If your app started crashing every time after you added a crash reporter, treat the new integration as a prime suspect—but not a proven cause. First capture the earliest failing stack trace, establish whether the app process really terminates, and compare the failing build with the last version that launched successfully. The title’s “100%” describes one reader’s experience, not a general failure rate.
Start by confirming what is actually failing
A dashboard entry labeled “unhandled” is not, by itself, proof that the application process crashed. Sentry’s Help Center cautions that “An unhandled error does not always mean the application crashed.” Check the device or operating system logs, process state, and what the user sees: does the app exit, hang, or continue running after recording an error? The answer affects which stack trace and lifecycle events matter. Sentry’s guide to distinguishing an error event from a crash explains the distinction; the exact signals vary by SDK and platform.

Compare the failing build with the last working one
- Reproduce the failure. Record the platform and OS version, app framework, reporter and SDK version, exact launch steps, and any dependency or configuration changes made in the same build.
- Capture the first failure. Save the complete earliest stack trace and relevant device or runtime logs. Later errors can be consequences of the initial failure, so do not rely only on a dashboard summary.
- Compare builds. Check startup behavior and the first stack trace against the last known working build. If practical, make a controlled build that removes or disables only the reporter integration; keep other code and configuration unchanged.
- Reintroduce changes separately. If the controlled comparison changes the outcome, add the reporter’s components or related configuration back one at a time. This can narrow the cause without assuming the reporter itself is defective.
A failure that begins after an integration is a useful clue, but timing alone cannot establish causation. The specific reporter, platform, version, dependency set, and logs are needed to identify a root cause.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Check initialization order and overlapping exception handlers
Crash-reporting SDKs may register handlers for uncaught exceptions. If another SDK does the same, investigate that interaction and the order in which the components initialize. Firebase documents one specific case: when an app uses both Crashlytics and Google Mobile Ads, their crash reporters may interfere while registering exception handlers. Firebase recommends disabling Mobile Ads SDK crash reporting with disableSDKCrashReporting for that combination. This is a targeted mitigation for the documented setup, not a general fix for every startup crash. See Firebase’s Crashlytics troubleshooting guidance before applying it.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Verify setup instructions for your platform
Configuration steps differ across platforms and SDK versions. Use the setup guide for the app’s actual platform rather than transferring Android instructions to iOS or another framework. For example, Firebase’s Android Crashlytics setup guide describes forcing a test crash and then restarting the app so the report can be sent. That restart is part of report delivery; it does not explain why an app crashes.
Firebase describes Crashlytics as a crash-reporting service that collects app crash information through its SDK; its documentation covers the product and supported integration context at Firebase Crashlytics. Whatever reporter you use, check its current platform-specific setup, initialization requirements, and version notes against the exact SDK version in the failing build.

What to include when asking for help
- Platform, OS version, app framework, and the reporter’s name and SDK version.
- The last working build and the first failing build, including dependency or configuration differences.
- Exact reproduction steps and whether the process exits, hangs, or remains usable.
- The complete first stack trace and relevant logs, with sensitive data removed.
- Initialization order and the other SDKs that install or handle exceptions.
Without those details, the cause remains unresolved; the timing makes the new integration worth investigating, but does not identify a specific fault.
