity, and policy versions recorded?
- Do before-and-after images show the same context and link to event IDs?
- Are successful, denied, retried, and failed agent actions represented?
- Do tests, monitoring observations, incidents, and rollback evidence support the outcome?
- Does the PDF have a cover, chronological index, captions, bookmarks, control mapping, and sign-off?
- Are originals, machine-readable logs, derivatives, hashes, retention dates, and access controls documented?
- Have secrets and unnecessary personal data been removed without destroying reproducibility?
Frequently Asked Questions
Can screenshots alone prove an AI agent changed a system?
No. Screenshots show a rendered state at a point in time. Pair them with agent identity, tool-call records, authorization decisions, deployment or audit-log IDs, and verification results.
Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteShould the original screenshots be annotated?
Keep originals unchanged and annotate derivatives. Record the original hash and the relationship between each derivative and its source in the manifest.
What if the approved change fails halfway through?
Retain the failed evidence, record the deviation or incident, execute the pre-approved rollback when its trigger applies, and capture the restored state as a separate timeline entry.
Is a PDF a sufficient retention format?
No. Keep the PDF for human review together with source images, machine-readable logs, manifests, hashes, approvals, and retention metadata.
How often should an evidence package be reviewed?
Review it at change closure and whenever an incident, exception, legal hold, or retention-policy event affects the package. Ongoing access reviews should follow your organization’s governance schedule.
