For one trusted website, use a site-specific permission or allowlist when available; changing a browser-wide setting affects more sites. The steps below cover the platforms documented by the browser and blocker makers, rather than every browser version.
Before you change a setting: identify the blocker
A browser’s built-in control and an installed ad-blocking extension are separate. For example, Chrome’s Intrusive ads setting controls ads on sites Chrome classifies as having intrusive ad experiences; it does not turn off a separately installed extension. If you do not know which tool is blocking the page, check the browser’s extensions or add-ons for an ad blocker, then use that tool’s controls.

Where possible, allow ads on the individual site instead of disabling protection everywhere. After changing a permission or allowlist, reload the page. If you paused blocking temporarily, turn it back on when you are finished if you want it active again.
Disable a browser’s built-in ad control
Google Chrome on a computer
Chrome’s built-in control targets intrusive ads, such as experiences involving too many ads, flashing graphics, autoplaying audio, or ad walls. To allow ads on all sites, open More > Settings > Privacy and security > Site settings > Additional content settings > Intrusive ads. Under Default behavior, select “Any site you visit can show any ad to you.” This changes Chrome’s default behavior; it does not disable a separate ad-blocking extension. Google Chrome Help

Allow intrusive ads on one Chrome site
- Open the site in Chrome.
- Select View site information > Site settings.
- Set Intrusive ads to Allow.
- Reload the page.

Microsoft Edge policy on managed devices
On organization-managed Edge installations, an administrator may control the AdsSettingForIntrusiveAdsSites policy. Microsoft documents AllowAds (1) as allowing ads on all sites and BlockAds (2) as blocking ads on sites with intrusive ads; blocking is the documented default. If an organization enforces the policy, an end user may not be able to override it. These are administrator policy values, not ordinary menu instructions. Turn off a browser’s mobile ad blocker
Firefox on iPhone or iPad
Firefox for iOS includes an optional ad blocker, though Mozilla describes the feature as experimental and progressively rolling it out, so it may not appear for everyone.

- Scroll to Browsing.
- In the Content section, switch Ad Blocker off.
To change it while viewing a page, open the Site menu, tap Ad Blocker, and switch it off. Mozilla says the feature uses an EasyList-based filter to block many ads and related trackers; some ads may remain, and it does not block search-result ads or sponsored content on Firefox Home or New Tab. Safari on iPhone
Safari content-blocking extensions are managed in iPhone settings. To turn one off generally, go to Settings app > Apps > Safari > Extensions, select the extension, and turn it off or adjust its settings.

To disable an extension for just one site, open that page in Safari, tap the Page Menu, choose Manage Extensions, and switch the extension off for the site. Apple advises reviewing installed extensions and understanding what they do. These steps are for Safari on iPhone; they do not establish the equivalent path on every macOS version. Microsoft Edge on Android and iPhone
In the Edge mobile app, open the menu, select Settings > Content blockers, and switch Block ads off. Microsoft’s instructions cover Edge on Android and iOS. When blocking is on, some ads may still appear because Adblock Plus treats them as acceptable; seeing such ads does not by itself mean the setting is off. Microsoft Edge app help

Pause or allowlist a third-party ad-blocking extension
AdBlock on desktop
For AdBlock’s desktop extensions in Chrome, Firefox, and Edge, click the toolbar icon and choose Pause on this site. The page refreshes with blocking paused for that site. To restore it, click the icon and choose Resume Ad Blocking.
AdBlock says the site remains allowlisted for seven days; visiting it again during that period renews the seven-day allowance. AdBlock Help Center

Adblock Plus on desktop and mobile
For Adblock Plus in Chrome, Edge, Opera, or Firefox, use its toolbar icon, open the gear/settings, choose Allowlisted websites, enter the site URL, and add it.
- iOS: In the Adblock Plus app, open Safari Blocking > Allowlisted Sites.
- Safari on macOS: Use the extension’s Allowlist tab.
- Samsung Browser for Android: Choose Add websites to the allowlist.
Adblock Plus says smart allowlisting lasts seven days and renews when you visit the site during that period. Adblock Plus Help Center
If a site still says your ad blocker is on
Allowing a site in one blocker may not stop every detection message. Adblock Plus notes that a site may detect another extension or other filtering software even when Adblock Plus is paused, the site is allowlisted, or its icon is grayed out.
- Check the browser’s installed extensions for another ad blocker or privacy tool.
- Check whether separate filtering software is running on the device or network.
- Confirm the site’s URL is the one you added or paused, then reload the page.
- If the warning remains, consult the site or blocker’s support instructions; a single toggle cannot be guaranteed to resolve every detection method.

The exact menus depend on browser, device, and version. The instructions here establish steps for Chrome on a computer, Firefox and Safari on iPhone or iPad, Edge on mobile, and the named extensions and platforms. They do not establish current steps for every desktop browser, Chrome on Android, or Safari on macOS; check the relevant browser or blocker’s official help for those combinations.
