To disable Apple Intelligence Report on managed Macs, create a macOS Settings catalog policy in Intune and set Declarative Device Management (DDM) > Intelligence Settings > Allow Apple Intelligence Report to disallow reports. Assign the policy to the intended device group, then check its deployment status and verify the setting on a representative Mac. This turns off the report—not Apple Intelligence features generally.
Where is Allow Apple Intelligence Report in Intune?
Microsoft exposes this control in the macOS Settings catalog. Use the Intune admin center path below; labels can change, so confirm the available setting in your tenant before deploying.

- Go to Devices > Manage devices > Configuration.
- Select Create > New policy, choose macOS as the platform, and select Settings catalog as the profile type. Microsoft documents the catalog route for Apple declarative configurations at Microsoft Learn: Settings catalog.
- In the settings picker, expand Declarative Device Management (DDM) > Intelligence Settings and select Allow Apple Intelligence Report. Microsoft lists the setting in its macOS Intune updates.
- Configure the setting to disallow Apple Intelligence reports. Apple describes the corresponding restriction as preventing Apple Intelligence reports in its device-management restrictions reference.
- Assign the policy to the target managed Mac device group. If your organization uses staged rollouts, start with a pilot group.
- Review the profile’s status in Intune and verify the report control on a representative managed Mac.
What does this policy disable?
Apple Intelligence Report is a privacy report about requests sent to Private Cloud Compute. Disallowing the report does not disable Apple Intelligence as a whole. Apple documents separate controls for capabilities including Writing Tools, Genmoji, Image Playground, and app-specific features in Mail, Notes, and Safari, as well as external intelligence integrations. See Apple’s restrictions reference and Microsoft’s Intune macOS catalog updates.
If your policy goal is to block particular AI capabilities, configure their separate controls in addition to the report setting. Choose only the controls that match your organization’s requirement; do not assume the report setting blocks requests or features themselves.

Which macOS versions and management conditions matter?
Apple Intelligence Report support
Apple’s restrictions reference lists the report restriction as available starting with macOS 15.4 and marks it as requiring supervision. That is the minimum stated for the restriction entry. Check the current Intune catalog and your device and enrollment mix to confirm that the declarative control applies to your Macs.
Current declarative management
Apple’s WWDC26 device-management update says MDM restrictions-payload keys for Apple Intelligence, Siri, and keyboard settings were deprecated in macOS 26.4 and related platform releases. Apple describes a shift to declarative configuration, including com.apple.configuration.intelligence.settings for Apple Intelligence capability and app-specific controls. For current operating systems, use the declarative settings exposed in Intune where supported rather than relying on older payload keys.

External intelligence is a separate policy area
External intelligence settings govern third-party integrations, not the Apple Intelligence Report switch. Apple’s external intelligence configuration guide lists macOS 26.4 as the minimum, requires supervision, and supports Automated Device Enrollment. Microsoft lists External Intelligence Settings in the macOS catalog, including Allow Sign In and Allowed Workspace IDs. Configure these separately only if your policy also covers external integrations.

How should you validate deployment?
- Confirm that the target Macs are managed, are in the assigned group, and meet the applicable platform and supervision requirements.
- Check the Intune configuration profile status for the assigned devices and investigate any device-level errors or pending deployment.
- On a representative Mac, confirm the report is prevented after policy application. A successful assignment alone does not establish that every device received or applied the setting.
- For a broader AI restriction, validate each separately configured capability or integration control; the report setting only addresses the report.
