To deploy a one-click service in Coolify, open a project and environment, choose Create New Resource → one-click Service, select a server and network, complete the service configuration, and click Deploy. Coolify creates the resource from a maintained Docker Compose template, starts its containers, configures proxy routing, and gives you logs and lifecycle controls. You still operate the server, DNS, secrets, firewall, backups, and the security of anything you expose.

What a Coolify one-click Service actually is
A one-click Service is a Docker Compose stack created from a service template maintained in Coolify’s service library. The template defines the containers, networks, environment-variable fields, ports, health checks, and persistent mounts needed by a ready-made service. Coolify’s documentation describes it this way: “A one-click Service starts from a Compose template maintained in Coolify’s service library.”
At creation time, Coolify copies that Compose definition into your new resource. The resource then has its own saved definition. If the catalog maintainers later improve the library template, your existing resource is not silently rewritten. Updating it is a deliberate change: review the newer definition, merge any relevant changes into your saved Compose configuration, and redeploy only after checking compatibility and data-safety implications.

The catalog is large and changes over time. Coolify’s website claimed more than 280 one-click services when accessed on October 15, 2026; treat that number as a snapshot rather than a permanent count.
Service or Application: choose the correct resource
The choice determines how Coolify expects to obtain and run your software.
| Choose a one-click Service when you have | Choose an Application when you have |
|---|---|
| A ready-made service template in Coolify’s catalog | A Git repository that Coolify must build |
| A multi-container Docker Compose stack | A Dockerfile-based project |
| A Compose definition you want to store and manage in Coolify | An existing container image that is not represented by a service template |
A service is therefore the practical route for packaged infrastructure such as a database-backed tool, queue, monitoring stack, or other software distributed as a complete Compose arrangement. An application is the better fit when your source code, build process, or image is the primary artifact. You can run either resource on a server connected to Coolify, but their creation and update workflows are different.
What you need before deploying
A Coolify control plane
You can self-host Coolify or use Coolify Cloud. With self-hosting, the official installation documentation provides an automated one-command installation path and requires root access on the installation server. Coolify Cloud hosts the control plane for you, so you avoid installing the dashboard there, but you still connect a server where the service containers will run.
A connected server
Prepare a Linux server that Coolify can reach over SSH. During connection, Coolify checks the host and prepares the Docker-based deployment environment. Confirm that SSH access works, Docker can run on the host, and the machine has enough free CPU, memory, disk, and network capacity for the service and its data.

Operational ownership
Coolify coordinates deployment, reverse-proxy routing, domains, HTTPS issuance, logs, and lifecycle actions. It does not remove your responsibility for operating-system updates, firewall policy, DNS records, secret management, backups, provider billing, or the security of exposed workloads. Decide who will monitor the host and restore data before deploying a stateful service.

How much server capacity is required?
There is no universal “one-click service” size. A small stateless utility and a database-heavy stack can have radically different requirements. Size for the complete workload: Coolify’s own control functions, every container in the Compose stack, expected traffic, background jobs, database memory, image layers, logs, and data growth.
| Reference | Published capacity | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| DigitalOcean Coolify marketplace documentation, 2026 | 2 CPU cores, 2 GB RAM, 30 GB storage | Minimum presented for Coolify alone; not a production guarantee for an installed service |
| Production service deployment | Workload-dependent; no single figure established | Account for the service’s containers, databases, traffic, storage growth, and operational headroom |
The DigitalOcean figures are a baseline for the Coolify platform, not a promise that every catalog item will run well on that size. A service with several containers or a database may need substantially more memory and storage. Hosting providers publish different Coolify deployment options; Vultr, for example, documents a Coolify marketplace application and SSH-connected deployment paths. These provider examples are choices of hosting workflow, not universal hardware requirements.
Deploy a one-click Service step by step
1. Install or access Coolify
- For a self-hosted control plane, follow Coolify’s official installation procedure on a server where you have root access. The automated installer sets up the platform and its prerequisites.
- For Coolify Cloud, sign in to the hosted control plane and proceed to server connection. The cloud dashboard does not supply the compute, storage, or public network for your service; those remain on the server you attach.
After the dashboard is available, sign in with an administrative account and confirm that you can create projects and environments.
2. Connect and validate the destination server
- Open the server-management area and add the host using its address and SSH credentials.
- Wait for Coolify’s connection and preparation checks to complete. Resolve SSH authentication, firewall, Docker, or permission errors before creating the service.
- Check the host independently: verify available disk space, memory pressure, CPU load, Docker health, and that required outbound and inbound traffic is allowed.
Coolify prepares and validates the connected server, but it does not take over operating-system patching, firewall administration, DNS, or provider costs. Keep those tasks in your normal operations process.

3. Open a project and environment
- In the Coolify dashboard, open the project that should own the deployment.
- Select the target environment, such as a production or staging environment.
- Choose Create New Resource.
Projects and environments provide the organizational boundary for resources, variables, domains, and deployment activity. Pick the environment carefully because moving a stateful service later can require a migration.
4. Select one-click Service
- Choose the one-click Service resource type.
- Search or browse the catalog and open the service you intend to run.
- Read the service description and exposed-port information before confirming the selection.
Coolify now copies the maintained Compose template into the new resource. This copy is the starting point for your deployment and becomes the definition that your resource uses until you intentionally edit or update it.
5. Choose the server and network destination
- Select the connected server that will run the containers.
- Select the available network destination indicated by Coolify.
- Confirm that the selected host has the storage path and network access the stack expects.
If the service will communicate with another resource, decide whether that traffic should stay on an internal Docker network or pass through a public endpoint. Expose only the ports that clients genuinely need.
6. Review the generated configuration
Before deploying, open the service’s Configuration → General area and inspect every generated setting.
- Environment variables: identify fields marked as required, supply strong unique secrets, and set hostnames, credentials, time zones, or other service-specific values. Do not leave example passwords in place.
- Persistent storage: verify that databases, uploads, configuration directories, and other stateful paths are mounted to persistent storage rather than disposable container layers.
- Domains: enter the hostname users will visit. Make sure the hostname is intended for this environment and does not overlap another proxy route.
- Ports and routing: check which internal port the application listens on and which port the proxy should publish. A container can be running while its web port is not routed.
- Compose definition: read the generated YAML, including service names, dependencies, images, health checks, networks, volumes, and restart policies. Look for placeholders, unsupported assumptions, or accidental public bindings.
Save the configuration only after every required variable has a deliberate value. Treat the Compose definition as deployment code: review changes, keep a record of secrets outside the YAML when appropriate, and avoid editing a working stateful stack casually.

7. Deploy and read the output
- Select Deploy.
- Watch the deployment output while Coolify pulls images, creates networks and volumes, starts containers, and applies proxy configuration.
- Wait for the operation to finish rather than assuming that a successful image pull means the service is usable.
- Read any warning or failed step and open the affected container’s logs before retrying.
A completed deployment should leave all required components running. Multi-container services may start in stages; a web container can appear briefly before its database or dependency is ready, so use the service health indicators and logs instead of judging from one early line of output.
8. Configure DNS, HTTPS, and the public endpoint
- Create the DNS record for the domain you entered in Coolify, pointing it to the server’s public address.
- Wait for the record to resolve from the networks your users will use.
- In Coolify, verify the domain is attached to the correct service and proxy route.
- Enable or request HTTPS through the configured proxy after DNS resolves correctly.
- Open the hostname over HTTPS and test the service’s login, API, or health endpoint.
Coolify can coordinate proxy routing and HTTPS, but domain ownership, DNS changes, certificate-related prerequisites, and the security of an exposed application remain your responsibility.
Verify that the service is healthy
Use several checks; a green deployment message alone is not enough.
- Container state: every required Compose component should be running, not repeatedly restarting or exiting.
- Health checks: where the template defines them, wait for the reported healthy state. An unhealthy result usually points to a failed dependency, wrong variable, unavailable port, or insufficient resources.
- Logs: inspect application, database, proxy, and worker logs separately. Look for authentication errors, migration failures, connection refusals, permission problems, and repeated crash loops.
- Local reachability: confirm that the service listens on the configured internal port and that dependent containers can resolve each other on their Docker network.
- Public reachability: test the configured domain over HTTPS from outside the server’s network.
- Functionality: perform a real transaction, such as signing in, creating a test record, or calling the documented API, then verify that the data persists after a controlled restart.
Keep the first successful deployment as a reference: record the service version, Compose definition, variables’ purpose, domain, storage mounts, and backup location without exposing secret values.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Common failures and recovery steps
| Symptom | Likely cause | Recovery |
|---|---|---|
| Deployment stops before containers start | Server connection, Docker, permission, or capacity problem | Read the failed deployment step, confirm SSH and Docker access, check disk and memory, then redeploy after correcting the host issue |
| Required-variable warning or immediate startup failure | A mandatory environment variable is empty, malformed, or still an example | Reopen the service configuration, fill every required field with valid values, save, and redeploy |
| Containers run but the domain is unreachable | Incorrect DNS, domain assignment, proxy route, exposed port, or failed web component | Check DNS resolution, the configured domain, proxy output, internal listening port, and web-container logs |
| Service reports unhealthy | Failed health check, unavailable dependency, bad credentials, or resource pressure | Inspect health-check output and each component’s logs; verify variables, dependency order, server capacity, and required network access |
| Data disappears after recreation | State was stored in a disposable container layer | Attach persistent storage to the stateful component, restore from a backup if necessary, and test persistence with a controlled recreation |
| Catalog template appears outdated | Your resource retains the Compose definition copied at creation | Compare the current catalog definition with the saved one, review changes and migration notes, then update the resource deliberately |
| HTTPS does not issue | DNS has not reached the server, the domain points elsewhere, or the proxy cannot complete validation | Correct the DNS record, confirm the domain in Coolify, ensure required ports are reachable, and retry certificate issuance |
| Service works locally but not from the internet | Firewall or proxy exposure is blocking the route | Check host firewall rules, cloud security groups, proxy bindings, and whether the service is listening on the expected interface |
Security and maintenance after deployment
Protect credentials and endpoints
- Replace every default password and generated example secret before exposing the service.
- Use separate credentials for staging and production.
- Limit public ports to the proxy and any explicitly required endpoint; keep databases and administrative interfaces private.
- Restrict SSH access, apply operating-system updates, and review firewall rules on the host.
- Do not paste secret values into support tickets or logs.
Back up stateful services
Persistent volumes prevent data loss during ordinary container replacement, but a volume is not a backup. Schedule application-aware database dumps or file backups, store copies away from the host, and periodically perform a restore test. Document which volumes and external dependencies must be recovered together.
Best Value
Control changes
Because the Compose definition is saved inside the resource, treat edits and template updates as change events. Export or record the working definition, review image and configuration changes, deploy first in a non-production environment when possible, and watch logs during migrations. Keep a rollback plan for both the application version and the data schema.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Monitor the host and service
Check disk growth, memory consumption, CPU saturation, restart counts, certificate expiry, backup success, and error logs. A service that is healthy today can become unavailable when logs fill the disk, a database reaches its volume limit, or traffic exceeds the original capacity decision.
Self-hosted Coolify or Coolify Cloud?
| Consideration | Self-hosted control plane | Coolify Cloud control plane |
|---|---|---|
| Dashboard installation | You install and update Coolify on a server with root access | Coolify hosts the dashboard |
| Service compute | Your connected server runs the service | Your connected server still runs the service |
| Operational work | You maintain the Coolify host as well as service hosts | You avoid maintaining the Coolify dashboard host, but maintain connected servers and workloads |
| Costs you still carry | Control-plane and workload server costs, storage, domains, and backups | Workload server costs, storage, domains, and backups |
The deployment screens and service-template behavior remain centered on the connected destination server. Choose self-hosting when you want control of the platform itself; choose the cloud control plane when reducing dashboard maintenance matters more than hosting that control plane yourself.
A practical pre-deploy checklist
- Coolify is installed or the cloud account is ready.
- The destination server is connected over SSH and passes Docker checks.
- The project and environment are correct.
- The selected catalog item is a Service rather than an Application.
- CPU, memory, disk, and network capacity match the complete workload.
- Every required environment variable has a real, secure value.
- Persistent mounts exist for every stateful directory.
- The Compose definition, ports, dependencies, and health checks have been reviewed.
- The intended domain and DNS plan are ready.
- Firewall rules expose only necessary endpoints.
- Backups and a restore procedure exist before production data is created.
Bottom line
Coolify’s one-click workflow removes much of the repetitive Docker Compose and proxy setup, but it is not a managed application service. Select a maintained Service template, connect a properly sized server, review the copied Compose configuration and required variables, deploy, then verify containers, health checks, DNS, HTTPS, logs, and persistence. The reliable deployment is the one that also has secure secrets, restricted exposure, tested backups, and an explicit plan for updating the saved Compose definition.
