On your Fire TV, open Settings > Preferences > Privacy Settings. If Automatic Content Recognition appears, select it and switch it off. The option is not confirmed on every Fire TV model, so check the menu on your device rather than assuming the same control is available everywhere.
Turn off Automatic Content Recognition
- From the Fire TV home screen, open Settings.
- Select Preferences, then Privacy Settings.
- If Automatic Content Recognition is listed, select it and switch it off.

If you do not see the ACR option, review the other privacy controls in that menu that correspond to the data you want to limit. They control different kinds of information; switching one off does not disable every form of collection.
Know what the other Privacy Settings control

For a Fire TV television, check broadcast live-TV data
If you use a Fire TV Edition television and want to limit information about broadcast programs received through its RF inputs, open Settings > Preferences > Privacy Settings and look for the broadcast live-TV data control. Amazon says this information can include channel and program names. It also cautions that turning the setting off may affect personalization. Details: Amazon Fire TV Smart television FAQs.
Stop eligible apps from sharing viewing information
On Fire TV devices that have a Continue Watching row, open Settings > Preferences > Privacy Settings > Manage Sharing From Apps. There you can manage participating apps, disable sharing of supported apps’ viewing and content information, or stop syncing viewing activity across Fire TV devices. EU televisions: HbbTV is a separate feature
Amazon describes Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV (HbbTV) as a third-party feature in the EU. TV service providers may collect information such as an IP address through it. On Fire TV Edition televisions, Amazon gives this route to disable the feature: TV Settings > Red Button Apps (HbbTV) > Hybrid TV (HbbTV). This control is not the ACR toggle.
